Chapter 14 - Julian vs Elite Skeleton Warrior 2

Bang!

The unceasing smashing can be heard across the vast area of the Broken Tower. In the dangerous game of tag, a terrifying skeleton brandishing a massive halberd was pursuing a player like a mouse and a cat.

" Roar!"

The Elite Skeleton Warrior cried a resounding roar and quickly charged at the player. Seeing the Elite Monster use its skill [Devastating Charge], the player runs close to the crumbling wall of Broken Tower.

Just as the player was about to become a meat paste, he suddenly dashed through the sides and successfully dodged the Elite Skeleton Warrior's charge.

Bang!

The Elite Skeleton Warrior collided with the wall, causing it to temporarily stop moving. Julian didn't waste the opportunity to create distance between himself and the Elite Skeleton Warrior. He quickly ran in the opposite direction of the Elite Skeleton Warrior and aimed his crossbow at the terrifying skeleton.

[Power Shot]!

Swoosh!

The arrow quickly traveled through the air and accurately struck the burning flames in the terrifying skeleton's skulls; the Elite Skeleton Warrior briefly staggered.

Julian didn't miss the opportunity to lash out and do some damage as the flurry of arrows hit the Elite Skeleton Warrior's head just as it was ready to move, and multiple numbers seemed to float in the air.

"Hmmm. I thought it would be harder than I expected." Julian muttered as he dodged another [Devastating Charge] from the Elite Skeleton Warrior.

If other players saw how Julian played tag with the Elite Skeleton Warrior, their jaws would drop, as no ordinary person can continuously dodge the charge of the Elite Monster. Furthermore, Julian didn't just dodge the Elite Skeleton Warrior's attack but also chip away at its health bit by bit.

Julian looked at the terrifying skeleton and couldn't help but feel cheated by how it failed to excite him more. His inner monologue interrupted by the thud of the Elite Skeleton Warrior slamming against the wall again, Julian shook his head and sighed.

" Maybe I'm expecting too much for an Elite Monster; now that I think of it, I wonder what kind of boss we'll encounter in this dungeon," Julian muttered as he sent another flurry of arrows at the Elite Skeleton Warrior.

"Roar!"

As if the Elite Skeleton Warrior could feel Julian's disdain, it roared and charged at Julian once again. Julian awakens from his own thoughts and dashes through the sides as he places arrows in his crossbow's quiver.

Bang!

The Elite Skeleton Warrior once again collided with the walls. Other players would probably continue to kite the seemingly dumb elite monster; however, Julian felt it would be great to play around with the Elite Skeleton Warrior for a bit.

The Elite Skeleton Warrior awakened from its stunned state and saw Julian's dagger slashing through his thick rib bones. Julian glared at the damage that appeared in the air and couldn't help but utter a complaint. " I really need to start increasing my damage! Compared to Balmond's damage, mine doesn't look nice at all."

Julian quickly refocused on the Elite Skeleton Warrior and saw the huge halberd quickly slashing toward him. Without hesitation, Julian leaned backward and dashed through the sides while also slicing the exposed chest of the Elite Skeleton Warrior.

Before the Elite Skeleton Warrior could recover from its slashing animation, Julian ran past the terrifying skeleton and delivered a swift stab to its vulnerable back.

The Elite Skeleton Warrior was forced to turn around to confront Julian; however, Julian was faster than the clanky Elite Skeleton Warrior and once again delivered a swift stab to its vulnerable back as he ran past it.

In New Dawn Online, the weapon types that players can use have the same attack speed as the real ones outside the game. Players' attacks and movements in the game mirror how they move in the real world using their chosen weapon.

Many casual players and some not-so-skilled professional players were against this game mechanic during the open beta; however, Radiant Link Corporation was not backing up their game design, and the players were forced to adapt to it.

The majority of warrior class players in the game opted for relatively simple but slow weapons like the spear and axe because of this game mechanic, yet if you asked most of the players which weapon type has the highest attack speed, they would all say [Dagger].

Julian knew this fact and chose the dagger as his secondary weapon; he knew using the dagger would allow him to cover his weakness as a ranger class player and project his combat style in the game. Despite its lack of raw power, the dagger was the optimal choice for Julian, as it had a much higher attack speed compared to slower weapons like the spear or axe.

After a few more minutes of being treated like a punching bag, the Elite Skeleton Warrior can only let out its last roar as Julian stabs its skull with the dagger. The sound of several coins and items dropping on the ground was the best thing he has ever heard since going into this dungeon. Looking at the loot, Julian smiled as he saw an old book, dagger, and blue orb.

Julian immediately learned [Aqua Heal] and put away the other two items in the inventory. He looked around at the broken towers to make sure he didn't find anything special. After a brief unsuccessful search, Julian shook his head in disappointment as he saw nothing but rubble and garbage.

Seeing that there was nothing to do in the area, he looked in the direction of the ruined building with his calm blue eyes. There is no trace of concern and worry in Julian's eyes as if he already knows the situation.

" I wonder how the gang's enjoying the fight there," Julian uttered as he exited the broken tower.
