The next two days seemed to pass by in a blink. Lila had spent them with her family as they went to watch movies or go shopping. They also decided to go to the beach since it was spring and had lots of fun just enjoying each other's company. It was now Monday and she was ready to go back to her own house. Her whole family had come out to see her before they also left to go to the company.
"I'll see you all soon," Lila told them as she went to hug each of them. Reo came around in his car and they soon left. Lila put on some music and leaned back into the passenger seat. Her eyes looked toward her brother driving and saw his serious face. 'He really does look serious all the time.' Lila chuckled at her own thoughts.
"What's funny?"Reo questioned as he heard her. Lila shook her head.
"You," She answered with a big grin on her face.
"Did I do something funny?" He asked, which made her laugh even more.
"No no, you're always so serious and it was just funny when I saw you driving just now," She explained. Reo furrowed his eyebrows. Is his driving really that funny? He decided to just let it be since she seemed to be having fun.
"Anyway~" Lila began as she turned the music down a bit. "Have you gotten a girlfriend yet?" She seemed to be really interested as she put her face on one of her palms and faced him. Reo's mouth twitched as he turned the intersection. He could hear from her tone that she was teasing him again.
"You don't have to answer, I know you don't," She suddenly said as she pulled out her phone. Reo glared at her as if asking why did you ask then? Lila only smiled mischievously before showing a photo of a woman on her phone.
"Miss Reina is still single and she REALLY likes you...if you know what I mean," She said as she moved the phone closer to Reo's face. He merely looked at the photo before realizing it was a woman he had met at a banquet. They bumped into each other and spoke to each other for a few moments before going each other's way.
"How do you know her?" He questioned and ignored her sudden suggestion. Lila rolled her eyes at his cold attitude before putting her phone down onto her lap.
"I met her at the banquet last time and we quickly became friends before adding each other's phone number," She explained. "Although she is a bit shy, she seems like a really nice person."
Reo merely hummed at her answer. Lila signed and wondered when either of her brothers would get a girlfriend. One was too serious, while the other was a playboy who only went after looks. She wanted to also be an aunt with lots of nephews and nieces. One important fact about Lila was that she loved children and children loved her. Maybe it was because of her enthusiastic and loving attitude, but children enjoyed being around her.
Lila could already imagine her rich aunt life as she went shopping with her nieces and nephews. She stupidly grinned as she daydreamed about becoming an aunt. Reo looked at her and rolled his eyes at her dazed look. He already knew she was thinking about becoming an aunt. Zed and him could never understand why she was so obsessed with the idea, but gave up on arguing with her.
They soon arrived at her apartment. It was in a nice neighborhood with lots of security and nice scenery. Lila had decided on here when she had seen that it was the closest to her family.
"Okay! Let me know if you have anyone you're interested in. I'll woah my sister-in-law to marry you before you even get worried!" Lila exclaimed as she got out of the car. Reo chuckled before deciding to just nod his head.
"Be careful on your way back. Let me know if you need anything," He stated. Lila nodded and gave him a smile as she walked into the building. She quickly went up the elevators and made it to her floor. Lila put away her phone as she left the elevator and walked towards her apartment door, that was when she saw a pile of stuff outside the opposite side of her apartment.
"Room 902..." She mumbled as she read the room number opposite of hers. 'I guess someone's moving in.'
Lila had just gotten inside when she realized that she hadn't checked her mailbox when she had come inside. She groaned before putting her stuff down before heading outside again. Lila got into the elevator and pressed on the 1st floor. A few moments later, the elevators stopped and she got out.
She was about to head towards the mail boxes when she noticed a figure by the front doors of the apartment building. There was a hunched figure leaning against the glass doors. This made Lila freeze. It took her a while to realize that the figure was a man.
The all-black outfit he was wearing would have hidden him from Lila if he wasn't struggling to get up. As she registered what was happening, she stared at him for a few seconds. 'There's a man and he seems injured.' Her thoughts were going everywhere as she hesitated on whether or not she should help.
Lila wasn't sure why a man in all black would be lying in front of the apartment doors, but even worse was the fact that he was struggling and seemed to be in pain! 'I should have gotten the mail later.' Lila regretted her decision to come down. Despite her desire to help the man, she was cautious about many things due to avoiding the main leads in the novel. 'One of them being a random man needing help in her apartment building.'
'Why does this feel so cliche?' Lila's thoughts were interrupted when the man groaned and stopped moving. Her eyes widened as she ran over to him as he fell, barely grabbing his head before it hit the ground. She then froze as she realized that she had no choice but to help the random man and that thought suddenly made her want to cry. Lila looked up and wanted to scream at God for putting her in such situations. 'Why can't I just live peacefully?'
She signed before resigning to her fate. Using all her strength, she managed to lean the man on the front doors. By now, he seemed to have passed out and was bleeding from his head making Lila panic even more. She lightly tapped him, but he stayed still.
"He's not dead is he..." She whispered, quickly putting her finger under his nose. Feeling the slight breeze on her finger, Lila immediately relaxed feeling a bit of relief. She decided that the best thing to do was to call a hospital and let them know about the injured man. Lila quickly took out her phone before dialing the number. The familiar dialing noise came from her phone and Lila noticed the man lightly twitched.
"Hey can you hear me?" She quickly asked just in case. The man didn't respond, but seemed to be waking up. Lila was holding him with one of her arms, while her other hand held her phone. His eyes half opened and the first thing he saw was the phone. He quickly snatched it away as Lila froze from the sudden move.
The man then pressed the end button without hesitating and threw the phone a few meters away. Lila watched his actions and suddenly felt the urge to drop him onto the floor. 'He did not just throw away my phone.'
"That's my phone!" She yelled as decided to keep holding him, not wanting to be charged with murder as the man looked about half-dead at this point. He was sweating and panting from just that little action.
"No hospital..." He suddenly replied before fainting again. Lila stared at him in shock and anger. She couldn't even complain before he fainted. Taking some deep breaths, she thought about it and heaved a big sign. 'No hospital, no problem. If you end up dead then don't blame me.'
She dragged him with all her strength and made it to the elevators after about 10 minutes or so. Not forgetting to grab her phone on the way, she glared at the unconscious man. She pressed the button for her floor and panted a bit from all the work.
I must have really good luck since I haven't met a single person. Otherwise, she might have been talking to the police from the way she looked right now. Through the reflection on the elevator, she could see that her hands and clothes were all bloody, looking like she had just come out of a horror movie. She had one thought as the elevator doors closed.
'There goes my easy-going and peaceful life.'
