Lila signed again as she looked at the unconscious man on her sofa. She had hoped that he would wake up by now, but he still hadn't moved at all. By now, she had treated the wounds on his head and all she could do was wait.
'Why in the world did this even happen to me?' Lila wondered if this was the result of her not following the original story of being a second female lead.
"Who in the hell are you?" She wondered out loud as she stared at the man. She had already searched his pockets for any type of identification, but had no luck. He didn't have a wallet or even a cellphone. 'Who in this century doesn't carry a cellphone!!'
Frustrated and tired from the bizarre situation Lila hesitated again on calling the hospital. Or even the police. The presence of a random injured man in her apartment did not make her feel safe at all. Just as she was about to reach for her phone, the man stirred. She froze before quickly grabbing her phone and putting it far away from the man. 'What if he threw it again?!'
"Hey...are you awake?" she asked, grabbing a vase nearby for extra safety. The man groaned before opening his eyes and turning towards her. Observing her stiff posture and the vase she held before getting up, he got up.
"Where am I?" He asked as he sat on the sofa with difficulty. He held his injured head that Lila had bandaged as he spoke.
"This is my apartment. You were unconscious and I brought you here since you said you didn't want to go to the hospital before passing out," Lila explained as she kept her current position.
"Thank you, I'm sorry to have caused you any trouble," He suddenly said as he looked at her posture. He struggled to stand up before speaking again. "Would you mind telling which floor this is?"
Lila was surprised at his politeness, but was relieved to see that he didn't seem to have any ill intentions. She saw that he didn't look as pale as before and was relieved. 'What if he had died in her apartment?!' She shivered at the thought. Lila still held the vase though as she told him what floor it was.
The man seemed surprised before smiling at her. 'Who would smile in this situation?' She criticized him and labeled him as a weirdo in her mind.
"I guess we are gonna be neighbors then," He said. Lila froze before thinking back on the stuff that was outside in the hall next to her apartment. She had assumed that it was someone moving in, but what kind of situation was this? So, she had basically just helped her new neighbor?
"That's your stuff outside in the hall?" She questioned. He nodded. Lila was about to ask why he was injured, but decided not to. In this world, it was better not to know too much about strangers.
"Oh then it was nice meeting you," She politely said, hinting at him to leave. The man stared at the vase in her hands and understood.
"It was nice meeting you too," He replied before making his way out the apartment door. Lila quickly locked the door and slumped down onto the floor. She felt sluggish from all the fear and tension that was in her body. Ever since she met the man, her fight or flight instincts had been kicking in, and now that he was gone, she was in a state of exhaustion.
She took a few moments to regain her energy before making her way to the bathroom. She splashed some cold water on her face to wake herself up a bit more.
After calming herself down, she sat down in her bedroom before going over what had just happened. The man turned out to be her neighbor, which gave her a strange feeling, but she hoped they wouldn't need to meet again.
She wondered if she should just go back to her parents house, but decided against it. She didn't want to worry her family.
Since the man had just left, Lila didn't want to go out anytime soon. However, she remembered that she never got her mail.
"Shit!" She exclaimed, pushing her hair out of her face. Lila had already decided to just stay in for the rest of the day so she would just get it tomorrow.
'I really hope that I don't see him tomorrow.'
