"Dinner is ready."
Sarah tilted her head back to look at Emily. She was smiling down at her.
"Oh. Thanks."
Emily noticed her dour mood as she rose from the couch knowing Ace was the reason for her break in character.
"The table is back in the kitchen."
When Emily turned around to lead the way Sarah stayed back to pull her hair tighter into a bun.
Emily went into the kitchen just in time to see Ace taking his plate out of the kitchen through the back door.
"Running away from a woman. Wow! I thought I would never see the day."
Ace's dark brows lowered over his eyes. "I am not running away I just need... it's hot in here and I need some air."
"Ace it's literally almost freezing out here. And while you dwell on that thought remember you still have to explain to Sarah while we took her out of the hospital and brought her out here away from civilization."
When he groaned she smiled.
"Yeah, I knew you forgot."
