Lena struggled to get through the day. She was so tired and it wasn't even work-related. Part of the reason she was so stressed was that she had earlier forwarded her resignation letter to Edgar. According to her computer, he read it but he hadn't responded yet Ryan had forwarded many client files for her assessment and he wouldn't, couldn't, do that without Edgar's permission.
She sat back in her seat and sighed. Was he really serious about not letting her go? Couldn't he see that it was insane to stay especially because it made their work environment awkward?!
And his reason was selfish. People would talk, that was unavoidable but did she have to sacrifice her emotions and happiness just so that people wouldn't suspect they had a one-night affair?!
"I can't do this," She finally said aloud. She was living at the edge of her control and it was messing with her head. She couldn't wait anymore, she had to go.
