"Thunk, thud...thud...thud...thud..." Watching the skull wrapped in wispy hair and skin roll down the stares after dropping from the alter then looking at my quest progress two thoughts go through my head... Oh shit I didn't manage to kill any of the bosses named in the quest... and... If that was a mob that spawned thousands of demons... How many more of those mobs are there? How many will I have to fight at once? Even if they are trash that I can wipe out easily and I have a damage threshold with good defense... The greatest warrior shall still fall to an endless army of children... Looking to my inventory I look at the loot from my massacre and I get mixed emotions... no the monsters aren't dropping anything I need or something particularly amazing but the monsters themselves or their specific drops interests me a little... After all I've already mentioned needing their bloodline fangs and skin before... Not to mention the value in these devourer demons stomachs... with a shrug I store away their stomaches and begin to mass fuse their bloodlines and skins to raise their grade... While I only manage to get a few epic grade... if what I fear is a reality then... I'ma get a lot of devourer demon stomachs and one more ingredient into a rather interesting armor set... and maybe a bloodline? Still doesn't match me personally I am kinda holding out for the sword bloodlines... I plan to hunt down every creature known for swordsmanship or magic and fuse their bloodlines but maybe I can find a use for this interesting concept of a bloodline or even possibly save these four bloodlines and fuse them into my final plan... I mean blood is kind of a part of the water, life, and metal paths and those are all magic related paths... So I'm on the fence...
Looting the body of the summoner I get another letting... This is entirely different though from a regular envelope to a scroll a bloody, red leather scroll... Opening it up I read the text silently discovering the reason this guy was mass producing demons and what the human flesh is for... Supposedly to summon a demon they need flesh, fluids freely given by the demons can also be used... Gross... anyways the scroll was a report of sorts demanding more flesh and tallying the number of demons sent to the crimson family members... Seeing the word family and not clan I got a weird feeling in my gut and a perplexed look... The vampire families were wiped out centuries ago... The clans were the remnants that followed specific ways of life. While the families were egomaniacal genocidal monster factories that gathered all the kinds of vampire into one big family and had them all do one set task... Thinking about it I remember it goes blue/green vampire equals squats while blood is guardsman and crimson is leader while the mutt vampires are breeders/pets... Yeah... Both those... Families were the enemies of all races unlike the clans a family of vampires preys on everything. Animals, humans, demons, demi-humans, etc... demi-humans aren't a good blood bank for any of them but they are very useful is summoning demons... then theirs the one race that was pissed off the most... The sanctuary... They were the reason that the vampires were wiped out... Sanctuary isn't necessarily one race despite being classified as one they are a collective of sentient plant life... Trees, flowers, etc... Led by the dryad and allied with the elves they are one of the strongest races that exist simply because of their insane numbers advantage however they lack one key thing... the ability to move. They must be transported by other races which is why the wood elves became their closest allies. The wood elves scout the world to find their children and bring them to sanctuary. If sanctuary was a race capable of moving on their own they would rule the entire planet by now... well except the player cities. It's impossible for NPCs without a player guardian or owner to enter them at all let alone rule them. Some super powerful NPCs got into the player cities as part of the plot by following their disciples or servants aka players... However a formal connection must be established. Granted the player cities don't take up much space and the only way to level their is through dungeons. Sure there's still the merchant and trainer NPCs in the player cities but those NPCs are actually owned... Not to say people control those services they are just a players child or spouse that they brought in from outside the city that the system automatically gave a job. Some players even made whole lives out of npc children or harems. However it's difficult to maintain so many relationships at once so it's rare for anyone to go that far for so little money...
Anyways sanctuary made the wood elves declare war on the vampire families which inspired the elven council to join in along with the other races. Which resulted in vampire families becoming extinct. Well... Looking through the crack in the door that leads to a much larger room with four summoners in it... Endangered... Kicking the door open I charge in and kill a summoner who got to close to the door before backing out as the swarm of demons charge at me and I began the slaughter. Surprisingly at one point the number was vastly lower but a much stronger demon joined the bunch. This time was a sword demon. Which made me happy... I guess next time I won't kill any of the summoners before hand... Anyways the sword demon despite having a bloodline that interested me was no different strength wise then the lesser devourer demons. A good two hours of slaughter later I reached the now clean room with four kinds of demon bloodline in the bag. Finishing off and looting the summoners I went towards the next room.
