Chapter 2 - Chapter I: Iseul Yoon

A young student with the name of Iseul Yoon had just a regular day, preparing his coffee with just the right amount of sugar and milk to soothe the strength the perfect amount it wouldn't send shivers down his spine.

His roommate named Jeong Tae-Won always teased his best friend for the amount of milk he'd put in his coffee, though he didn't have the place to make any comments on it due to his own habit of putting nearly half a jar of cinnamon in his; Altering the taste of the coffee entirely.

Jeong would refer to Iseul's coffee nearly having the same dark blonde touching the border of brown hair; In greater detail the cloudy softness of the hair coming back in the coffee's sweet taste.

"Today is yet another day where we have to read fairy tales about history, very thrilled" Jeong said sarcastically while quickly eating up his breakfast. Iseul couldn't help but chuckle at his friend's jokes about their classes, it was clear he didn't enjoy them nearly as much as he did.

Today however, these so called 'fairy tales' Jeong referred them as included an infamous family carrying the name of the great Jang bloodline. Iseul had read many stories about this family, their great importance and wealth.

His mother always showed him pictures of the garments they'd wear named Gonryongpo, intricate attire worn by the reigning king, the crown prince, and the first son of the crown prince. If becoming a history professor didn't work out, Iseul's always wanted to become a tailor for such historical attire in traditional production to preserve its story and prestige.

After their usual straight forward morning routine, the pair headed to the main college's building to follow their first class, luckily their dormitory was near as it had started to rain. What was strange however, was the fact that Iseul didn't seem to hear the rain, but instead wind that didn't seem to be there as there was no breeze to feel on his clothing; it was a comfortable breeze.

Though at first Iseul didn't seem to notice, eventually when he entered the building he suddenly heard the raindrops tapping on the windows which should've been heard on his raincoat just a few seconds prior.

"Hey-" Jeong called out to Iseul while nudging his side softly- "Where are you going? You're walking past our class?" His roommate pointed out in confusion as Iseul took a moment to give some form of response. What was happening to him? Why did it feel like his mind was in two different places at the same time?

The pair entered the classroom filled with other students waiting in great anticipation for their next class about the infamous Jang family.

Some were purely interested in the way they raised to the top of their society while others seemed more intrigued by the handsome and breathtaking faces they'd see dressed up with intricate attire such as the earlier mentioned 'Gonryongpo.'

Iseul's glance first landed on a large scroll of ancient calligraphy from around mid 1390s together with a painting of a serious looking man of great importance he had certainly read about before. Perhaps his mother's and his interest in this certain era of history came to great use now.

As the class went on, they eventually fell on the topic of the sons of the Jang family, one of them being the infamous son named Jun-Suk who was notoriously known for his rough unkind nature.

Seeing those grey traditionally painted eyes on his book's paper made a shiver run down his spine like an untouched brewed cup of black coffee would. It wasn't a good shiver, but a fearful one.

Iseul was thankful he didn't live in those days with this prince, even if he'd just be a mere commoner and worker, just the thought of this man walking around being one of the officials would send him into a world of nightmares.

Then at that moment... Was that the sound of yet another breeze? But he was inside a warm comfortable classroom, how could this be? He grew goosebumps.

Out of instinct, the dark blonde boy slammed his book shut, grabbing the attention of those around him who were utterly confused. He sure looked like an idiot, he knew that... But those eyes and that cold breeze made him feel a level of discomfort he never had felt before.

Thankfully, the first part of the class had passed by, he could go outside and take a breather under the roof that covered the white marbled stairs of the main building.

The student sat down on one of the steps, hugging his warm raincoat around him, the rain may not soak him right now, but the air was still chilly to the touch.

He could feel something cold brush against his eyes, making him rub his eyes and blink a few times, between the blinks seeing a different building in front of him together with unfamiliar dirt like ground instead of the pavement of his college.

"What was that," Iseul frowned "Huh?" He squinted his eyes as he saw a few robed figures walk around in front of him, entering various historic architectural buildings he had only seen before in movies and text books. Was this where those breezes came from? Was his mind truly in two different places?

He reached his hand out to the front while blinking a few times before he felt a firm hand on his shoulder.

Iseul jumped and immediately looked behind him, no one; Simply the college building. He was going crazy, or perhaps he was dreaming due to the lack of sleep? He had so many questions that he didn't know the answer to.
