Chapter 23 - Challenge from Sanfort (1)

The color red appeared which made all the prospective students in the lined up go into an uproar.

"Red?!"

"It's not even a dark red, but a perfect red!"

"It's around 2800! This kid has an enormous amount of mana!" Sanfort couldn't even stop himself from praising Lein. During this test, Lein's belonged to the highest. However...

"But I don't see your innate magic elements. You were born with a large amount of mana, but you don't have any magic elements." Sanfort was confused about having to make the right choice for Lein. Even though it had a large amount of mana, but without the inherent elements to support it, it was like a gigantic ship in a waterless void.

The magic element is useful for determining one's future direction. With the elemental magic, one would not be tossed around in the dilemma of determining which magic suited them the most. Then, what about those born without magic elements and what are the consequences?

One must know that fully comprehending a magic technique takes a long time. It was not uncommon for someone to even spend years just to successfully comprehend one simple technique. Then, how could one have to spend too much time just to find the magic element that best suited one?

Even so, Sanfort did not lose his mind. He decided to see what Lein was capable of. At least, this kid had something in his pocket, right? There was no way he'd managed to counter Sanfort's aura earlier without having any magic in his body.

Can you show me any magical abilities you have?" said Sanfort with a curious expression.

However, instead of preparing to put on a show, Lein clasped his hands together at Sanfort, then replied with a guilty expression, "I am a sword user, Sir, and right now I don't have a sword to demonstrate my abilities. As you know, I have a large amount of mana, so I don't want to waste it and intend to learn about magic. However, I currently don't have any basis for magic."

Lein had a green blade dagger, but showing it would only shake the Asmovius Kingdom. It was an extremely rare epic class dagger. Only someone at the king or duke level would have the ability to possess it.

The reason why Lein pointed that out to Ron, George, and Alice, was because they were just teenagers just starting to set foot in the real world. Of course they did not have extensive knowledge of the green blade dagger.

"Why don't you take sword classes first? Asmovius Magic and Sword Academy gives ample space to all students. After a few years, you can return to taking magic classes. Doesn't that make more sense than taking a magic class for the first step?" said Sanfort with a confused yet curious expression. Which human gave this kid such strange insight? It makes more sense sharpening the ax currently in your hand to split a tree, than going out of town far away to buy a chainsaw.

However, Lein's next reply made everyone there lose their jaws; it fell from the shock.

"My sword skills are already so strong, Sir, that I don't need any sword masters," Lein replied while looking at Sanfort's face with a serious expression.

Arrogant! Very arrogant!

Everyone planted those words in their heads. A tokenless country kid dared to say such a thing? Even the owner of the gold token didn't have such courage.

"Hahaha, I like your confidence, Brat." Sanfort then reached into his trouser pocket and took out a silver token from it, "How about this bet? If you last 10 moves against me, then you will get this silver token and I will let you join the magic class. I will also give you my full support! However..." An evil smile immediately appeared on Sanfort's face before he continued, "If you fail, then you should leave and never expect Asmovius Magic and Sword Academy to open again for you."

Hearing that, the crowd immediately erupted into an uproar, even some prospective students who had silver tokens came to see what was going on.

"Arrogant jug boy! Arrogance will only lead you to ruin," said someone in the lined up causing all of them to nod in agreement.

However, some of them also showed envious expressions. It only resisted 10 moves from Sanfort! After that, they will get silver tokens as well as full support from him. With that, it's not impossible for them to have the same opportunity as the owner of the gold token; became one of the 12 Best Warriors Asmovius Kingdom's. On the one hand, this brat's arrogance had also brought him great luck and opportunity.

But, they should also know that Sanfort was one of the 12 Best Warriors Asmovius Kingdom's! Even though he was at a low rank, his power was certainly extraordinary. They had to know that the hardships of becoming one of the 12 Best Warriors Asmovius Kingdom's were like looking for a needle in a haystack. It's not about luck, but about talent, hard work, and ability!

"Yes, Sir." Lein nodded and accepted the challenge. His plan to stay inconspicuous had failed! In fact, he attracted the attention of more people than he thought.

Sanfort then gave the gatekeepers a nod to give Lein the sword. Moments later, one of the gatekeepers brought out a sparkling white dagger. Even though it was just a dagger, but in Lein's tiny hands, it turned into a sword.

"That's a real dagger?! A small mistake can get you hurt!"

The crowd erupted again, remembering Sanfort's seriousness about this challenge. He really wanted to destroy that jug boy!

"It's a low-class dagger, but its power is enough to penetrate a mid-class orc's body." Lein analyzed upon receiving the sparkling white dagger.

On a side not far from them, Lezzhy was watching silently. Just like Ron, he was also curious about the actual amount of mana in Andes' body. Recalling their encounter just now, Lezzhy had the thought that Andes had improved greatly, both physically and in character. He even felt he had truly seen his father's maturity in Andes.

However, just like their last encounter, Andes' arrogance had not dissipated! In fact, he was even more arrogant than before. Considering the Andes were crushed by him back then, it was no wonder Lezzhy showed an expression of pity for him. Your arrogance will truly destroy you this time!

In front of Sanfort, Lein picked up the stance. It had a strong and sturdy attitude at the same time. Seeing him, Sanfort realized that this brat wasn't simple. The stance have almost no gaps. However, would it be able to survive when faced with a sudden attack?

Sanfort then took long strides and he disappeared at the same time. It was too fast that even everyone there didn't have a backlash at his speed.

The next half second, Sanfort appeared on Lein's back while showing a stance to deliver a powerful attack. "It ends here, Brat!" An evil smile appeared on Sanfort's face. He had no intention of reducing the effect of his attack. If it hit a kid of the same age as Lein, then death was inevitable.

However, before the attack could hit him, Lein disappeared and then suddenly appeared in front of Sanfort; only inches from him.

Sanfort in the end only attacked air and fell down with an ugly expression. "I underestimated this brat too much!"

"Nine more moves," Lein said expressionlessly.
