"Okay Arinna. I need your help with classes and skills. I want to have a magical class. Can you help me narrow down my options? I'm looking for which classes are rare or common and then how difficult they are to master."
"I'm more then happy to help! Starting from most common to rare are: Shaman, War Mage, Knight Commander, Psionic, Technomancer, Warden and finally Void Caller.
Shaman are mages specializing in healing spells and support spells. War Mage are those that focus solely on combat and magic in general. The Knight Commander is a mage that focuses on group combat with buff spells and minor healing. A Psionic is someone that uses their psychic abilities to cast spells or even manipulate the environment around them.
Technomancer a harder class most people try to learn, but end up becoming either a Mechanic or a normal War Mage. Technomancer's use magic to create powerful machines temporarily, enhance preexisting ones or spending countless time using magic to create a grand machine.
Wardens are complicated. There are very few that end up mastering this class and those that do are extremely versatile and able to do a little of what the other magical classes can do. They mainly focus on creating barriers to protect and entrap or even Arrays that can attack.
Void Callers are the rarest of the magical classes. 1 in a billion will become a Void Caller. It isn't a class you learn, but are born with. Able to harness the powers of the void or sun. Even being a low level Void caller are you a stronger then most other classes."
Listing to Arinna explains everything Lucas start to ponder what he should do. He knew he wouldn't take the Void Caller class. With how rare they are he would definitely have a target on his back. Out of all the classes he saw only two fit him.
The Shaman and War Mage were to simple. He'd blend too much into the crowd. Knight Commander and Psionic sounded great, but even gaming he was never a frontline fighter or good at manipulation.
That left him with Technomancer and Warden. And between the two he had his pick.
Lucas's hand hovered over the class he wanted and picked it.
[Lucas Basin Class: Warden lv 1]
[ Minus 200,000 Points. 800,000 remaining]
'Wow that's a lot of points for that single class. As much as I want to spend more points on leveling myself up. I think getting lots of skills will make things much better in the long run.'
Over the next few hours Lucas looked through the gigantic list of skills. Some of them were amazing skills.
[Skill] [ Immortality: Still able to be killed, but will not be infected by any disease, curse or plague. Will never die of old age and will remain in your prime. 2 Million Points]
'Man some of these skills are great! To damn bad they are so costly! I'm going to spend hours reading through this entire list!'
And he did. He spend hours reading through the list of skills and asking Arinna questions.
With the remaining 800,000 he spend all but 100,000 he planned to save for any skills he would need once he was there.
[Skill] [Magnus Eye: able to read and speak any language. 1500,000 points]
[Skill] [Quick Learner: able to learn and gain experience twice as fast. 50,000 points]
[Skill] [Natural Resistance: gain resistance to piercing, bludgeoning and slashing from non magical attacks. 50,000 points]
[Skill] [Magic Resistance: gain resistance to all magical affects, damage and magical weapons/items. 50,000 points]
[Skill] [Cognitive Perception: able to alter your mental state to process information of the world faster. You are able to perceive the world in slow motion while to the world you are moving faster. For every mana per second you spend you are able to slow the world down. 200,000 points]
[Skill] [Busting Mana: (passive) this skill grows along side you. Your mana reserves grow rapidly as you do. Class skill change 10 mana per level to 30 mana per level. 200,000 points] [Skill Level 1]
'Now I feel comfortable. Skills I have are best for survival and growth and I won't have to worry about not being able to speak to people. I doubt they will understand English.'
Arinna watched Lucas intently. She's given new lives to countless people and nearly all of them die in their new world because of one thing. Arrogance. Many spend all their points on powerful skills and not even realized they become targets for older and more powerful beings. They treat their new life like a game that costs them their life. People like Lucas who think about the big picture are the special ones. They tend to reshape the universe or world they inhabit.
She couldn't wait to see what Lucas would do once he arrived.
"Lucas? Are you ready now" Arinna asked with her angelic voice.
"Yes!" Lucas said with a grin. He was excited to have an adventure he always dreamed of. Magic and monsters and now even with spaceship! He couldn't wait to see what awaited him in the new world!
With a wave of her hand a rift in the void appeared. A swirling vortex of light. Streaks of whites, blues, greens and purples would shine through occasionally. The center of the vortex started to tare itself open revealing a battle between Solar Ships.
The ships reminded Lucas of a movie he watched as a kid. Treasure World. Each ship looked liked a Victorian era sail boat, but used magic and technology to sail in space.
There were four types of ships he noticed. It was a 3v1 fight. The armada fighting against the other three seemed to be barely alive but fighting incredibly.
Their ships had massive holes and the people manning the stations seemed sluggish and limp. Occasionally one of these ships would get closer to an enemy ship and reveal their weapons. Massive hooks and claws and other machinery would jut out of the ship. These tools would dig and claw all they can into an enemy ship before their crew could board and fight.
On the other side each force had their own style. One ship style was white and gold coloring with lavish architect. Ornate designs. Each ship appeared to be a work of art with its curves and gold trims. Massive runes would appear like a shield every time they would be fired upon. Once the runes stopped the attack it would charge from white to gold and launch the attack back at their enemy.
Another one seemed to be more industrial. Each ship was heavily armored. They looked more like an ironclad ship then anything else. They more looked like a shoebox flying through space, but much much more deadly. He watched as a few of those ships opened in the front revealing massive cannons in a triangle formation. Once one would fire the barrels would rotate and fire again in quick secession.
The remaining fleet appeared to be a traditional sail boat looking fleet. The hull of their ships looked as though they were made of wood or painted appear that way. Even their solar sails were white. Many different races commanded their ships. Out of all the ships on that side this fleet was the largest both by ship size and fleet size. The largest ships stayed at the center of each formation and had massive mortars that would launch a magical attack into the enemy. As soon as one hit a ship it would explode causing a shock wave that would damage surrounding ships.
The rift blinked and showed a new scene.
It was a lush green planet with 3 moons. The rift zoomed in on each moon showing a spaceport and what Lucas could only guess were military outposts or training facilities. The rift followed a handful of ships traveling from each stat port before slipstreaming to another star system. The ship the rift followed looked like a barebones version of the last fleet of ships he saw.
It's brown wood like exterior, white sails and many raced crew. They all moved huge storage boxes with the help of robots. They had a symbol of a Sailboat over a crescent moon. They seemed to be a trading company as they moved cargo. The Solar Ship sailed through space from one moon to the lush green planet bellow.
They arrived at a starport build atop a mountain. It looked like a normal port, but built vertically. Each ship would land at a dock and machines and drones would leave the port to grab and scan their cargo before bringing it to their elevator and sent into the mountain itself.
The rift started to zoom out and zoom past the world. Lucas saw many cities and towns. Some extremely basic to a fantasy world while other looked like a normal city from his world and very few looked like a city from a science fiction novel. The rift started to slow down as it came upon a large fantasy city.
It had large stone walls with runes covering them. Inside the walls were many houses, shops and at the very center were two buildings. One was a mansion for the lord of the land and the other was an academy.
Zooming back out, beyond the walls were many small settlements of 4-5 buildings and lots of farm lands and herds of animals, both magical and non.
Finally the rift stopped at an open field. A sheen started to move over the rift as though it was opening.
"There you go Lucas. Your first step in your new life. I can't wait to see what you do."
