He took steady steps to where she stood. When she turned to see him, she was stunned that his simple dress still looked exquisite. He wore loose pants and a new robe, one that he cared less to tie because it revealed his broad chest.
And the glass in his hand made him appear like a work of art.
His finger moved away the wet strand of hair that lay on her forehead. "You should get your hair dried, or you might catch a cold. And I wouldn't want that, forest girl."
He stepped past her, leaving her even more stunned than she already was.
"Your robe, Milord." She stuttered out and stretched it out for him to take. "Thank you for your kindness." Even if it was originally your fault, Vanessa smiled widely when he hadn't taken the robe from her hand.
"You think it is my fault?"
She blurted out, "Yes." Vanessa snapped her head up, suddenly realizing the words of the king. "Uh, no. I apologize, Milord." This time Vanessa bowed deadly.
