"My goodness!"
She turned around to see Ray staring at her in surprise. "Here was I thinking the abyssal was pissed at us." He shifted his gaze around the area before bringing it back to her. "But it looks like you're really the angry one."
"I thought you said you weren't coming." She asked without shifting her gaze from the building.
"Well, let's say I didn't want my partner to get hurt because I refused to help in a fight. That would damage my good reputation," he said righteously.
"I'll attend to the people. I think you should do the same."
"Nah! That isn't my calling." Ray waved dismissively before walking to the partially demolished building. "I guess I won't be getting any credit. "I should have come earlier in the first place," he said before walking away. But after taking his twelfth step he heard a slight sound.
"Huh?" He turned around while staring intensely at the crumbled building.
