Chereads / Dark Abyss: Meteor Apocalypse / Chapter 29 - The Revengeful Man Returns

Chapter 29 - The Revengeful Man Returns

Ray could be seen running and jumping from rooftop to rooftop. As for what was his reason for doing this, he was in search for someone, or more appropriately, something.

About two days ago, Sylph informed him that the abyssal they had been looking for had been busy...…shopping.

This really annoyed Ray and he couldn't wait to catch it.

But from what he notice, he believed that the abyssal was most likely in the southern region where Sylph was searching. Still, this didn't stop him from searching as he hoped he would be the one to get acquainted with it first.

Ray didn't have his sword with him, so in reality, if he met with the abyssal now, things could get ugly if the abyssal is as strong as he imagines.

One thing was for sure, this abyssal had a very dangerous ability which allowed it to do something much worse than camouflage, which they had initially thought to be the case

Invincibility.

How dangerous this abyssal was, depends on its physique and also its method of killing. Sylph said that the source of her information couldn't give a good description of the abyssal.

Ray who had spent almost five days searching for the abyssal swore not to let it go when he eventually catches it.

As Ray was running, something suddenly latched onto his leg and pulled him down from the roof of a high building as he crashed into a small shop.

"Ahhhhhhhh!!" The woman who owned the shop screamed before putting as much distance as she could. Even she couldn't believe how fast she was running.

Ray leaped out of the shop which had its awnings completely destroyed. He looked around for the culprit, but he couldn't find anyone which made his guard rise up to the maximum as he pulled out a dagger from within his clothes.

His gaze moved slowly around his environment, scanning for the slightest unusual movement. Then it seemed like he didn't have to wait for long.

He noticed something approaching him from the right and quickly shifted his gaze while slashing the dagger forward. But he didn't cut anything. Then he notice that a thin thread like thing was attached to his chest.

"Shit!"

Ray was suddenly pulled forward with great force and started bursting through series of buildings. When he got the opportunity, he slashed his dagger forward which severed the thread, causing him to crash into one more building before coming to a stop.

"Arghh!". He groaned in annoyance while standing up. He looked around to see multiple people staring at him.

His upper clothing was battered and his trouser was also torn in some parts.

All the females in the building were either shocked or flushed with completely red faces, much more than that of a tomato.

Sighting something, Ray walked towards a young lady. "May I borrow this?"

"H-huh?" Her face turned even redder as she looked towards what he was talking about which turned out to be her leather jacket. "S-s-sure."

She immediately subconsciously agreed still in disbelief.

She had seen multiple pictures of the morning star, so she was able to recognize him. She couldn't believe that he was standing right in front of her with battered clothes which revealed some of his body, and he was asking for her jacket to cover himself up.

"Thanks." Ray grabbed the jacket before walking towards the entrance he had made and jumping out.

"M-m-morning star w-w-wore my jacket. No one would believe me. Wait! I have witnesses." She looked around to see envious and furious stares directed at her. "Or not."

**************************

Ray's legs made contact with the ground. He believed this wasn't the work of the abyssal and he didn't find it funny in the slightest.

He stood up while looking around and as he expected, the thread was shot at him once more but this time he stretched his hand causing it to wrap around it instead of his crest.

He felt a similar force pull him but this time he was ready so he ended up getting only slightly lurched.

"This assailant is quite strong but this won't do." He completely regained his balance before pulling the thread and after two seconds a figure sailed through a building directly towards him.

Not wasting the opportunity, he spun around with a kick right into the figure's chest causing it to crash into a building directly beside them.

Ray used his dagger to severe the thread while waiting for his assailant to emerge, which he did shortly after.

"You little bastard! Who do you think you are to pull me like that!" A middle aged man walked out of the broken part of building with a scowl on his face, accompanied with a fresh injury on his forehead from which blood trickled out.

Ray was baffled by his question. "I should be the one asking you that."

"Huh! What did you...." He paused while taking a closer look at the boy's face. His expression changed several times, from confusion, to disbelief, to annoyance which ended up with a smile as he began laughing as though he was crazed.

Ray just kept staring at him blankly.

"I never expected to meet you here. I've been looking for a way to meet you but I never expected it to be here. Who do you think you are, making women to fall for you here and there." He gritted his teeth as he said the next statement. "Damn! Even my daughter, and I don't trust my wife anymore."

"I don't know what you're talking about." Ray said innocently.

"Don't play dumb with me! You think I don't know who you are," he bawled.

Ray shrugged his shoulders when he heard this.

"That does it. Today you're going to be taking your final breath, or better yet, I'm going to bash in that pretty face of yours, morning star," he said with a sinister grin, while pressing his fingers against each other as they made cracking sounds.

"Look, I don't have time for this but if you insist, I can make some, and believe me, you don't want to spend time together with me," Ray said in a slightly threatening tone.

*Spit*

He made this action before looking at Ray in spite. "Let's see what you've got." He stretched his hand forward as the thin thread like things shot out from his finger tips.

Ray tilted, slightly evading it before turning back to look at him in ridicule. "Like seriously, Spiderman?"

The man gritted his teeth and pulled his arm backwards, causing a mailbox to slam against Ray's back.

"Now you've done it." Golden aura appeared around his body and the dagger he held.

The man already knew his ability, so he wasn't surprised. He quickly shot out threads from both his hands towards Ray, but when they reached his aura, they all got sent into different directions. His eyes widened in confusion when this happened.

Ray, not wasting any time, launched towards him with a kick to his chest. Blood spurted from his mouth as he bowled backwards with great force.

Something in his hand stopped him from going backward any further he got pulled back towards Ray, who had a big smile on his face while spinning around with another kick to his chest, which blasted him backwards once more with another spurt of blood.

For the first time in his life, he cursed his threads which caused him to get hit again.

The treads weren't able to stop his movement this time as he flew through the hole of the building which he had arrived from.

Ray gave chase through the hole and as the man came out through the other part of the building, Ray was already upon him with a kick.

He was able to react fast enough to block the kick with his arms crossed, but got sent downwards towards the ground. He quickly shot threads to different buildings which reduce the force he was moving at. So when he crashed into the ground, the effect wasn't much.

He looked ahead of him to see Ray standing about 20 metres from him. Everyone around had begun evacuating and running away.

"You have blood stain on your shirt. I think you killed someone. Couldn't you have gone a little slower?" Ray scolded.

"Weren't you the one who attacked me? You're the killer here, not me. And who do you think you are talking to with that tone? You just got lucky, so don't get cocky," he barked.

Ray shrugged his shoulder and was about to speak, when he heard a voice from his side.

"Why are you the one who came flying through the building onto the ground? Don't tell me you can't handle this imp."

Ray turned to see a man who he recognized. "You?"

The man shifted his attention from the thread man to Ray with a scowl.

"You think I'll let you get away after making a fool out of me not just once, but twice." He could still remember all those mocking gazes and soft giggles after Ray had pushed him to the ground. "You think you're a strong aberrant huh? Well I brought someone with the strength of a rank 200. He's just getting warmed up so don't get cocky just because you got a hit." He rubbed his hands together with an evil smirk. He just couldn't wait to see Ray begging on his knees.

"Huh?" Ray could see another man who was standing beside the revengeful man staring at him with a thunderstruck expression.

"He slowly pointed his index finger at Ray. "Y-y-you, it's you. You f-f-fucking b-bastard!" He screamed.

Not just Ray, they all stared at him in confusion.

"Do you know this jerk?" The revengeful man asked.

"Yes. We know each other. I'll recognize him no matter what happens," he spat.

Ray looked around in confusion. "Who? Me? I'm sorry pal, but I don't know you."

The man almost coughed blood when he heard this. The boy who ruined his life was saying that he couldn't recognize much less remember him.

"How can you say that! You ruined my life five months ago in the under ground."

Now that he mentioned this, Ray remembered him and what happened on that day.
