Chapter 35 - Don't judge a book by its cover

The atmosphere had turned dark and the dim moon was slowly embracing the sky. Since it was late, James booked a hotel in Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand.

The hotel was luxurious and beyond description. you won't even notice the darkness outside once you're inside the hotel residency. It also had a wide lighted dragon water fountain at its center.

This wasn't his first time in Thailand so he was used to the environment. He walked briskly towards the receptionist and Luke hurried to meet his pace.

A skinny short middle aged woman on glasses attended to them. "you're welcome, how many I help you?" she spoke with smiles in English when she noticed he was a foreigner.

"I made reservations earlier under the name Mr. Daniels." he replied.

He had booked two rooms before their arrival.

The lady turned to her computer, her hands seemed acquainted with the keys as she made inquiries. "VIP?" she raised her brows in disbelieve.

He was Fucking too young. Most of the VIPs she had seen were middle aged men and women.

James nodded.

"you're very much welcomed sir" she bowed this time. "The security personnels would escort you to your ward..."

VIP guests were normally treated with more respect since they paid more. It was some sort of preferential treatments with high security and Protection ( in case of the press/paparazzi) and comfortability.

"No need. just give me the keys" he ordered with a smiling face and turned to Luke. "I would text you later"

Luke nodded and handed the briefcase over to him.

They collected the keys from the woman and headed in different directions.

His lodge looked like a pent house but smaller. It was indeed absolutely furnished and had every advanced technology needed.

He walked straight to the wardrobe and picked out clothes to wear. After having a shower, he tried calling Mr. Judy again.

"what is it this time?" Judy rudely asked. He had gotten several calls already from crystals company and he was already getting pissed off.

"I'm sorry if I called late. I'm in Bangkok right now". He raised his hand high so as to hook the phone between his shoulder and ear since his two hands were busy. He was trying to operate the refrigerator so as to quench his thirst.

He poured out some water and drank while listening to Mr. Judy.

"so?" Judy replied. it was evident from his voice that he was dizzy and wanted to sleep.

"please give me a chance sir. I really want to do business with you." He pleaded.

Judy chuckled. "I've made up my mind. my Thai company won't do business with you. I don't like the way you..."

"okay I know I might not actually be a wonderful figure to deal with but at least give crystals a chance. You shouldn't judge a book by its cover." James persuaded him.

"Fine, prove yourself. Tomorrow at Pattaya by 3pm." He concluded and cut the call.

"yesss!!" James raised his fists up in the air with his face clouded with victory smiles.

He texted Luke. "prepare for a meeting by 3pm tomorrow."

He was certain he was going to sign a deal tomorrow.

He dropped his phone on the table and jumped on his bed happily.

But then, his smiles disappeared as he thought of what Judy had said earlier. "I don't like the way you....did I do something wrong?"

He questioned no one in particular and rolled over his bed in confusion, there by scattering the sheets and pillows.

The loud bell sounds disrupted his thoughts. "come in!" he yelled jerking off the bed. He walked towards the sitting room to attend to the person on the door.

A uniformed lady walked in pushing a trolley of dishes. She bowed her head as a form of greeting and set the dishes on the dinning.

Tom yum Goong (spicy shrimp soup), Tom kha Kai (chicken in coconut soup), Khao pad ( fried rice).....

"Enjoy our best cuisines..." she bowed again after setting the table.

James nodded with a smile. "get me pad krapow moo saap" he spoke Thai language as he noticed that fried basil and pork weren't on the table.

"Tklng (okay)" She replied in Thai accent smiling. it was wonderful to serve a foreigner who could understand Thai language.

She pushed the trolley along as she left the room.

Before going to bed, he phoned Merl to inform her of his safe trip.
