EIGHT
Merlin almost caused a commotion as she stepped into the hospital, all eyes fell on her. The doctors, visitors and nurses could be seen whispering into each other's ear as they placed a lustful gaze on her.
No one noticed James.
Merlin made issues worse by even daring to wave and produce a charming smile. For a moment, the hospital lost its name and function.
James walked over to Nick at the lobby.
"How's she?" He asked, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"She's at the operation theater." He answered, scratching his eyes.
Then he noticed the lady walking towards them. Her beauty - something he couldn't describe.
For her to be in an operation room meant she wasn't healing days ago.
"Is it that serious?"James asked again but Nick was long gone to the land of imagination. He couldn't take his eyes off Merlin.
"She...she must be a goddess," Nick whispered, his eyes proving lust. James turned to see who it was.
He grabbed her arm as she approached them and introduced her to Nick.
"Nick meet Merlin and Merlin, Nick." he smiled brightly.
She offered him a hand shake but Nick was too frozen to accept it. "I can't shake hands with a goddess," he muttered under his breath.
Merlin released an unnoticed frown.
"We should talk privately," Nick suggested dragging James along with him. They headed towards the Stairs but not before James gave Merlin a wink. Nick was irritated.
"Why on earth are we here?" James shrugged, pacing around.
"Who's that?" Nick wanted an explanation.
James looked at him in disbelief. 'Did he really ask me that? I just introduced her to him.'
"Merlin. She is Merlin." He pointed out hoping Nick did get that into his dull brain.
"I fucking don't care of her name! Just what is she?" Nick asked, almost shouting. She can't be human. See how fucking pretty she is, with those round shapes and everything. He thought in his head.
"I don't get it. Meaning?" James queried.
"Are you blind? The aura around her is different. She can't be human and she's fucking damn pretty!" Nick complained.
James laughed. Nick really is something.
"I told you she's pretty. Damn pretty. Don't get too involved with her, she's mine." James warned him.
Nick stared at him with disdain. 'James must be out of his mind, he'd run away from her Instead. And so what if she's pretty? I don't care.'
"You shouldn't have brought her here." Nick confronted him.
"Why?"
"Are you blind?" Nick asked again, "She's causing commotions everywhere. The doctors aren't even concentrating. She's using her charms." Nick explained as he pointed at the direction of people staring at Merlin.
"That's not her fault. They are only appreciating her beauty. Who wouldn't?" James defended.
Nick knew his friend was lost. Further arguments would only make things worse and Joy needed attention not that damn Merlin.
"Okay. She has to leave." Nick concluded, letting out a heavy sigh.
James rolled his eyes at him.
"That's the least you can do for joy. And besides you can still meet her later," Nick explained.
"Okay then. See you tomorrow." James replied walking out.
Nick stood dumbfounded. "When I said she should leave, I definitely didn't mean you should go with her..." He called after him.
"Come back here!" He ordered but James was out of sight. Or maybe, out of his mind!...
