There was no sound in the room other than the ticking of the clock. Also, some small lights are deliberately left on so that the house is not too dark. And on that sofa was seen a man who was lying down with a blanket that covered half of his body.
He stared at the ceiling of the house with his gaze wandering somewhere. His hands were placed on his chest while holding that white blanket. He looked around him. Pay attention to every side of the room, and see every object that is also in that room. He thought that he would never be able to see all those things again nor be able to sleep on this sofa again.
He thought that he would never come back again. But all that is wrong, all his assumptions are wrong. He came back to this place...
to this home.
All because the woman who had searched for him, cried for him, and held his hand brought him back to this house. All of that was of course like a dream for him. Even more so after their fighting at the time.
What made that woman look for him?
What made that woman cry for him?
What made that woman want to bring him back to this house?
That was the question that was in his head at the moment. However, he put all those questions aside and was more concerned with his heart at this time. For him what his heart was feeling right now was far more important than all the questions in his head.
His right-hand holds his chest. He could feel his heart beating fast. He never knew, if his heart could beat like this. He never even thought that his heart would beat again.
"How funny..." muttered Navarro with a faint smile on his face.
He then turned around his return to the television. He pulled that blanket up to cover his whole body. He closed his eyes slowly preparing to dive into dreamland.
Tick... Tock... Tick... Tock...
The ticking sound of the clock became lullaby music for him. The one he always listened to every night. Slowly the sound of the ticking clock began to sound faintly indicating that he had begun to enter dreamland.
But he suddenly furrowed his eyebrows. He felt something tugging at his blankets. And it succeeded in making him feel disturbed. "What the hel--"
"Navarro..."
DEG!
In just a matter of seconds, he immediately opened his eyes when he heard that voice. He then changed his sleeping position by turning over onto his back. "K-Keira?"
He was very surprised to see Keira standing behind him. Keira was also the one who had tugged the blanket a few seconds ago.
Keira scratched the back of her head. "Are you asleep? Have I bothered you?" asked Keira feeling uneasy.
Navarro woke up from his sleep, he sat on the sofa. Then shook his head. "No, you didn't bother me at all. I thought you were asleep," said Navarro.
It was already in the middle of the night and usually, at this time Keira would already be asleep. That's why he said that to Keira. Then how did Navarro know Keira's bedtime? Well, this is his little secret but sometimes he checks it by hearing a voice from behind Keira's bedroom door.
If Keira isn't sleeping then he will hear the sound of a music box from inside Keira's room. Yeah, Keira often plays a music box that can help Keira fall asleep faster. It may sound childish but it's very effective for Keira especially lately since she has insomnia.
Navarro saw Keira who was squeezing the hem of her shirt with her head down. "Do you need anything?"
Keira nodded. "Yeah..."
"What is it? I'll get it for yo--"
"Do you want to sleep in my room?" said Keira quickly then turned her face away.
DEG!
Navarro froze then and with his mouth slightly open. What a minute, had he heard wrong?
Is he dreaming or something?
He was completely blank at the moment and it was all because of Keira, the woman who was still standing in front of him and was reluctant to look at him. "K-Keira, are you serio--"
"Forget it!" Keira clenched her fists. "J-Just forget my weird words. I'm sorry for bothering you, good night!"
Keira as quickly as possible walked away from the television room with her whole face which was red. She cursed herself for shamelessly saying that to Navarro. She had destroyed her pride!
Now how was she supposed to look Navarro in the face?!
Navarro must have considered her a shameless woman! After being rude to Navarro now she even asked Navarro to sleep in her bedroom, what kind of woman is she?!
Keira bit her lip. "Shit! I really have no sham--"
"Keira..."
She who originally wanted to open the door of her bedroom immediately froze. When she heard a voice she recognized so well right behind her. Oh God! She wished she would disappear right now.
Gathering all her remaining pride she slowly turned around. And that's when she saw Navarro standing behind her only inches away.
Keira swallowed hard. She felt nervous, especially those green eyes that were staring at her in the darkness. "A-Ah, a few minutes ago I was just kiddin--"
"Is it okay?"
"Huh?"
"If I sleep in your room..." said Navarro walking towards Keira who was frozen.
...
Her hazel eyes stared at the ceiling of her bedroom, her hands squeezing the blanket that covered half of her body. The ceiling of her bedroom looks more interesting at this time. She swallowed her saliva wetting her suddenly dry throat.
The nervousness was evident on her pretty face as her heartbeat was rumbling. She slowly glanced at the man lying beside her who was also looking at the ceiling of her bedroom.
Slowly the man turned his head. Seeing that she quickly looked the other way. "It's very comfortable," said the husky voice.
"H-Huh?" blanked Keira. Her brain is currently unable to function properly.
"Sleeping on this bed feels very comfortable," said Navarro, turning to look at Keira.
Yeah, as you can see right now Keira and Navarro are in the same bedroom and sleeping in the same bed also under the same blanket.
It was because a few minutes ago Navarro accepted Keira's request. Keira was very surprised when Navarro agreed to sleep in her bedroom. Even though at first she thought that Navarro would reject her and also thought she had embarrassed herself.
But that's all wrong. Because the two of them were currently sleeping side by side on that bed.
"A-Ah, really? Much better than that sofa, right?" said Keira.
Navarro chuckled. "Yeah, this is much better."
The reason she asked Navarro to sleep in her bedroom was that she felt sorry for Navarro who had to sleep on the sofa every night. Considering sleeping on the couch must be very uncomfortable and she felt guilty about it. But is it true only because of that?
Well, only Keira knows the answer.
Keira turned. She looked at Navarro's face which was so perfect; that long eyelashes, that sharp nose, and that firm jaw. Everything seems to be perfectly carved like a statue of a Greek god. It was the first time she had seen Navarro this close and now she realized how perfect that face was.
Navarro turned his head again making his eyes meet Keira's hazel eyes. Unlike before, this time Keira didn't avert her eyes.
"Keira, what do you think about vampires?" asked Navarro.
"Vampire? Hmmm... they're scary," replied Keira.
Navarro was silent for a moment. "You're right, they're scary..."
Well, every human who encounters a blood-sucking creature will surely run away. That's because that creature is very scary and able to kill them. They're just like any other monster...
Dangerous and scary.
"But I don't hate them," said Keira suddenly.
"W-Why? They're dangerous."
Keira smiled slightly. "They are. But I'm interested in them. I even have a book about them," chuckled Keira. "Is it weird isn't it? But you know, maybe some of them don't want to be like that."
She admits that vampires are scary and dangerous creatures. And that's what made her even more interested in this mythological creature, and also made her find out more about this creature.
And she found one very interesting thing, that is not all of them are born as vampire.
Keira suddenly became uncomfortable. "Hehehe... pardon my unimportant chatter," when it comes to those blood-sucking creatures she will surely forget herself.
Navarro looked at Keira with a different gaze. "Can I kiss you?"
DEG!
Keira gulped. Her heart almost stopped beating at that moment. "K-Kiss me?" stuttered Keira. "Why do you ask?"
"Because you will get mad if I don't ask," said Navarro.
Keira was at a loss for words right now. Her brain suddenly stopped working, she couldn't even explain how she felt right now. It had never crossed her mind that Navarro would ask her like this.
Keira looked at Navarro. "O-Okay..."
Don't ask what she's thinking right now because her mouth seems to have moved on its own.
GRAB!
Navarro pulled Keira's waist under the blanket. It eroded the distance between them and made their bodies pressed against each other. That's when those two lips met and touch each other.
Keira looked at Navarro who closed his eyes. Navarro kissed her lips so gently, making Keira slowly close her eyes. She could feel Navarro's hand gently squeezing her waist. Keira put her hands on Navarro's chest. There was no passion between the kisses. Keira only felt softness before Navarro slowly moved his lips away from Keira.
The kiss was so short but felt so long.
They exchanged glances without saying anything as if lost in each other's eyes.
GRAB!
Navarro hugged Keira tightly. Making Keira's head right on his chest. "I was wrong, this is much better," Navarro rubbed Keira's back.
Keira's heart pounded, and she returned Navarro's hug. A smile slowly appeared on Keira's face.
Look who she has lied to...
It turned out that the sofa wasn't the main reason but rather that she wanted to be near Navarro. Confirming that Navarro is indeed back with her. But that kiss was far beyond her expectations.
Then did she hate it?
No, she didn't hate it at all.
"Yeah, this is much better..." muttered Keira and buried her face against Navarro's chest.
