Upon arriving at the arena, Kay and Shiina were met with crowded and cramped conditions. The turnout for the practice tournament was larger than expected, but it did not affect their plans.
"Well, here we are," Shiina said, looking around.
"Yeah, it's pretty packed," Kay replied, surveying the crowd. "I guess a lot of people are interested in seeing how the competition is shaping up."
"I suppose so," Shiina replied.
Kay nodded a little bit in response to Shiina's reply.
The two of them made their way towards their respective rooms to prepare for their matches. As they parted ways, Shiina wished Kay luck before disappearing into her own room.
"Good luck, Kay..."
Kay entered his own room, which contained a camera, a screen projector, a sofa, a speaker and some lockers. He sat on the sofa, trying to focus and prepare for his own match. After what seemed like an interminable wait, the screen projector finally flickered to life, illuminating the room with its glowing display.
