Staring through the window, he found Alice just lying on the ground, not moving at all. With a closer look, he could find a small bloodstain around her open mouth.
Shooting out of Mors's body, Genn swiftly traveled through the door, which pulled Mors out of shock. Shaking the shock off, Mors tried the door and found it unlocked.
Quickly traveling in, Mors dropped the groceries and quickly looked over Alice to find her breathing weirdly smoothly. Sleeping soundly on the cold floor didn't seem like the best option so with Genn hovering, Mors put Alice onto her bed.
With a deep sigh, Mors quickly asked out, "Afiero, can you look over her while I get the door?"
"Sure", said Afiero as he quickly hopped out of Mors's body.
With Aferio looking over Alice, Mors traveled back to the front door and locked it. It took a few moments, but eventually, the flimsy lock clicked. Then grabbing the groceries and traveled back to the table area to help Alice.
Returning, Mors found Alice gone. Realizing that she probably passed out and is in her bed.
Even though Mors felt great concern over Alice, he quickly realized he couldn't really help. The herb might help. But anything he did wouldn't. And she had Afeiro looking over her, which was a lot better then anything he could have done.
Maybe at this moment, he, in his slightly tired state, forgot that ghosts don't really have the ability to touch Alice.
He totally forgot about the ghosts not being able to touch Alice.
Sitting down on the table chair, Mors took a deep breath as his eyes began to droop slightly. Maybe he should just go to sleep, but the sun was still up slightly, so Mors decided to look at the crystal thing again.
Diving into the intricacies of the crystal's patterns, Mors didn't even notice the night pass.
…
Mors watched as energy moved in through the model crystal, causing some patterns to light up and some to dim. As he stared in, Mors felt someone tap his shoulder, bringing him back to the real world.
Quickly picking up his head, he found Alice standing behind him. Swiftly standing up, Mors checked over Alice before asking, "How are you feeling?"
"I am fine at the moment. Sorry for the scare yesterday. I got really tired really quickly and passed out standing up… The blood and such were the consequences of passing out standing up." replied Alice with a weak voice as she stood firmly in place.
Relief filled Mors as he realized he didn't have to rush to obtain the herb. He thought that he wouldn't be able to train before grabbing the herb, which would have definitely ended in failure.
But after a thought, Mors commented, "it's probably best to take it easy. Even though we weren't able to get the herb, we got a plan to get it."
It was then that Mors felt a ghost appear, but he couldn't see it. But that was just for a moment, since Spir decided to actually appear in front of Mors and Alice.
With his abrupt appearance seeming to startle Alice, Spir quickly stated, "I am sorry for the scare," before looking at Mors.
With a glow in his eyes, Spir continued, "I think it's time to begin basic training!"
"And what does that entail? Also, where are we supposed to train?" Mors quickly questioned Spir since he never really told him about the training… only that it would take about a week.
The excitement in Spir's eyes when he said, "Don't worry about it," brought chills down Mors's back. He could almost imagine that hidden behind the cloth mask, Spir had a gigantic smile on his face.
"First and foremost, since you won't be killing anyone, We will be working on hiding," announced Spir, as he quickly moved to the middle of the room.
Mors watched as Spir's eyes shut as he tilted his head back. With his face pointing toward the ceiling, he proclaimed, "let's see how good you are at hiding with a game of hide-and-seek tag. I'll seek first… you got 3 minutes."
Scanning the room, Mors looked for anywhere to easily hide but found most of the room was open.
With Spir's countdown continuing, Mors ran to the other room under Alice's eyes. Eventually, he came up with hiding under his bed since it was at least more hidden.
Passing through the bedroom door, Mors heard Spir say, "two minutes!" Feeling proud of his hiding skills for only needing a minute to hide, Mors slid under the bed.
But that quickly faded since he found a fatal flaw in his hiding place. He didn't exactly fit as his feet dangling out.
So with around about two minutes, Mors thought he could maybe try another better spot.
Quickly looking around the bedroom section of the apartment, he searched for another hiding spot.
The stress started to kick in as Spir announced, "One minute left!" After what seemed like a few seconds, Mors quickly raced a crossed the room toward the small food closet.
Mors moved the food on the floor to the side slightly and quickly squeezed into the small room. With the door closing, Spir quickly announced, "fifteen!"
Mors then held his breath as Spir loudly announced to this who could hear the ghost, "fourteen, thirteen, twelve…" in a rhythmic beat.
With the number quickly descending, Mors quickly found himself running out of breath. By three, he quickly took a huge gasp as he realized he had made a mistake.
His breath was not infinite, and with his running around, his breathing had been accelerated. He now just had to hope he wouldn't be caught too quickly.
With the countdown reaching zero, Mors heard nothing. Absolutely nothing. Spir hovered a crossed the room. Everything was silent as Mors waited to be caught.
Knowing he was back in a corner, Mors had to play the anxiety edition of the waiting game.
But that didn't last long, as within what seemed like minutes of fear, which were seconds of reality, Spir peered through the door.
Quietly the two just stared at each other, waiting for the other to speak. With the wait, Mors thought drifted to the realm of, 'maybe he doesn't see me….'
But with all good things, they must come to an end as Spir blankly asked, "What do you think you did wrong?"
Sighing, Mors gloomily said, "Was it my gasp of air?"
"Yes, but there is something else you did wrong," Spir said with what seemed like slight amounts of joy in his voice.
Hearing that puzzled Mors, and he thought that the loud gasp of air was it, and this was a good hiding spot. After a few minutes, Mors just shook his head in confusion.
Seeing the head shake and that Mors seemed to give up, Spir decided to elaborate, "For one, your loud steps as you moved from spot to spot. Two, your lack of patience, as under the bed, would have been a better choice had you don't it correctly."
With confusion, Mors quickly interjected with, "how is the-"
Continuing, Spir noted, "Three, hiding behind a door is too obvious. If someone was to see you run into a room and you just disappear, they would check behind doors."
Shock head Mor's heart as he quickly realized it was true. He just assumed since it was just a small storage closet, no one would look…
Finally, Spir announced, "Finally, the worst part was you didn't have a backup plan in case you were noticed. I never touched you."
With Mors still in a state of realization, Spir quickly said, "it's your turn to seek while I hide. Also, as a handy cap, so you can learn and actually find me, I will be in the other room."
"Wait, what?" Mor quickly asked, but was ignored as Spir said, "Start from sixty," as he moved back through the door.
With that, Mors started counting down while trying to understand everything Spir said. Wouldn't running out get you caught, like they are close now. How would he get enough time to hide?
But the time to think about it slowly ran out as he reached zero, as he loudly announced, "Zero!"
Exiting the food closet to the bright surroundings, Mors quickly left the bedroom as he quickly entered the other room.
To his surprise, the other room was completely darkened. Looking over to where the windows were supposed to be, he could see where the curtain fabric blocked the light.
Seeing that it would be hard to look around in the dark, Mors quickly traveled over to the window to move the curtains back as he illuminated the room.
Looking around, Mors quickly found that he could see that the room had been shifted around quickly, leaving spaces where he couldn't see.
The table was on its side, cabinet doors were open, and chairs were moved. Even if they didn't really help in hiding, they did create some small cover.
'This will be easy,' came to mind as Mors quickly moved towards the opposite side of the room since it would reveal a lot of the hiding spots.
But troubling enough, as soon as Mors got to the other side, he couldn't see Spir.
So with increasing frustration levels, Mors searched and searched around the object and cabinets. He even considered that maybe Spir cheated and was hiding down a floor.
Shaking his head, Mors realized that Spir wouldn't do that since this was a lesson, and he was trying to teach him something.
Then he realized that Spir could be just quickly switching sides of the table whenever Mors crossed over. But as Mors tested this theory, he found this false.
After a few minutes, Alice appeared from a dark corner near the door and asked, "Do you give up?"
