A few minutes earlier.
As Garen was hit by the fireball a few parts of his clothes were starting to catch on fire, but luckily the powerful impact of the skill sends him rolling on the ground, which put out the burning parts.
Still, he's in a terrible state, the exhaustion of the rush to the center of the forest, the anxiety of being chased after by an assassin, the gigantic pain from his burned arm.
'If this thing could at least do something.' Screamed Garen in his mid as he remembered the skill that he gained from his benefactor.
Skill: One with the Tower.
You became one with the Tower.
But this was not the time to slash at this useless thing. He gathered all his strength and got to his feet. The pain in his arm was immense, the exhaustion in his body was tremendous.
But still, he'd to move on, he'd to continue, he'd to live, so he could bring a salvation to his family.
He looked around and saw that the enemies weren't paying attention to him, so he started rushing to the cave that he saw before. The place looked magical, it's a frozen cave in a sunny forest.
He'd to get there to have a chance of winning. So, he moved his body in the direction, the place was one mile away, so it would take a while to reached.
He hoped that enemies were going to eliminate themselves while he rushes to the cave, but he knew that luck wasn't always at his side.
He walked and walked, he tried to run, but his body has already reached its limit, so he couldn't. Even while walking, his speed was becoming slower and slower.
After a few minutes he heard a gunshot coming from the sky, he looked up and saw again the faces of the eliminated enemies.
"This is already the last day. I'm so close." Garen mumbled, as he looked back and saw the holographic wall closer than ever, it'd take less than five hours to reach the center.
"If I can get to the cave, I'll be able to rest for a few hours, with that out of the way I can win." He said while still moving towards the cave.
He's close to the cave, but he's moving so slowly that he thought that he'd not be able to get to the cave before the fight ended, so he looked back to see how that was going.
"Huh. Look at that, even luck is on my side." He chuckled as he saw all the enemies' bodies flickering, and the ice woman was the last to disappear.
He knew that he couldn't stop here as other enemies could appear at any moment. He felt his body becoming hot as he saw a chance of winning after resting.
So, with the regained strength of the adrenaline pumping through his veins, he walked towards the cave, his final resting place, as he saw the last phrase in the sky.
Survivors remaining: 2 |
…
"I finally reached. Mom, Dad, and Cait, I'm close to winning." He said as he entered the cave, his body screaming for him to stop, but his willpower was stronger.
He searched for a good place to lie down, but at this moment he felt something in his throat pushing him back.
He looked down and there was a string there, the string was pushing his whole body backwards, but there was something behind him, forcing him forward.
So, the string was forcing its way in his neck, he couldn't breathe, and his body wasn't in a condition to fight back, his whole body was going limp.
He saw the faces of his family looking back at him with disappointment, he saw her face looking back at him with disgust, he knew that he couldn't stop there, he'd to keep fighting.
But that was it, only in his thoughts could he fight back as his body was already exhausted, he fell to the ground and there was no movement after that.
There was the end of the line, there was the place where his dreams were crushed, there was the place where all would end. Or at least that was what he thought, but the next moment a new line of text appeared at his screen.
