"It's almost been two years..."
Selene muttered as she stared out of the window with eyes of melancholy.
Two years and her appearance took a great turn. From a Young girl to a genuine young lady. Her beauty was already eye-catching since childhood, but now that Selene was in her mid-teens, her beauty surpassed everyone under the heavens as her father commented, which was technically not wrong. Her hair was at the same length, but it looked glossier and smooth, her previously flat chest was now endowed with growth and have been developing more at a relatively fast rate, her face still had lingering baby fat but it was nonetheless beautiful in every single angle, her figure also was something that ladies her age would kill to have and her height obviously taller than her thirteen year old self, standing at 168cm.
It was a great change for just two years, but it was a welcome one that most people and herself liked. That's what happens in all of people's teenage years, they change at a rapid rate.
It's also been two years since she met Theo as Dragon for the first time, two years since they beat the Kobold dungeon, two years since they defeated the Red Beast, Spartacus, and two years since their vow under the moonlit sky.
He better be fixing the stuff on his side, all I got is a fake a*s letter for him every year for my birthday. He's definitely scheming something.
Selene frowns inadvertently thinking of Theo, believing that he was cooking up a scheme or some kind of nasty prank when they finally meet in a month
Though, she'd be sadly let down because there would be no such thing when they meet.
Theo was actually just busy focusing on training, trying to win the bet by gathering as much "achievements'' as possible and regularly visiting the orphanage, so he didn't have time to cook up any kind of scheme whatsoever.
Even Selene thought that maybe Theo was just doing his best and giving it his all for the sake of their ambitions and vows, which made her feel bad for even doubting Theo.
Maybe I'm too harsh on him..... I did feel his feelings at our last resonance.... he definitely thinks of me kindly....
Selene sighed in frustration
But there was no doubt he's the d*ckhead TankDragon from the past life. I'd say that's a good enough reason for doubting him! He's also a bully in this life, of course I'm doubting that f*cker! Maybe he's even worse now!
From being frustrated, Selene now was angry at the past experience he had with Theo, not knowing that she had three other people in the same room commentating at the sight of Selene's internal struggle, who also had gone into great change since the time they first met Selene.
"Selene's been like this for the past month after finding out that her fiance is visiting her for her 16th birthday. Shouldn't we snap her back to reality? I'm worried that she might overload herself from overthinking." Matilda whispered to Violet who was sipping her tea.
"Leave her be, she just misses him a lot. Despite all the times she bad mouthed her fiance, she never fails to comliment him the same amount or sometimes even more." Violet said calmly as she took another sip of her tea.
Ella nodded at Violet's comment
"I agree with Violet, The amount of times she changes when speaking about Prince Theodore is unbelievably instantaneous. One second you see her clenching her fist in anger and another second she's pointing her fingers at each other like an innocent shy puppy. I find this trait of hers really charming."
Ella said as she warmly looked at Selene who was in her own world.
Ella was the only one who spoke formally to Selene, while the other two were comfortable enough to call Selene by her first name whenever they were in private.
Matilda propped her elbow on the table and sighed.
"Sigh, When can I have love like that? All the guys I've met are all too weak willed, snakes in sheep's clothing and arrogant pricks that think that they're on the top of the world." Matilda said in a snide tone
Violet who was beside her nudged her in return.
"Behave Matilda, I don't want to see your mother hanging you upside down a tree again, because of your unnecessary comments."
"Who cares, it's only us four, I'm here to be myself, so let me be" Matilda said with a pout.
"Hahaha.." Ella laughed helplessly at her childhood friend's exchange.
All four of them would regularly hang out twice or even sometimes three times a week.
They mostly visit Violet's place in the capital but they would also sometimes get invited to the Imperial palace where Selene lived, which terrified Matilda and Ella greatly, especially Ella ,who was the closest person to being a commoner and raised like one because of her parents background, she almost fainted several times when she first visited the Palace, but got used to it when they're visit became more frequent.
Selene appreciated the three's company greatly, she enjoyed the relaxing time she had with them even if they'd only spent a few hours at a time, nonetheless the experience was refreshing.
Selene felt that they were all good people and hoped that they'd stay the same till the end.
But, Selene wasn't thinking of her friendship with the three, instead, she was thinking of the man that has occupied her mind for the past month.
Too bad for him I've been avidly increasing my achievements so I'm doubtful he'd be able to surpass me when I'm already this rich!
From sadness to nostalgia to annoyance to frustration to doubt to feeling bad to anger and now excited. Selene's emotions turn from one thing to another every thought that passes through her mind. Her rationality barely clings to her when Theo was the subject she had in mind.
".. -oung lady.... Young lady..... Young lady....! Young lady Selene!"
"AHHH!! Elsa! you scared me! You didn't need to shout!" Selene
Selene retorted back at Elsa who was right beside her with a twitching brow.
"I've been calling out to you for the past minute, no matter what I did you weren't responding My Lady. Please, forgive this servant" Elsa said formally as she knelt down on the ground.
Ah f*ck, Elsa I'm so sorry. It's all Theo's fault! I'll give him a piece of my mind when I meet him!
Selene somehow pinned her mistakes on Theo for no particular reason.
Elsa stood up and went close to Selene's ear, intending to deliver her a message in secret.
Selene, who always gets her message delivered this way, when her family contacts her or if she has to do something important, leaned closer towards Elsa's face with her ear.
"His imperial highness Theodore is arriving in an h-!"
Selene cuts Elsa off by standing up abruptly from her seat and shouting
"HOW!? My birthday is still a week away!"
He must be planning something! Selene thought as she bit her nails in suspicion.
"He must have missed you Young Lady Selene" Elsa said calmly with her eyes closed
Elsa's words froze Selene on the spot, her gears came to a halt.
"Oh Selene froze again" Matilda commented.
"Prince Theodore, how can you do this to our Selene? Im extremely jealous, i wish i can get that kind of reaction from her as well" Violet said with a frown, while her hand was on her cheek
Matilda nodded with her arms crossed
"Um um, agreed, I find it absolutely adorable"
Ella also nodded with the other two.
Selene turned to the three, and spoke spontaneously while bowing slightly.
"I'm sorry that we have to end it here! I have to prepare for my Fiancé's arrival! I'll see you again around next week!"
Selene bolted out of the room, hurrying herself out of the room to the carriage that was parked for her in front of the estate, which Elsa prepared in advance predicting Selene's reaction towards the message she brought
****
"There she goes" Violet after taking a final sip of her tea.
"We must meet this imperial Prince no matter what" matilda mentioned while intertwining her fingers while propped on the table
"Yeah, I want to see for myself if everything Selene said was true"
"Violet you take the lead, I don't want to be an offering if I offend him" Violet said with a big smile on her face.
"Just because I'm the sole heir to the Duke title doesn't mean I'm unaffected by everything I do, especially anything related to the Prince of Virtus."
Violet commented, as she disapprovingly stared at Matilda
"But, that doesn't mean I'll look away at my Savior's plight. If that man ever gives Selene one single tear drop down her face, Prince of Virtus or not, I'll rip his manhood from his groin and shove it down his throat."
""....""
After hearing from her father that she was saved by Selene, she became indebted to her and relented to any request of Selene no matter how small and bit, luckily Selene wasn't one to exploit people when their clearly kind people so Selene generally just ask for her time and desserts which made Violet more fond of her.
That fondness slowly evolved to her current state, a friend that would do anything Selene would ask her no matter how absurd if it meant for her well being.
She also found Selene extremely charming and likable as a person more so than her two childhood friends, making her the the first and number one fan of Selene.
The two even realized that their childhood friend has lost a screw since meeting Selene.
Violet after seeing the awkward reaction of her two friends, realized her slip up and coughed to avert the attention from her
"Ehem, How about we finish up here and be on our way? I have lessons in about an hour."
Violet said while patting her lips with a handkerchief.
She continued talking as she stood up from her seat.
"I know that Matilda's staying for the night, so both of us are escorting you to your carriage Ella" Violet said as she looked away in embarrassment
Both of Violet's friends nodded with a smile on her face, noticing the visible red tint on Violet's ears.
