Chapter 12 - The Founding (I)

"First, I need a right-hand man, someone smart," Kate thought to herself. "I need a researcher. Dr. Mei might be perfect for the job."

For the first time, Kate looked at the Character Creation Tab within the Void Archives. "So, I need one full Character Card for the character, an Elemental Card for their element, and Skill Cards for their magical abilities," she thought. "There's so much to find," Kate said aloud.

"For now, let's practice the Finger of Flowery Swords," Kate thought to herself. "The method of practicing it has changed. I need to form a Flower Spirit Orb, feed it to a female to enrich it with their Qi, and once it's ready, I can just take the orb back and wait for my Flowery Spirit to be born."

With this in mind, Kate began to focus her energy. She sat cross-legged, closing her eyes and concentrating on forming the Flower Spirit Orb. Her hands moved in intricate patterns, drawing upon the techniques Xie Yan had given her. Slowly, a glowing orb began to take shape in front of her, shimmering with an ethereal light.

After a long time, Kate opened her eyes and saw a translucent orb floating in front of her. "I don't know how long it has been, but I need to go back now and feed this to Ms. Su Yan," Kate said, preparing to leave the Void Archives.

A long time had passed since entering the Legacy Cave. The atmosphere within the cave had become tense and chaotic. Su Yan and the disciples of the High Heaven Pavilion found themselves engaged in a fierce battle against a massive monster tortoise. The creature had been disturbed from its slumber by an unwitting disciple, and now it was enraged and relentless.

The tortoise's thick, armored shell deflected their attacks, and its powerful movements sent shockwaves through the cave. Despite their combined efforts, the High Heaven Pavilion disciples struggled to make any significant impact.

"Tch! This tortoise is so hard to kill," one of the disciples exclaimed in frustration, panting heavily as he dodged another swipe from the tortoise's massive claws.

Realizing the dire situation, Su Yan made a swift decision. "High Heaven disciples, retreat!" she commanded, her voice cutting through the clamor of battle.

The disciples began to pull back, moving away from the tortoise with cautious haste. The creature roared in fury, its eyes blazing with anger as it advanced toward them.

As they retreated, Kate, who had been in the Void Archives Came out just in time to see the disciples falling back and the tortoise bearing down on them.

"What's going on?" Kate asked, quickly assessing the situation.

"We disturbed its sleep, and now it's out of control," Su Yan explained, her expression grim. "Our attacks aren't making a dent in its shell."

Kate's eyes narrowed as she focused on the tortoise. She knew she had to act quickly to prevent further harm to her comrades.

Kate watched the battle unfold from above, her eyes narrowing. "Yang Kai is the one who will take care of this thing," she thought.

"Sister Su, please hold this monster for a minute. I'll take care of it," Kate called out.

Su Yan nodded confidently. "Leave it to me," she replied, diving back into the fray.

From her vantage point in the sky, Kate saw Su Yan struggling against the tortoise. "Once Yang Kai takes care of it, I'll kill it immediately," she thought, her eyes following every move.

Just as the tortoise overpowered Su Yan, Yang Kai intervened, saving her and creating an opening.

Kate watched as Yang Kai gathered a massive amount of energy in his hand. With a swift motion, he unleashed his new martial skill, the Stellar Streak, and punched the tortoise's head. The impact created a huge hole in the creature's skull, but it wasn't enough to kill it.

Kate, floating above the massive tortoise, summoned Vimana swiftly into position. She wasted no time and initiated the deployment sequence for an ancient nuclear warhead a relic of destructive power from her arsenal.

As the warhead descended, Yang Kai's warning echoed in her mind. "It's all yours, Kate!"

The other disciples, warned by Su Yan, kept their distance, watching in anticipation and awe as Kate executed her plan with precision.

The warhead struck the tortoise's vulnerable spot with explosive force. A blinding flash followed by a deafening roar engulfed the area as the ancient nuclear weapon detonated. The ground trembled violently under the shockwave, and a mushroom cloud billowed into the sky.

When the smoke cleared, all that remained of the monstrous tortoise was a crater where it once stood a testament to the overwhelming power Kate had wielded.

Descending from Vimana, Kate looked around at the stunned faces of her comrades. "That should take care of it," she said, her voice calm but filled with relief.

Yang Kai managed a weak smile, still recovering from the strain of his earlier attack. "Impressive," he managed to say. "You really know how to make an entrance."

Su Yan approached, her expression a mix of gratitude and admiration. "Thank you, Kate. You saved us all."

Kate nodded, acknowledging their thanks. "It was a team effort. Now, let's make sure there are no more surprises waiting for us."

With the threat neutralized, the High Heaven Pavilion disciples gathered together, their spirits lifted by their victory and newfound respect for Kate's formidable abilities.

Kate's display of power left a deep impression across the various sects. In her own High Heaven Pavilion, admiration and respect flourished among the disciples. They marveled at her strength and skill, inspired by her courage and decisive action in facing the monstrous tortoise. Many looked up to her, eager to learn from her example and prove themselves worthy in their own right.

However, beyond the High Heaven Pavilion, in rival sects and among other factions, Kate's demonstration sparked a mix of jealousy and fear. Some sects viewed her as a threat, worried about the potential imbalance of power her abilities could bring. Others envied the High Heaven Pavilion for having such a formidable cultivator in their ranks.

Whispers of Kate's prowess spread far and wide, becoming the subject of both awe and apprehension among cultivators across the realm. Her actions that day not only solidified her reputation but also set a new standard for what was possible in the ongoing struggles between sects and factions.

As Kate continued to navigate this world, her presence and abilities would continue to provoke reactions ranging from admiration to jealousy, shaping the dynamics of the martial world around her.

"Sister Su, here," Kate said, presenting the Flowery Spirit Orb to Su Yan.

"What is this?" Su Yan asked, taking the orb from Kate's hands.

"Please trust me and swallow it whole. It will help me a lot," Kate said, her tone filled with reassurance and urgency.

Su Yan hesitated briefly, studying Kate's earnest expression. After a moment, she nodded and swallowed the orb without further question, placing her trust in Kate's judgment and the mysterious object she had given her.

"Thanks, I'll wait for you at the top," Kate said, her voice carrying across the battlefield. With that, she ascended swiftly towards Vimana, leaving the others astonished by her speed and departure.

"What top?" Su Yan said, puzzled by Kate's words.

"Maybe that is the way," Yang Kai suggested, pointing towards the descending golden stairway leading up into the sky.

In the sky, Kate sat on the Vimana, watching the disciples climb the golden stairs. "I will copy the Golden Dragon's Source and the Ice Phoenix. After that, I need to create more Flowery Spirit Orbs and give them to my favorite characters," she thought to herself with a weird smile and laugh. Realizing her odd behavior, she quickly regained her composure, adopting a serious expression.

"I can use the four remaining sets of cards and hope there's an Element card among them," Kate thought to herself while watching the struggling disciples. "In the Manhua, Sister Su should be the first one to reach the top," she said. After some time, she controlled the Vimana to fly towards the building at the top of the golden stairs.

Kate waited for Su Yan to reach the top for a while. Once Su Yan arrived, all the female cultivators were thrown back by a strong gust of wind. Kate jumped towards Su Yan.

"Kate?" Su Yan said, catching her breath.

"Ms. Su," Kate replied.

Su Yan raised an eyebrow, "You call me by multiple names. Sometimes it's Elder Sister, now it's Ms. Su."

Kate smiled, "I guess it depends on the situation. But either way, I'm glad you made it."

"Then please explore this place first," Kate said to Su Yan.

"What about you?" Su Yan asked, still looking confused.

"Don't mind me. I'm here just to search for something," Kate replied as she headed towards the main building, leaving Su Yan behind, puzzled.

Inside the main building, Kate's eyes widened as she saw the glowing gold and blue orbs floating in the air. "The inheritance... I can't believe it," she whispered, staring at the two radiant orbs. "The mini dragon and phoenix inside these are so cute," she added with a smile, watching the tiny creatures swirling inside the orbs.

Kate aimed both her hands towards the two orbs and concentrated. "I, Kate Apocalypse, command you to copy these two no matter the sacrifice," she declared.

The Void Archives glowed blindingly bright and projected a screen in front of her: "To copy both the inheritance, you need to sacrifice all of your remaining lifespan." Kate read the message, her face set with determination. She agreed without hesitation.

Instantly, pain wracked her body. Her flesh tore open with deep cuts, and blood poured from her mouth, eyes, ears, and nose. Kate coughed, struggling to stay conscious through the agony. She could feel her life force draining away, but she remained resolute, driven by her unwavering resolve to gain the power she sought.

After some time, Su Yan entered the main building, her eyes widening at the sight of blood splattered all over the place. In the middle of the room rested a familiar item. "This is Kate's artifact," Su Yan thought to herself.

"KATE!" she called out, receiving no reply. Panic began to set in as she scanned the room. "Where is she?" Su Yan muttered, her gaze shifting to the two floating orbs. "Is this the inheritance? What happened to Kate?" she wondered, her heart pounding with worry and confusion. The silence of the room pressed in on her, amplifying her anxiety as she tried to piece together the events that had transpired.

Meanwhile, inside the Void Archives, Kate lay on the floor, catching her breath. "The Dragon and Phoenix Inheritance is too much for my body to bear," she thought, wincing from the pain. "I need a body cultivation technique, like the one Xie Yan got."

In response to her thoughts, the Void Archives presented a book titled Everlasting Dominating Fist Technique. Kate reached for it, her hands trembling. "This better help," she muttered, starting to read through the pages, determined to strengthen her body and harness the power of her new inheritances.

"It's good that the Void Archives eliminates the requirements or preparation to practice techniques," Kate remarked, her eyes scanning the pages of the Everlasting Dominating Fist Technique. "This technique is superb," she continued, feeling a surge of hope.

She marveled at the capabilities of the Void Archives. "The AI integrates technology and magic, and its ability to copy and improve items is truly remarkable. We really created such a godly item, huh?" she thought, a hint of pride in her inner voice. With renewed determination, Kate delved deeper into the technique, ready to strengthen herself for the challenges ahead.

"I'll practice this technique to its maximum first before I get out of here, and maybe some other techniques too," Kate thought to herself. Determined, she focused all her energy on mastering the Everlasting Dominating Fist Technique.

She found a quiet spot within the Void Archives, where the ambient energy was at its peak. Sitting cross-legged, Kate began the meticulous process of absorbing the technique's knowledge, her mind and body aligning with its principles. Hours turned into days as she dedicated herself to the practice, feeling her strength and resilience grow with each passing moment.

"This is just the beginning," Kate whispered to herself, her eyes glowing with newfound power and confidence. "I'll master this and more before I step out into the world again."

Outside, Su Yan and Yang Kai stood before the two glowing orbs, now aware of the necessity to inherit the Dragon and Phoenix inheritances together. As they touched the orbs, a surge of ancient energy enveloped them, drawing them closer. The profound bond required them to become husband and wife, solidifying their union through the powerful Joyous Yin-Yang Unification Art, a dual cultivation technique.

As the inheritances integrated with their beings, their cultivation levels skyrocketed. Su Yan and Yang Kai felt an immense power coursing through them, a perfect balance of dragon and phoenix energies.

"This technique is incredible," Yang Kai said, feeling the strength and harmony between their auras. "Together, we'll reach new heights."

Su Yan nodded, her eyes reflecting both determination and a hint of affection. "Yes, we will. Let's make the most of this inheritance and protect those we care about."

As they stepped forward, their newfound bond and power resonated through the air, marking the beginning of a formidable partnership destined to change their world.

Inside the Void Archives, Kate's eyes flickered open, and she immediately checked the clock on the ceiling. The realization hit her with a jolt.

"How long has it been?" Kate muttered to herself in disbelief. "Hmm? It's been a YEAR!?" She exclaimed loudly, surprised by the passage of time.

"Well, at least I mastered the Everlasting Dominating Fist Level 2," Kate said, taking solace in her achievement. She glanced at her Character Creation and Customization (CCC), noticing the increase in her lifespan.

"I now have a thousand more lifespan," Kate remarked, feeling relieved that her efforts had paid off despite the time spent within the Void Archives.
