Chapter 13 - The Founding (II)

After leaving the Legacy Cave, Su Yan searched for Kate outside but found no trace of her. Concerned, she returned home and cleaned herself up before heading to her bedroom. There, she gazed at the Void Archives with a mixture of curiosity and worry.

"Is she inside?" Su Yan wondered aloud. "Disciples said that she can summon golden circles that shoot weapons with different attributes. I also heard that she can control the speed of these weapons. Her prowess is mysterious," Su Yan mused to herself, reflecting on Kate's unique abilities and the enigma surrounding her.

Su Yan contemplated Kate's mysterious nature and her peculiar abilities. "Kate Apocalypse is really a weird name, and we know nothing about where she came from," Su Yan mused quietly to herself. "She's truly a mysterious one, and she's often seen with Yang Kai, the most improved trial disciple."

Lost in thought, Su Yan continued, "Right, I better call her husband for the future," smiling to herself at the idea. But then, a sudden realization struck her. "Right, the artifact outside," Su Yan exclaimed as she prepared to head outside.

Outside, Su Yan gazed up at the artifact Kate had used. "The seniors investigated this artifact, but it also possesses defensive capabilities," Su Yan thought to herself, observing it closely. "It automatically opens multiple golden circles and fires at seniors who get too close. When fired upon, it activates an energy barrier so strong that even attacks from those at the Immortal Ascension cultivation level do nothing."

She pondered the implications of such powerful defensive mechanisms and what they might reveal about Kate's origins and intentions.

To her surprise, the Vimana slowly descended and landed in front of her. Su Yan, puzzled by this unexpected response from the Vimana, cautiously climbed aboard and stood before the throne at its helm.

"Is this where Kate sat?" she wondered to herself, observing the intricate design of the throne. Despite the familiarity, Su Yan shook her head, realizing that it wasn't her place to assume Kate's position.

"No, it's not mine," Su Yan murmured, refocusing her attention on the sect. Gripping the Void Archives in her right hand, it glowed faintly as she commanded the Vimana to move.

"Go," she commanded resolutely, and with that, the Vimana accelerated swiftly towards the sect, leaving Su Yan pondering the mysteries surrounding Kate and the artifact.

It only took a second for Su Yan to reach the sect, leaving her bewildered by the Vimana's incredible speed. Despite the rapid travel, she felt no discomfort from the velocity.

"What is this speed? But I felt nothing," Su Yan muttered to herself, hovering high above the sect. She walked towards the edge of the Vimana and peered downward, observing Yang Kai as he departed the sect.

"He's leaving," Su Yan remarked, her thoughts racing. Quickly, she wrote a letter and dropped it towards the main building of the sect before turning her attention back to the Vimana.

"Artifact, follow Junior Brother at his speed," Su Yan commanded firmly. The Vimana responded immediately, setting off to tail Yang Kai's path.

"Looks like as long as I have Kate's artifact, I can command this flying artifact," Su Yan mused to herself. Satisfied with her command, she settled down at the front of the Vimana and began to cultivate, contemplating the mysteries surrounding Kate and her enigmatic artifact.

After a day of cultivation, Su Yan opened her eyes with a thoughtful expression.

"Looks like he's practicing a movement technique," Su Yan remarked to herself, observing Yang Kai's actions from the Vimana.

"I can control this flying artifact, but I can't open those golden circles like Kate. Is it another ability of this artifact?" Su Yan wondered aloud, pondering the mysterious capabilities of the Vimana.

"At least I can utilize its attacks and defensive capabilities. That's a good thing," Su Yan concluded, finding reassurance in the artifact's functionalities. She glanced at the vacant throne where Kate usually sat.

"Kate, I'll borrow this one for quite a while," Su Yan said quietly, acknowledging the responsibility that came with commanding such a powerful artifact.

After a month had passed, Su Yan observed from the Flying Artifact as Yang Kai seemed to have mastered a new movement technique. "Looks like he's already mastered the movement technique," Su Yan murmured to herself, peering down from the floating artifact. She noticed Yang Kai's appearance had deteriorated, resembling that of a beggar. "Should I go down?" Su Yan pondered silently.

"No," a voice echoed unexpectedly from the Void Archives, startling Su Yan. "KATE! IS THAT YOU?" Su Yan exclaimed in surprise.

"Yes, I've recovered. Before I hid in the Void Archives, I allowed you to have full control over Vimana because I knew you'd handle it carefully," Kate's voice replied calmly from within the artifact.

"So this flying artifact's name is Vimana?" Su Yan asked, seeking confirmation.

"Yes, that's the Noble Phantasm named Vimana. It can travel at the speed of thought," Kate explained.

"Speed of thought? That doesn't make sense to me," Su Yan said, puzzled.

"Regardless, since you've taken good care of it, I'll allow you to use it without needing the Void Archives," Kate replied. Su Yan thanked her as the Void Archives transformed into a necklace, which Su Yan promptly wore.

"Don't lose it, or Vimana will eject you," Kate warned.

"Don't worry," Su Yan assured her. "When will you come back?"

"I don't know. I need to recover first. Also, if Yang Kai enters a cave, let me know, and I'll come out," Kate instructed. The Void Archives stopped glowing, leaving Su Yan calling out to Kate without a response.

"She's gone," Su Yan murmured to herself. "She said that if Junior Brother enters a cave, I should tell her." Su Yan pondered this instruction, feeling the weight of responsibility Kate had entrusted to her. She looked down at the necklace, thinking about the enigmatic girl and her mysterious abilities. "I need to stay vigilant," she resolved, determined to fulfill Kate's request.

Inside the Void Archives, Kate looked at the ten towering books in front of her. "Now that's taken care of, I need to learn these books," she said. She reached for the first one, her eyes reflecting determination. "First, I need to learn the Heavenly Demonic Bliss Technique. If I remember correctly, this technique unlocks one's potential... and makes them explode." She began to read, immersing herself in the intricate details of the powerful and dangerous technique.

"Wait, the Void Archives already copied the Tong Xuan Realm before this ability got sealed," Kate remembered as she read the Heavenly Demonic Bliss Technique. "I guess I can just copy it again so that I have two now," she said to herself, feeling a mix of relief and satisfaction.

On the outside, Su Yan continued watching Yang Kai. "Now he really does look like a beggar, yet he managed to join that group," she remarked, her gaze shifting towards the beautiful horizon. "The world is really beautiful," she said, a smile spreading across her face. Content with the view, Su Yan resumed her cultivation, allowing the Vimana to follow Yang Kai's movements.

After some time, Su Yan felt the Vimana slowing down and then stopping. She opened her eyes and looked at Yang Kai's group. "So they're resting for the night?" Su Yan said to herself. "I better eat too." As soon as she said it, a compartment opened, revealing a selection of food.

"I didn't expect this from this artifact... no, this Noble Phantasm. Kate called it a Noble Phantasm. I wonder what that is," Su Yan thought to herself as she picked some food for the night.

After finishing her food, Su Yan heard a commotion on the ground. "What's going on?" she said, looking at Yang Kai's group. "They're getting attacked? No, wait, there's a traitor in their group. I need to help Yang Kai; he's only at the Flowing Qi Realm."

She opened a single Gate of Babylon (GoB) aimed at the highest realm enemy, ready to fire. Just as she was about to release the attack, Yang Kai launched a surprise assault on the traitor.

"There's a chance he can take that man down. Looks like I don't need to help him," Su Yan said, watching intently.

"His new movement technique is exceptional," Su Yan said, watching Yang Kai deftly maneuver around his opponents. "Looks like I don't need to interfere at all." She nodded in approval and then prepared to resume her cultivation, confident in Yang Kai's abilities to handle the situation on his own.

Inside the Void Archives, Kate reflected on her progress. "This one is easy to learn," she mused. "Of course, my thousands of years of experience as a researcher help a lot. I've worked on everything from high tech to low tech, from reality to magicology, so this piece is easy to understand. The knowledge from the Manhua also helps."

She contemplated her next steps. "Once I go outside, I will definitely reach the Separation and Reunion Realm. But with my physique, I can handle that, so I better level up more in here than outside."

Despite her determination, Kate felt a pang of boredom. "I've been bored multiple times in the past, but I used to read fantasy books and watch anime from the Milky Way Galaxy. This time, I only have copies in my mind. But it's good that I have the most exceptional mind. I've been titled as the Goddess of Knowledge in the past, and that hasn't changed."

Kate sighed and looked around the Void Archives. "I need to keep myself motivated. There's still so much to learn and explore." With renewed focus, she returned to her studies, determined to master every technique and ability she could while in the safety of the Void Archives.

"I've mastered the Heavenly Demonic Bliss Technique. Surprisingly, it's very simple," Kate said to herself. "Now, let's move on to the next technique." She glanced at her notes. "The Eight Difficulties Demonic Technique is really dangerous. For now, I guess I can just use what I have." Kate stood up and walked to the item shelf in the Tong Xuan Realm copy. "I should refine the Soul Warming Lotus now so that I have protection from these evil techniques."

Standing in front of the huge shelf, Kate found the legendary-ranked book. On the first page, she saw the Soul Warming Lotus. "This is it," she said, touching the picture. The lotus emerged from the page, hovering in front of her. Kate immediately sat down and began refining the Soul Warming Lotus.

As she focused on the process, she felt the lotus's energy merging with her own. It was a meticulous and challenging task, but her experience and determination saw her through. The Soul Warming Lotus glowed with a soothing warmth, and she could feel its protective aura enveloping her.

"With this, I can safely practice the Eight Difficulties Demonic Technique without worrying about the harmful side effects," Kate thought, feeling more confident. "Now, let's see what other treasures this place holds."

Kate returned to her desk and opened the book on the Eight Difficulties Demonic Technique. As she began to read, she couldn't help but shake her head in disbelief. "This technique is truly evil. How can anyone practice this?" she muttered. "If I'm going to use this, I better master it to the highest level."

Determined, Kate dove deeper into the text, absorbing the intricate details and dark rituals described within. Each page revealed more about the power and peril of the technique, but her resolve only grew stronger. With the Soul Warming Lotus now refining and protecting her, she felt prepared to tackle even the most dangerous methods.

"This will be my greatest challenge yet," she thought, her eyes narrowing with determination. "But I will conquer it, just like I have with every other obstacle." With that, she began the arduous process of mastering the Eight Difficulties Demonic Technique, focusing all her knowledge and willpower on the task ahead.

Kate's eyes narrowed as she heared Su Yan's urgent message. Setting aside the book on the Eight Difficulties Demonic Technique, she swiftly composed herself and replied. "Okay I'll be there."
