It was a long few hours left of the day. Kat had made ready the CEO's schedule and all of his meeting notes. She compiled a detailed list of notes from the meeting. She not only notated the dates and times, but the conflicting details throughout the meeting.
One team member had given a timeline for Product B's marketing to be completed, however upon reviewing further documents the first step of the marketing plan was not allotted to be completed until after the timeframe given.
Kat notated down all of her questions as well as possible solutions.
Although Kat knew that her appearance and character fell down over the past several months, her drive and intelligence were still kicking strong.
Kat gathered her disk drive and made her way to the elevator. Upon entering she pressed the twelfth floor.
Trying to rush on time to leave before Richard finished his day of work, she rushed to the copy machines. She logged into the nearby computer and placed her disk drive in. Clicking through the tabs she found the folder of documents that she needed to print. Just as she was about to press for it to send to the printer, a large hand grabbed her risk and yanked her out of the desk chair.
Kat was rushed off to a nearby door leading to the stairwell. Before she could utter even a word of surprise the door was shut behind her and she was pressed firmly against it. Two large palms pounded against the metal door on either side of her head.
Kat's eyes widened as she looked up at Richard.
"So...this is the game we are playing? What's the fastest way to piss me off?"
Kat dared not open her mouth before he finished. She was sure there were insults ready to be thrown.
"Or better yet. What's the fastest way into the CEO's bed? You whore?" Richard didn't raise his voice for fear of it echoing throughout the stairwell. He checked down the rails and up to ensure no one was nearby them.
"So, you think these two weeks are going to save you from my wrath. Don't worry darling. You'll just help me to ramp it up once you're back."
He reached out to wrap a loose curl around his fingers. He glared at her and stared her up and down. He was studying what she had on. No doubt assessing that he had never seen the outfit before. And thus deducing with a grin, that it must have been from the CEO.
Still, Kat did not open her mouth. Richard continued to hurl insults at her and called her every word in the book. He was trying to intimidate her to give up before the two weeks were up. She was sure of it. She knew there was no way that was possible. She refused to stay in his line of fire for the rest of her life.
"Mrs. Gibbs...do remind yourself that you're married now. If you think any other man will have you. You are mistaken. Just because I don't want you, doesn't mean you are allowed to be had by another."
He pushed her slightly into the door and backed away from her.
THUD!
Richard and Kat both jumped at the sound of what sounded like a book hitting the ground a few floors below them. Richard straightened his suit jacket and fixed up the appearance on his face.
Kat was pushed from behind by the door opening.
Elise walked into the stairwell and stopped as she looked the two. She studied their expressions and rested the look of suspicion on her face. She was obviously not bothered by seeing the two together. Almost certain that nothing was happening between the two except the usual.
"Richard. Your last meeting has been gathered and we are awaiting your presence." Elise kept her eyes on Kat, who still.....said nothing.
Richard, with secretary in hand, brushed past Kat and walked out of the stairwell exit door. Kat slowly straightened her appearance and waited a few moments before she stepped behind them.
THUD!
Patricia Stafford dropped her binder onto the ground of the stairwell. She was taking a working lunch on the stairwell when she started to hear very vial language. It was the works of a very seditious man.
The types of insults that were inappropriate for anyone, let alone a woman. She had been listening in to the conversation and immediately deduced who the culprit and victim were.
Richard Gibbs and Katalina Hunter.
Typically, her job was to address all human resources related issues, however this account was special. She had been tasked with one thing and one thing only. To find out more about Katalina Hunter.
The only question that she had asked the CEO was to ensure her that no harm will come to the involved party that she was gathering information about. Wolf ensured her and that was that. She trusted the man and believed him to be a fair leader.
She had been 'coincidentally' on the same floors as Kat today. Attempting to not be noticed, she had fulfilled her job as Human Resources Manager, but solely to the floors that Kat graced her presence upon. She had taken note that she had a long conversation with a woman from the strategic team.
Alana? What was her last name again? She couldn't remember so she had written it down to research later.
She had managed to keep up with the busy young woman up until just now, when she had lost track of her on the elevator. She saw that she had gotten out at the twelfth floor, but when she herself got off of the elevator, Katalina was nowhere to be found.
She had gone down a few more floors to finally take a quick lunch and then she heard it. She heard the mistreatment of Richard to his 'so-called wife'.
So, she purposely slammed her binder down onto the floor so as to warn them that someone was near and hopefully prevent anyone else from hearing the vile insults.
After making sure that the two left the stairwell, she rushed to her office to make a very important call.
DIALING...CEO WOLF.
