Another world.
Something years ago I thought as fictional. The idea of transporting somewhere that holds fantasy-like creatures and things that science couldn't explain didn't exactly sound feasible... But I was wrong.
15 years ago, I was just your average highschool student. My life was the definition of normal. But that all changed one day when a magic circle appeared under my feet on my way to school.
Before I had known it, I was inside a castle. At the time, I was scared and confused until someone stepped forward to me.
I was told I was brought to another world to defeat the Demon King. I didn't believe it at that time and thought of it as a very time consuming joke. Sadly, it wasn't a joke.
Magic was real, plain and simple, along with many other things my eyes couldn't believe at that time. Goblins, Elves, Dwarves, Dragons, you name it!
So, I began to train under the tutelage of the castle I was summoned in. And then, after 10 painful years and many many weird requests I got...
I set out on my journey to defeat the Demon King.
========================
"T-this can't be!" The deep, demonic like voice snapped me out of the trance I was in. My eyes instantly locked onto the crouched figure in front of me.
They were bloodied and heavily wounded, their arm clutching the giant gnash on his abdomen. His dark grey face had beads of sweat trailing down his body as his eyes stared at me with confusion and rage.
"To think I was defeated... by the likes of you..."
'To be honest, you don't seem all that shocked,' was what I wanted to say. In fact, the guy sounded kinda happy. 'I suppose it's time to finally end this journey now.'
I clench the sword in my right hand, slowly lifting it above my head.
"Demon King," I activate the Holy power within me, allowing the silver blade of my sword to glow a brilliant yellow light. "As the Hero, it is time for you to finally die."
Without any more dialogue needed, I swing down my blade, allowing it to cleave off the head of the Demon King.
I watched as the dismembered head roll until it bumped into my feet.
"...." I drop to my knees and stare at the ceiling.
"FINALLLLLLYYYYYY!" And I shout in happiness.
15 long, grueling years of being stuck in another world. The vigorous training I went through to get myself to this time was truly worth it.
"I can finally go back home..." A brief sting in my eyes before tears slowly trailed down my cheeks.
[CONGRATULATIONS, HERO!!!]
Without warning, a large blue screen appeared in front of my face.
[AS YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY SLAYED THE DEMON KING!]
[DUE TO THIS, YOU ARE FREE TO RETURN TO WHERE YOU CAME!]
As the screen trailed along I thought about the many memories I clung onto as I trudged on this journey. My family... Friends... Okay, so maybe I didn't have as much memories as I would've like, but I can't help it.
[NOW! IT IS TIME TO RETU-]
"Huh?" The screen suddenly cracked before vanishing into particles. At the same time, a glow of blue light appeared underneath my body. Looking down, a small tint of dread filled my body as I stared at the same magic circle that brought me into the world.
"Wait!" As the magic circle glowed brighter I quickly jumped to my feet to try and dash out the circle... But I was too late.
I was soon covered in the light, my consciousness fading to black.
'Why...' Those were my final thoughts before I blacked out.
==========================
Earth truly was once peaceful. Well, if you ignore some other stuff like wars, crime and a bunch of other stuff. But other than that, it was peaceful.
But that changed 15 years ago. One day, out of nowhere, strange portals appeared from all over the world and spewed out monsters that were once treated as fake and myths. It happened so fast, before they knew it, over millions had already died.
None of the methods they used were effective, guns, bombs, or even nukes worked on these monsters.
Just when hope seemed lost, people all around the world gained supernatural abilities and were able to repel the monsters and close the portals. However, even then, portals still were always appearing.
As time passed, the concept of portals slowly became normal and were more or less easy to deal with. But deep within, people wanted this nightmare to end.
"Sir, everything has been prepared." In a extremely dark room, a female voice suddenly spoke out.
"Good, begin the ritual." In reply, a gruff and aged man's voice spoke.
It went silent for a few minutes before a bright blue glow lit up the dark room revealing 2 people.
The girl was in a stereotypical business suit, standing before the blue light. Meanwhile, the man was also dressed in a business suit and stayed close to the walls, watching the girl from afar.
"O Hero from far away lands." The girl started speaking, reaching her hand over the blue light. "He who has slayed and repelled the darkness to bring forth a new shining light."
The bright glow started to become brighter as the girl chanted, slowly becoming bright enough to make someone turn away instantly.
"We call for your help to assist us and slay the darkness and bring forth that light once more! Come! O' Brave Hero!" As the girl finished, the bright blue light fully engulfed the room, making both the woman and man shield their eyes.
Strong winds burst forth from the center of the light bringing up a large cloud of dust and smoke.
After a few minutes the light died down along with the wind.
"D...Did it work?" The girl slowly opened her eyes, watching the smoke and dust clear before her eyes.
As it did, it revealed a boy who looked no older than 17 laying there unconscious. However, the strange thing about him were his clothes... Moreover, the lack of them.
"Mmmmm." The boy's body suddenly twitched, his eyes snapping open as he shot up from his laid position.
"I DON'T WANT TO BE A HERO AGAIN!!!" The boy yelled loudly as he shot up. "...Eh?" He was met with the girl staring at him with a blank look.
"This.... Isn't a castle?" The boy's eyes slowly trailed along the room. "There aren't any knights or princesses." The boy's confused face suddenly gained a wide smile.
"And those clothes definitely are Earthly like." He stared at the girl, his smile only growing wider and wider.
"I'm.... I'M FINALLY BACK!!!!!!"
Akio had never felt more happier in his life.
