Meanwhile on Earth.
"AAAHHH!" John, George, Lucy, Nancy and Jane were running helter skelter.
Saurian, Ephragon and Ophiacodon were attacking the huge tyrannical constellation which seemed to be targeting the human teens.
"You and your big mouth!" Lucy growled at John. "You just had to say something like that!"
"It's not like he wasn't going to attack us anyway!" John yelled back.
"Arguing is not going to get us anywhere!" Nancy yelled.
"Okay guys, no panicking…RUN!" George yelled.
"We can't keep running forever!" John screamed.
"I wish Sam was here!" Jane screamed.
"Huh? What did you just say?" John asked.
"I'm wondering what Sam would have done if he was here" Jane replied.
"I guess you're right" John said and stopped running.
He took out his sword from its sheath and to his surprise, the blade of the sword was made of heat, almost as though it were a lightsaber.
"Hey guys look, I think I'm Luke Skywalker!" John joked.
"Yeah well you'd best be hoping Tarantella ain't your mother dude" George teased.
The tyrannical constellation was charging towards them. Suddenly, George whipped out two Star Shuriken and hurled them at the Constellation. The Shuriken passed right through the constellation as though it were made of air and then they raced back into George's arms.
"Cool, a shuriken boomerang! John what do you think? Kids have boomerangs, Batman has the Batarang, do you think I should call these Galaxirangs?" George asked.
"AAAH!" John screamed as he moved aside to avoid being crushed by the constellation.
John then took out his heat blade and pounced at the constellation in an attempt to stab it but the blade just passed through the constellation and to John's horror, a massive paw of the constellation solidified and knocked John a very long distance into the air.
"John! Are you okay?!" Lucy screamed running to his side.
"Oh, my head! I feel as though I've been run over by a train! That thing, how do we defeat it?" John asked.
"Unity, I guess" Lucy replied quite uncertain herself.
"Haha, very funny. Anyone else I'd believe but you preaching about unity? Now that's a killer" John laughed.
"Very funny smartmouth, you got a better suggestion?" Lucy asked.
John kept silent.
"Didn't think so" Lucy said.
"Jane quick! Get in the centre!" Nancy called as the young Andersons held hands and shut their eyes.
The evil constellation began to move towards them. A small sphere began to materialize at the centre of the circle the Anderson teens had formed. Jane took a couple of steps back to avoid contact with the sphere and she tripped on a rock and fell backwards right into John and Lucy's arms breaking their contact. The sphere vanished. By then, the constellation was upon them, ready to crush them. They had no time to form the bond again. Unnoticed by them, a circle of fire had slowly began to surround them. The constellation raised its arms.
"No one can save you now Andersons. Hahaha! I have waited so long for this moment when the Guardians Of Light would cease to exist!" T-Rexus laughed.
Slowly, an orb of fire began to form around the teens as fire shot out from the arms of the constellation. The teens shut their eyes and held each other tightly. The fire from the arms of the constellation was charging at them. John opened one eye to look and what he saw surprised him. The fire from the arms of the constellation was being absorbed by the orb of fire surrounding the teens and it couldn't penetrate the orb of fire to get to the Andersons. The constellation realized that the orb of fire could not be broken by its fire and swiped a claw hoping to shatter the orb. An unforeseen force knocked it to the ground.
"COOL!" John screamed.
The others opened their eyes and saw the orb of fire surrounding them.
"IMPOSSIBLE!" T-Rexus roared angrily. "No Guardian Of Light can do that!"
"True, but a Neutral can!" a voice said.
T-Rexus, the Anderson kids, Jane and all the dinosaurs fighting froze and turned their heads in the direction of the voice. All they saw was a wind of fire concentrated at one particular spot. The wind of fire slowly ceased and everyone looked to see who was behind it and they saw…Guess who? SAM!
"IMPOSSIBLE! NO ONE COULD HAVE SURVIVED THE LAVA!" T-Rexus screamed.
"This just keeps getting better and better!" John laughed crazily.
"SAM!" the girls screamed excitedly.
"He really is the chosen one" Saurian stared in shock.
"Hi Luce!" Sam teased.
Lucy managed a pretend frown but deep down boy was she glad to hear that name.
Then Sam turned to face T-Rexus, the imposter. Sam saw a glint of a black chain hanging around T-Rexus' neck. He saw a pendant with a gryphon on it.
"You said it yourself. No one can but I can and I have survived the Lava. Isn't that so…Dark Gryphon!" Sam said.
"So you've finally figured out who I am have you?" T-Rexus/Dark Gryphon said.
"Who's Dark Gryphon? I thought you said T-Rexus was Tarantella" George said.
John looked closely at T-Rexus and his eyes began to glow faint blue.
"You're right Sam, this definitely ain't Tarantula" John said.
Everyone laughed.
"I'll explain later" Sam said. "Oh, but before I forget, Saurian, Ephragon, Edaphrogon sends his regards and informed me to tell you never to forget the stories he told you about 'Gon'" Sam said.
"Where did you see him Sam?! Tell us!" Saurian said excitedly.
In the next moment, Sam's left hand was rubbing the back of his neck nervously and his right index finger was pointing towards the Sky.
"I understand" Saurian said.
"But now, your destiny is clear, you will redeem the Guardians and free the world" Saurian said.
There was a flash of fire and dark smoke crept up T-Rexus. When the smoke cleared, Sam saw the figure of a man wearing a cloak. His face was cloaked in shadow.
"So you're a neutral? We'll soon see about that, indeed we shall" Dark Gryphon said shooting fire sparks at Sam.
Sam jumped to his right and the sparks missed him. Slowly, Sam's armour transformed into a tunic.
"Remember me Dark Gryphon?" Sam asked.
Dark Gryphon looked menacingly at Sam. Suddenly, a wind blew past Sam and Sam's tunic moved aside revealing the pendant of the Golden Dragon.
"Golden Dragon! Could it be?! After ten thousand years!" Dark Gryphon screamed.
"Oh boy, here comes the 'I'll tear you apart' part" John said.
"Finally, I'll have my revenge! I'll tear you apart!" Dark Gryphon screamed.
"Told ya" John said.
"We've got to help Sam!" Nancy said.
"Back off guys, this is my fight!" Sam declared.
Saurian jumped in front of Sam.
"You mean our fight!" Saurian said.
Sam looked at Saurian. Saurian looked fiercely determined.
"Yes, I mean our fight! Take a good look Dark Gryphon for this is the last you'll ever see" Sam crouched and leapt into the air in a spin.
There was a flash of flame and suddenly Sam was wearing a golden suit and golden boots and helmet. There was a flash of light as an orange flaming emblem appeared on the chest of his suit. The emblem of the Golden Dragon. Then Sam landed on Saurian's back while in midair and in a flash of light, they flew upwards towards the sky. All the others could see was what looked like a shooting star zooming across the skies and suddenly Saurian stopped flying when they were high enough.
"What are they going to do?" John asked.
As they were in Sky, Sam felt an energy rising within him.
"What's happening Saurian?" Sam asked.
"I feel it too" Saurian responded and in the next instant, they were flying higher and higher.
Saurian spread his wings upward till they covered Sam and Sam stretched his arms till they touched both wings. Where Sam's hands connected with Saurian's wings, there was a flash of light. Sam's hands and Saurian's wings began to glow as the energy bolted through them.
"Oh no! They have joined powers!" Dark Gryphon exclaimed in distress.
"Oh no for you, Oh yes for us!"" John said smiling sarcastically at Dark Gryphon.
Suddenly, there was an explosion in the Sky!
"Yes! Yes! Those fools! They connected much more power than they could handle! My worst enemy has been destroyed! Hahaha!" Dark Gryphon laughed.
When Dark Gryphon turned around, he saw Sam and Saurian staring at him. Sam had an eyebrow raised.
"What are you monologuing with yourself for?" he said to Dark Gryphon.
As the others watched, Saurian and Sam began to glow and as they glowed, bright stars began to appear around them like outlines.
"What's happening?" Lucy asked worriedly.
"Sam, are you okay?" Jane asked.
"Don't worry guys, only a constellation can defeat a constellation" Sam said.
"So you mean…?" Jane asked.
"Yeah, Saurian and I are now constellations" Sam said.
"Need a little help here, do you guys mind?!" George screamed back to the others.
"While you guys have been dialoguing for like hours, I've been fighting this…thing! No fair!" Nancy screamed back to the others.
"That's the Nancy we don't know yet love" John said.
"Haha, you're a riot. Now would you stop being a jerk and help me out?" Nancy screamed in reply.
"Umm…let me think about it…" John said.
"Guys!" Nancy screamed in anger.
"Okay okay! I don't know what we're just standing here doing anyway" Sam replied.
"Guess what, we're doing nothing, ain't life great?" John said.
"If you'll let a rogue constellation barbecue your cousins that's your problem" Sam said.
"Actually I was thinking grill them, sandwich them, then he can barbecue them, hey wait a minute, no one is allowed to mess them up like that except me!" John yelled.
"Did you just figure that out just now or did you figure it out a century ago?!" Sam screamed and the next second, he and Saurian were in the air and after the constellation.
When Sam got close, he noticed that Dark Gryphon was perched on the constellation.
"You dare try to harm my friends and my girlfriend! Hey wait a minute…that didn't quite come out right" Sam said.
"What are you going to do? You're just a teenager!" Dark Gryphon sneered.
"Yeah, I am and I'm going to prove today that you don't need to be big to defeat a big bully like yourself!" Sam declared.
"I still can't believe that I didn't believe him. He was so honest. I didn't know what to believe. All he wanted was a chance to explain himself, I didn't even listen to him. I didn't…I don't know…I tried to…" Jane was talking hysterically.
"Whoa sister! What's with all the 'believe, don't believe, can, can't, tried to'. I can't get a single word in except for the word 'believe'. What…just what in the heck are you talking about?!" John asked.
"John, when Sam told me the truth, I didn't believe him and said he was a liar. He told me to ask you and I said you would lie to save his skin" Jane was saying.
"Did you just say…" John began to say.
"Sorry if I insulted you" Jane said.
"No, no, no, it sounded more like a joke. I would lie to save his skin. Come on, if Sam were in that much trouble, I would slash his skin first, no questions asked but I know my cousin. I knew him long before I knew he was my cousin. Back then, he was just my best friend then and he never lied. He told me about the dream he had about Tarantella then" John said.
"And did you believe him?" Jane asked.
"I did. I tried to help him solve the riddle about the dream. I tried to help him find the truth" John said.
"I wish I had as much faith in him as you did" Jane said.
"It wasn't about faith Jane. If I were in your position, I probably wouldn't have believed him and he knows that he probably wouldn't have believed himself either but the only difference was that I had the same dream on the same night and so did George, Lucy and Nancy. It's a long story" John said.
"At least everything's resolved. When we get back to earth…" Jane was saying when John burst into uncontrollable laughter.
"Please forgive me. Everything is everything but resolved" John said.
"You mean, Sam's still angry?" Jane said as she felt tears begin to fill her eyes.
"No, no and no again. The problem will not be from Sam, it will be from you. See? When you wake up on Earth, this will all seem like an incredible dream. Maybe you'll feel like you ate rotten eggs but hey, a trip to the supernatural ain't no joke" John said.
"So I won't believe Sam? I'll just keep hurting him?" Jane asked.
"Not only that, guess what, you'll still call him by that cool nickname you fashioned for him... 'the shrimp freak'. That's a good one. Did it take you like a week or a day to come up with that and why shrimp? Sam hates shrimps. Well I think they're cute but calling him a shrimp? That's just too degrading. Calling him a vegetable is much better than shrimp" John said.
Then John thought to himself.
"I hope she's feeling the pain she caused Sam. You actually thought he lied not to even talk of thinking that I'm a liar and that I'd lie to save Sam's skin. I'd love to see you and Sam resolve this when we're finally on earth" John said.
Meanwhile, bolts of lightning, fire, every single destructive element you can think of were flying across the sky.
"Face it Anderson, you can't defeat me!" Dark Gryphon growled.
"This fight is just started" Sam said as he hurled a ball of fire at Dark Gryphon.
As the two were battling, Saurian and the constellation were also resolving their differences, big differences. Saurian blew fire on the constellation but the fire only scorched a small part of the constellation. The constellation swiped a tail at Saurian. Saurian quickly evaded the attack. Dark Gryphon charged up a whirlwind of smoke and ordered it to destroy Sam and Saurian. The Whirlwind began to spin towards them. Sam charged up an orb of fire around them for protection. The whirlwind hit the orb with great force causing Sam and Saurian to crash to the ground.
"Sam! Saurian! Are you alright?!" Lucy asked.
"You can't possibly die again in one day, come on!" John called.
"Sam, you can't defeat Dark Gryphon alone. Let us help" Nancy said.
Sam struggled to his feet. Saurian was wounded, the connection was broken and the stars surrounding Sam and Saurian disappeared.
Ephragon rushed to Saurian's side.
"Brother! I cannot lose you too! You must live brother!" Ephragon said.
Lucy saw Saurian's wound.
"Sam, it's lethal" Lucy said helplessly.
"I don't have much time. Ephragon, never forget the stories of Gon. Take care of the chosen one. Promise me that brother" Saurian said.
Dark Gryphon descended from the Sky with the evil constellation.
"Pity, you can't even save the ones you love. The more you fight, the more you hurt them. Give up Golden Dragon" Dark Gryphon said.
"Sam! Don't listen!" Saurian roared.
"Be silent! You disappointment of a dragon! Disappointment of a dragon, get that Anderson? When it comes to the hierarchy of power, dragons will always be at the bottom! You are weak! You cannot defeat me without the help of the Phoenix! Pity!! Perhaps I overestimated you" Dark Gryphon said.
"Don't listen to him Sam, you are stronger than he is! You may not know it but he does! He could just kill you but he is asking you to give up! Ask yourself why. He knows that…you can win!" Saurian said.
"Be silent you foul dragon! Just die!" Dark Gryphon roared and leapt unto the back of the constellation.
He flew with speed towards Saurian while conjuring up a ball of Revilexus Rays around his hand. Then he pushed his fist forward to discharge the ball of Revilexus Rays. Before he could release the ball of Revilexus Rays, Sam flew with great speed and caught Dark Gryphon's fist in his palm. The force of the sudden clash caused the Revilexus Rays to be discharged in different directions.
"Did you see what he just did?!" Lucy exclaimed in awe.
"Are you seeing what John is doing?" Nancy asked.
"What? He can't possibly be doing anything sensible" Lucy said.
"Why don't you see for yourself?" Nancy said.
When Lucy turned, she saw a blinding white light.
"What is John doing?" Lucy asked.
When the light vanished, Lucy saw John with his hands placed on Saurian's wound except there was no wound anymore.
"John, you healed him" Lucy said in newfound admiration.
"I just figured since I'm the caretaker of all animal life, I could…do something…" John said and dropped to the ground in exhaustion.
"John!" Nancy screamed and rushed to his side.
"C'mon John! Stop kidding around!" Lucy said.
Nancy turned to face her.
"Lucy, I don't think he's kidding" Nancy said.
"Healing a lethal wound on a creature above average animals is…well it's lethal to him" Nancy said.
"No! No! You can't be serious! John is not dead!" Lucy said.
Slowly, John stood up.
"I'm…okay. Don't worry" John said.
"John, what you did was very brave" Nancy said.
"And foolish! You shouldn't have tried to trade your life for mine but thank you, I am forever in your debt human" Saurian said.
"So am I" Ephragon said as well.
Meanwhile, Dark Gryphon was surrounded by flaming Revilexus Rays.
"You should be weakening human" Dark Gryphon said to Sam. "It was just dumb luck! Your friend should have been dead!"
"Well he's not, I guess like me there's more to him than meets the eye" Sam said and with sudden speed, he charged up a ball of lightning around his fists and gave Dark Gryphon an upper cut which send Dark Gryphon sprawling to the ground.
"You should have realized by now that though I'm a Guardian Of Light, I also have some evil within me but unlike you, I keep it in check and therefore…" Sam said as he charged up a ball of Revilexus Rays in his hand and concentrated on it till it became huge, then he hurled it at the Dark Gryphon.
The Revilexus engulfed the Dark Gryphon but at the centre of the Revilexus, Sam could hear the Dark Gryphon laughing. Suddenly, the Revilexus vanished and slowly, Sam saw…A BLACK GRYPHON!
