Chapter 5 - Rightful Heir

I like to stay on my bed like this for my whole life. I would have never thought sleeping for a day felt this good. If I had known earlier, I would dump all my work on Drake and stay in my cosy bed. Sometimes it is hard to be alone without anyone taking care of you. Having someone to rely on emotionally is blissful.

Well, prince charming is only in tales, not in reality.

"Dee, my little girl, are you feeling well?" Am I not awake? Why I heard Gramp's voice? As far as I remember, she was on a business trip for two weeks, and only half a week had passed.

I turned my body to the other side to catch the intruder but got a hell of a surprise.

"Gramps! I missed you so much." I jumped off the bed and leapt towards the sofa to hug grandma. Oh! I can't tell how much I have missed her.

"I know, my little darling missed me." As usual- she caught me in her arms and rubbed my back to comfort me.

"Drake called you?" This question must not be asked because I already know from her smile.

"Little one, get ready. We are going somewhere." Gramps turned her back to me. She is serious.

"Grandma, is something wrong?" I bit my lips in agitation.

She did not answer me and walked out of my room without looking back at me. Is she mad at me?

"Dress properly. Don't wear a suit." She yelled from the staircase, and she had that threatening order.

"Ok, ok." It is better to do as she has said. I could ask her about the destination on the way.

As per her order, I wore a baggy gown. It covered my body perfectly. Taking my purse from the couch, I stepped out of the house.

"No way you are going to drive, gramps." I looked at her in shock. Man! is she kidding me?

"Get in the car. We don't have much time." She completely ignored me and started the engine, leaving me with no option but to hop in the car.

"Don't ask me any questions." She warned me before I could open my mouth. Ok! I should just shut my mouth and enjoy the view.

As time passed, we drove away from the city- into the suburbs. Why are we going that way? That suburb opens the portal to that world.

"Gramps, stop the car! We can't go there." I clenched the seat belt and closed my eyes. All the horrible memories flooded my mind.

"We can, Dracaena Vantoase. You have to go there sooner or later." Grandma punched the steering wheel in anger. I have never seen her this angry.

"They all will laugh at me, mom, and dad. Those people never accepted me." I tried to control the pool of tears in my eyes.

"They don't have the right to reject you. You are the only flesh and blood of their king." Grandma looked at me with her grey eyes. This is getting scary.

"Yeah! The only flesh and blood, who is a useless human in their eyes. Don't you remember how they made fun of me when I was young? They threw rotten eggs and stones at me. Do you want me to go through all that?" For the first time in my life, I yelled at my grandma. All this because of those shitty people.

"Who said you are a useless human?" She looked at me with a mysterious smile. No, no, this can't be. A sudden realisation hit me.

"Those medicines are not simple but portions to control my energy." I bit my tongue hard. This isn't true. This can't be right.

"As expected of my granddaughter." Grandma nodded her head in affirmation.

"No! I don't want to be like them. My Aunt and uncle always blame me for mom's death. I am not going to the world of demons. I have nothing to do with them. Do you get that?" My hands are itching to rip someone apart. This feeling of anger- why is this again?

"You have the same anger as your father. Don't you think you are acting selfish? They saved your life, and how are you repaying them? By running away from your real identity, you can't deny the fact you have demonic blood. The murderer of your parents is living a carefree life without any remorse. Are you ok with him leading a happy family? Where are your vows of avenging my son and daughter-in-law?" Grandma is also blaming me for their deaths, and why not? I was the one to force them to that horrible place. I was the one to make that enemy my friend.

"I want revenge for my parents. For my revenge, I can do anything, even if it means accepting a new identity. You know the real culprit, Grandma. Tell me who he is." I gritted my teeth to control the pit of fire.

"A werewolf- not a simple one. He is the Alpha King of werewolves. I can only help you this much. You are the only one to identify him." Grandma surely knows the identity of the murderer, but she is hiding it from me. There must be a reason behind this.

"But, grandma, no one will accept me there. On top of all, I don't know how to control my powers." I looked down at my hands. It doesn't matter if I have demonic blood and powers when I don't know how to use them.

"I will be your teacher, Dee. As for the people, they have to accept you because YOU ARE THE RIGHTFUL HEIR TO THE THRONE!"
