* Amber's POV *

I starred at Loel like I was in a trance I never imagined I would get to see him again in this life, tears welled up in my eyes as my vision blurred even Zaki's runty figure stood beside him they were both here for me I thought gladly.

Though I haven't been in this world for that long I had come to appreciate the companionship of Loel, I guess we were Mistress and bodyguard bounded.

Right then and there mixed emotions flooded inside of me, we were still at the Pinnacle when they had appeared to us.

"Loel ! Loel ! You came for me thank you I'm sorry I didn't mean to disregard your cautions I just wanted to go home." I ran happily enclosing him in a tight hug as I sobbed in spite of myself then suddenly everywhere became quiet I had shut my eyes in a moment of relief sensing the atmosphere I blinked my blue eyes open.

The trolls, few elves that had accompanied Loel and Zaki to the mountains, they all gazed at me in absolute disbelieve then the propriety between the royals and subjects which Loel had explained to me some days ago knocked back into my senses I released my hold on him swiftly with the latter standing stiff, he looked at me in utter shock.

I stepped away from him slightly, turning my head around coupled with an apologetic smile plastered on my face.

I cleared my throat noisily to stir their thoughts away from my blunder.

"I...I...I was just checking to see if he was alright hmmmm Body guard are you okay? What's that stench? You've not had your bath in days." I strengthened my back, placing both of my hands behind raising my chin up to feign nobility I patted Loel's on his shoulder retrieving my hands immediately to avoid giving out the wrong impression.

I mentioned him being stinky to divert their attention from myself even though I knew he wasn't.

" Bath? Me? Mistress I...." Loel finally regained his voice after getting rid of his dazed facial expression.

His loin clothe was tattered, his brown messy hair hid part of his face, his skin tone didn't look so good any longer, he must have gone all the way back to Zaki, guilt swept into me anew I heaved a sigh.

"My Lady is very fastidious." Austi pointed out in a casual tone, he grinned softly hoping to release the tension in the gathering.

Toki's voice soon sounded with resonance

"Except the diviner and guard's recent presence I guess the rest of us are fully aware of the reason we've assembled here today unanimously." He informed us turning to the altar, the others followed his movement excluding the few Elves and us.

"And me? I also don't know why I had to come along." I replied fervently, I knew my patience was running out already I felt a big lump in my chest, or perhaps it was the weight of my suffering and confusion that was heavy in my heart.

"Dear Child stay calm your worries shall soon fade but first of all you need to terminate the obstacle." Zaki said, her voice rang warily she had been quiet since she arrived only bowing in greetings to the trolls.

"My Lady you're the sole purpose of our journey to this holy temple." Toki answered politely as he continued with his movements,he and the other trolls began to hit their heads against the ground reciting spells like they had done previously.

"What are they up to?" I muttered softly into Loel's ear, as he stood beside me, the Elves watched them wordlessly they didn't seem surprised like I expected.

"I also don't know Mistress." He replied softly lowering his head as if in search for something.

Was it me or is Loel being too respectful today? In spite of the nobility principles at least he still looked at me while speaking in the past.

What the hell was wrong with him now? I thought in annoyance.

Probably because of the trolls or who? I brushed the questions off my mind as the earth beneath the Pinnacle vibrated, I stumbled forward in a struggle to avert losing my balance.

"Hold on to the Princess." Pa Lago screamed as the sound of thunder and lightening blast above the mountains deafened our ears.

Before I could trip, strong arms gripped me from behind, he held on to the roughened walls of the temple bringing me close to his side as his one arm wrapped my body.

My whole being shook in fear, the gust of wind blew around the altar violently my eyes caught the hazy figure of Zaki, the dwarf stood unmoving in her position even the Elves got down on their knees clutching to the ground for support.

The trolls chanted more audibly calling upon a name or maybe a god their composure didn't waver despite the sudden pandemonium.

The sculptured book emitted a great blinding light the pages flipped over speedily like it came alive, my eyeballs popped out in astonishment.

An heaven like voice uttered from nowhere,

"Princess Amber of the Mist Universe, the Chosen One the key to the resolution of the great chaos is in your hands beware." The sonorous voice warned as it echoed through the mountain.

As if it never happened, the Pinnacle's ambiance quietened I looked around me everyone remained motionless in their spot.

I didn't know about the others but my brain jammed against an invisible live wire then everything went black, I slumped.
