Chapter 15 - Sweet Escape

She glided down the crooked staircase down to a hidden doorway beneath with her long flowing hair brushing the dusty grounds of the hallway.

Then a door creaked open for her as she walked in her eyes widened in surprise,

"You're here?" She uttered in shock staring at the ferocious looking dragon seated in her grotesque made throne.

"Dear sister did you think I wouldn't find your little hide out? Quite shabby for a royal princess huhn." He teased all the while with his red eyes flickering about the room an evil growl escaped his mouth.

"You have no right to be here leave!" She managed to muster a tiny bit of courage gesturing for him to descend the throne.

As though he disappeared from where he was seated his figure flashed swiftly grasping her neck while she stiffened in pain with her lips slightly parted she gasped for breath.

"You dared to plot against her you slimy wench." The dragon bloodshot eyes flashed maliciously then his mouth heated up emanating fire in readiness to burn her up.

Her eyes popped out in dismay on sighting the fire,

"No please I'm still your sister besides I wasn't the one plotting against her and I'll tell you who the mastermind is....

Amber's POV

********************

I blinked my eyes open to the sight of busy-like Elves and Trolls bustling around outside the transparent tent I was in.

The chatters and excitement of the atmosphere seeped through the openings of the tent as I made to zip it down to go outside Gaylia head popped in startling me.

"Sorry." She giggled in excitement watching the way I sprung backwards in fright.

"It's okay but what's going on out there?" I asked in absolute curiosity sensing that this strange world had a lot to teach me about their ways anyway nothing else could get weirder than ending up in nowhere other than an Elves village.

Gaylia crawled seating beside me but it strangely didn't feel odd as before like staying this close to an Elf.

"It's D-day of the Slvkinles sacrifice to the Unanimous Elders in power of the heaven's seat it's actually going to be a big busy day you want to see our preparations." She offered getting up she bounced back and forth in the tent her head meeting the top of the tent.

I didn't know how to think and react to everything that was happening so fast one minute I was being attacked by contorted unknown creatures which in my former world everyone would definitely freak out at the mere sight and desperately call for damage control, while the next one I'm being addressed as the Chosen One of which I have no idea why I even ended up here.

"Uhm no it's fine I kind of feel dizzy maybe it's been due to the constant fainting I'll just stay here." I declined feigning a smile judging by all the sinister events I've been passing through since I came here made me conclude that my little life was in perpetual danger I thought dejectedly as I oddly preferred Aunt Rosy's nagging more than ever to this plight.

"Oh No! I can't leave you here Toki has put me in charge of you and I don't want to seat here missing out on all the fun so you'd have to come I can show you some really cool stuffs." Gaylia convinced enthusiastically still hopping then she held onto by hands pulling me futilely to stand up.

"Ok fine but for only a few minutes Oh what was I even thinking there's no time in your world." I tapped by cheeks in realization watching the way Gaylia's face changed into a disbelieve expression.

"You seriously don't know about the Grain Seeds of time?" She gawked staring at me.

"What's that?" I asked in total puzzle unable to get her message.

"The more reason you have to come along you'd get to see stuffs I even heard there's a time travel cloak game going on come on hurry." She rapped pulling me alongside her out of the tent while my towering figure compare to hers staggered behind.

My eyes sparkled in hope at her last statement maybe I was giving up too soon? Maybe there could be a possible way out of this nightmare that I was ignoring? These questions ran through my thoughts.

"Let's go to the time travel cloak game first." I blurted out on seeing her advance towards a group of noisy Elves all in the name of music flinging themselves up matching the beats they prattled echoing in the air.

"I told you see,now you're getting the hang of it okay let's go." She agreed nudging my legs while we squeezed ourselves in and out of the hustling Elves finally reaching the game arena a group of tiny crowd gathered in front of a platform, wriggling and pushing themselves to get a better view as the Elf host spoke loudly to calm their impatience.

I just stood at the rear end since I could see everything thankfully because of my height then Gaylia held my hand.

"Let's move to the front I can't see a thing." She complained pulling me along again,

"I'll just stay here you can go ahead." I didn't want her to see me disappear as I had made a mental note to secretly participate in whatever they were doing and transport myself back to my world alerting them would be fussy.

"I thought you wanted to go into the cloak not so? I also want to join in let's do it together." She shouted at the top of her voice elatedly as the noise in the arena heightened.

"Ok let's go for it." I called out feigning delight allowing her get suspicious was the last thing I'd let happen unless my plans could get ruined and also feeling grateful that Loel wasn't around to watch over me deemed this the best opportunity.

We moved to the front line after great effort in successfully wiggling our way in.

Then the host spoke,

"Hey fellow Elves and creatures of the peaceful Slvkinles land I hereby open the time travel cloak game officially who would be our first willingly customer to try out our newest invention with a pair of shiny cowries to drop in the box if you get transported successfully?"

All hand raised in eagerness making the arena quieten with expectant breathings as everyone craved to time travel.

I looked on my eyes scrutinizing the cloak on the platform it seemed like a newly brought in invention giving off the You-can-Do-it-Amber vibe I slowly put my hand up almost immediately the host sighted me.

"Oh there's a special human friend of ours that wants to try it out first come up Princess." He said motioning for her to climb up

"Oh my! you got picked first how exciting too bad two people can't fit in there but have fun!" Gaylia called out after my already moving figure cheerfully

"The trick is you can tell it where you want it to take you after which you'd push a wooden switch over in order for it to bring you back to the present unless you'd stay in your time travel forever beware, choose your words and action wisely." The host warned in a creepy-life manner making my heart skip a bit I advanced towards the cloak nervously.

"Go Princess!" Gaylia cheered from the crowd below

I turned back to look at her one last time yes! I was really leaving this strange world though it's been kind of an adventure dangerous one at that but still I've met few amazing people like Loel,Zaki now Gaylia.

"Are you ready?" The host asked taking out a magical wand he swirled it in readiness to cast a spell.

"Yes!" I answered touching my chest anxiously already inside the cloak it was really dark inside I thought brushing aside the odd feeling in an instant it vibrated mildly at first then it began to twirl violently while I screamed in fright.

"Where does your highness wish to go?" A malicious voice called out in echoes.

"Take me back to my former world." I answered despite my shaky voice what mattered the most to me was leaving as I didn't press on the wooden switch of course I never wanted anything to do with this world ever again.

Then a rumbling sound deafened my ears as I struggled to maintain my balance futilely, the voice echoed again this time more louder.

"There you shall go...
