Chereads / Regress For Revenge / Chapter 28 - First Class

Chapter 28 - First Class

Gancelot takes his shirt off and they both start running laps around the training grounds.

- Is there*huff huff* a reason as*huff huff* to why *huff*we are doing laps*huff huff* around the training grounds*huff huff*.

- I'll tell you when we are done with this. answers Noah. Right now, it would be best if you focused on regulating your breath so that you don't run out of stamina faster than you're supposed to.

- Yes master!

Noah takes a look at Gancelot.

" I never said that I was gonna be your master. Aaaaaah, let's just focus on this. If he gets stronger it's good for me too anyways."

[30 minutes later]

- Your stamina is pretty good, I'm surprised. says Noah.

- That's only*huff* normal for royalty.

- Is that so? asks Noah.

Gancelot sits down, relax and catches his breath.

- Yeah as soon as were six we are taught swordsmanship and magic theories so that no matter what energy we awaken at the coming-of-age ceremony we already have the basics down. answers Gancelot. Now can you tell me why a magician like me needs to do stamina and physical training?

- You asked a magician like you? Why?

- I mean you do this training because you have a constitution, right? So that the spells you use on your body don't destroy your body, right?

- How do you know that? asks Noah

- It's pretty obvious. If a magician uses a spell on their body without having a constitution their body will take a lot of damage and even if they heal themselves with a potion, with the help of a healing magic user or a contract holder with the power to heal there would still be residual damage which would activate each time they use magic. But you, after your fight with Darius there was no sign of residual damage, and earlier during your fight, you used the same spell but this time you didn't take any damage. Therefore I guessed that you had a constitution and if I were to take it further I would say that it's a special constitution since a resistance type, no matter how much you train it won't change, and an immunity one will make you completely immune.

{Noah}

" He guessed all that... He doesn't seem to be lying. That means that his observation skills are that good. For his age, I would say he's above average, in other words, he has talent. Is that why he was killed in my past life? Well, it seems like you are quite lucky in this life."

- The reason is simple and you can also find it in what you asked me to train you.

Gancelot takes some time to think.

- hmmmm.... Oh! It's because of the close combat technique!

- Yes. Having the technique won't mean much if you can only use it a few times you also need the stamina to carry them out throughout your fights.

- Makes sense.

- That's not all. When you will fight, martial artists in particular, do you think you get the privilege to not move the only ones that can do that are those on the level of Darius and the King's Sword or if you are fighting someone much weaker than you are. And even if you are a King's Sword, if you are fighting with another King's Sword or someone on the level of the King's Sword then you will need to move if you don't want to get it by your opponent's attacks. Never forget that no matter what energy you use mobility is extremely important in a fight and if mobility is important then obviously you need stamina in order to support and keep your mobility throughout the fight.

- I must say you are extremely impressive. When I listen to you it's as if I was listening to a veteran that fought countless battles.

{Noah}

"If only you knew, If only you did."

- Anyway, that'll be all for today.

- Really?

- Yeah. supper is in less than twenty minutes and tomorrow is the first day of classes so you should get some rest.

They both pick up their shirts.

- Then I'll see you, tomorrow master.

Gancelot bows his head and leaves. After he leaves Noah, leaves too.

[At the dorm]

Noah opens the door and enters the dorm. When he enters he sees that everyone had already started eating, so when he opens the door all the people in the cafeteria were looking at him.

{Noah}

" What is it? Why are they all looking at me like that?.... Is it just me or is it a bit colder than usual in here?"

- Woah! Isn't that your brother, Jynn. says Tiana. I have to admit that his body is quite something!

{Noah}

" What is she talking about? And why are the girl's faces so red?"

- Noah... calls Jynn.

Jynn points at his upper body and then points at Noah's upper body.

- Your shirt. says Jynn.

{Noah}

" What the hell is wrong with him? It's not like I'm walking without my .... Shit."

Noah touches his torso, then looks at his torso realizing that the reason why people were looking at him strangely outside was that he wasn't wearing his shirt. He heads up to his brother's room and takes a bath after the bath, he heads back downstairs and orders some spicy chicken. He takes his plate and goes to sit down next to his brother. When he sits down he looks at his brother's plate and realizes that everybody including his brother was almost done eating. He eats under the stare of many girls that had seen him shirtless earlier. After finishing his food he and his brother head back up to their room, brush their teeth, and go to sleep.

[Next morning]

After doing his toiletries and having breakfast. Noah put on his uniform and headed to class.

[In class]

Every first-year students of the Blue dorm are already in class. The door opens and the one who walks through it is none other than the Blue dorm master.

- Hello class! let me properly introduce myself, my name is Andre, Andre Layton.

{Noah}

" Andre Layton...Layton... I heard that name somewhere... I remember! He is the brother of Duke Qendrick Layton. Is this not a coincidence..."

[Flashback]

- As you know the Layton are a family that mainly produces mana-users and they have an obsession with magic they are always searching for ways to make themselves stronger and from what Galliard told me before you guys arrived it seems like Duke Qendrick said that Noah had a special body and he wanted to research him. Says Darius with hesitation while looking at my Father.

[End of Flashback]

- Excuse me!

- Yes Noah?

- How long have you been teaching at the academy?

- It's been five years now.

{Noah}

" So he's not a new teacher... Still, Duke Qendrick might have asked him to keep an eye on me. This is bringing back bad memories. The Layton family is a family that I need to destroy for what they did and are going to do in the future. Until then I can't let them acquire too much information about me."

- Now everyone sits and stays silent. I will now explain how the academy works. You probably already heard or noticed that in the academy we don't use the same monetization system that society uses. If you open the drawer of your desk you will find a watch inside.

The students open their desks and inside is a white watch with a touchscreen.

- The watch has two modes the first is screen mode. This will display on the watch screen and the second is hologram mode by switching to hologram mode the display will be in the air and you can still interact without touching the screen but by touching the floating one however everybody will see what you are doing.

- Waa it really works. some random students say.

- You will be able to try all that later, so let's focus. The main function of the watch is related to the thing that all students want and that makes the difference in whether your life at the academy will be hell or it will be paradises, it is also the reason why titles don't matter here. The academy's own currency: Points. Why do you think the academy lets you use the cafeteria menus when they could have simply handed you a free meal without telling you anything, why do you think they explained how to use points already at the cafeteria? hmm, anybody can answer?

{Noah}

" I see... this is quite something. The reason why they used the cafeteria in such a way is that food is important for everybody whether you are a commoner or a Noble. You need to eat and from what I saw the free menu gives you barely enough to last until the next meal. By showing us that they tried to make us understand from the get-go money, title, or connections mean nothing here even to eat you only need one thing; points. And by showing us that on our very first day, they made us restless. they talked about points without mentioning how to earn points... So this is the academy...interesting!"
