After settling on our seats my brother offered me a tight smile and ordered and the rest of the court to settle. At first the court members discussed about kingdom affairs, water distribution in some areas, food distribution to the orphans and so much more.
I always admired the administration of the kingdom, when the officials were not being vicious beasts they were very organized and orderly and I would say that was what made Reinsas stand till now during the period of war.
"The king's coronation will be in two weeks to give the king enough time to prepare" Lloyd announced and sat. One member raised his hand after the silence had descended for too long, my heart started to sing the song of fear but I pushed it to the back of my mind. Will nodded for his approval to speak.
"Your Majesty, we have a threat to our kingdom now that the king is dead the northern kingdoms pause a threat to attack" oh yeah, the war and not me, obviously there were bigger issues to handle than a bastards son's daughter. Will was quiet for a while but Lloyd stepped in, maybe to help, I wasn't sure.
"All that shall be discussed with the king and plans for peace shall be discussed too so you don't have to worry" he said with assurance so it would sink in to their minds although it was false. Will offered a smile to Lloyd who smiled, he was also struggling to be the good king needed in the kingdom and fulfill his duties diligently.
"If there is nothing more to discuss then this meeting is adjourned the next meeting will be after my coronation" Will announced with haste and I heaved a sigh of relief, what had I been so worried about anyway. Maybe they had something to say about me but not just yet, not before the coronation. Everybody rose as we both walked out, I followed after him to ask permission to go to Oregon.
"Will can I speak with you for a minute?" I asked with a small voice after a few minutes of walking. He stood and waited for me to speak up, but not before Lloyd cast one of his glares my way.
"I want to go to Oregon tomorrow so I was asking if you can grant me the permi-" worry covered his features but I knew it was just concern for me, it was not each day that I said I wanted to leave the castle, I had always cocooned myself inside the castle except when I was forced to go to my grandmothers place when I was sixteen.
"Why?" he asked and I continued, "I want to investigate father's murder myself" I said and he nodded.
"Ok you can go and if you figure out something that could help us find the killer please inform me first" he pulled me closer and hugged me while caressing my hair. I nodded. My afternoon was spent with Chance as usual telling me of the girls he went out with and I know in literal sense he hadn't gone out with any girl or lady in the past two years. When they rejected him he said he was too mature for them anyway.
All plans had been laid out about our travel tomorrow.
We would travel on horses and in casual clothing to avoid attracting too much attention and attacks too. It would be half a day travel to Oregon, we would spend the night there then we would come back the following day.
AXEL & LINA
*This is six years in the past when Rosalina was sixteen and Axel was eighteen. It will be in Axel's POV*
I dressed in my coat and walked out of the house after giving my mother her medicine and showering my sister and putting her to bed. The night cold made me shiver instantly, the muddy roads in Reinsas made it even harder to walk to the market. I needed to get herbs for my mother to reduce the pain from her leg, she was infected while in the labour farms allocated by the King Kaden and my sister was at her time of the month so I had to get her essentials too.
My father, that ugly bastard who saw it best to ran away from his family and leaving us, no me, to deal with his debts. The noisy town market welcomed me with all those smells from different stalls and shops, blacksmith shops and brothels too.
The silver coins in my pocket would be enough to get me what I needed so I walk directly to the shop and buy them. The shopkeeper looks at me pitifully and I know why, the family left by their father. In such a town, news always spread fast.
I hated the pity. This kingdom has a thing for the fathers to the children and his roles too, even the royal family the king is a bastard's son. So I get it.
"Can you keep it for me I will pick it up in a few minutes, please sir" he regarded me for a while but nodded and I was grateful for him since I had to go pay my father's debts to her.
Of all people, he owed a woman, a man was much better since I would just work for him but an evil nasty and horny woman was much worse since I had to use my body as per her requirements and I was sure it would be for a long long time unless I escaped this city but I couldn't, I had a family to take care of and my abilities weren't much of a help.
I walk down the narrow street to her brothel, women in most ridiculous of clothing are everywhere. I pause to listen some conversation of some of her goons.
"Are you crazy, no way am stealing from a princess you sick shit am not going to die this soon" the dwarf tells the tall man who I don't recognize.
"Why, she will come here tomorrow and the castle doesn't want the people to know about it, her grandmothers place is on Willow street" the tall man walks away but the dwarf stops him and I listen closely.
"I will do it but not yet after some time, I have another assignment right now" they are professional thieves and they plan to steal from a princess. How amusing but if I save the princess from them, I might be rewarded by the castle with some gold coins. The man must be from the castle since he is in luxurious clothing. I don't stay to hear his response and walk in.
I walk in to her chambers with the idea in my head but push it to the back of my mind when I see the twenty year old woman on the bed, naked as a new born. I cringe but walk towards her to 𝑠𝑒𝑟𝑣𝑖𝑐𝑒 her.

I hope Axel's story is not annoying in any way. I want to connect the story properly so that we can have a clear understanding in volume two.
