Chapter 3 - Prologue

I was sitting at the confession stand as I saw my wife Emma sitting across the courtroom. Mr. Howard Lacey, a public defender, was questioning me about the incident that happened many years ago, and I haven't said a word about it in so long. I saw the people who were listening to me speak into the microphone while I sighed in the air as I continued to confess to Mr. Lacey. Mr. Lacey was objected by my own lawyer, Mr. Smithson due to a misunderstanding, and the judge overruled Mr. Smithson.

Judge Johnson told me to answer the question, and I sighed, swallowing my own saliva as I was being watched by the whole world listening to me confess to my fears. I even saw my own father sitting down in the middle of the courtroom. I was afraid of him, and I thought I was going to die because of the stress I was under.

"What happened to you, Mr. Barber?" Mr. Smithson asked.

I swallowed once again, and I couldn't even speak. I was scared to tell the truth, even though I promised the oath that I would.

"Mr. Barber, please answer the question," Mr. Smithson says.

I took a deep breath, and slowly let out a sigh, and I even saw my mother sitting next to my father, along with my ex-girlfriend, Ella Waters.
