Xeris run for a long distance without stopping for any reason.The image of seeing her father and siblings in a car accident came in her mind and it made her step on a rock and twisting her leg and falling to the ground near a lake.She sat there crying in pain of losing loved ones in the same year also losing a best friend.She was crying in so much pain that she ended up passing out by the lake.A group of people were passing by and a young man saw her.He came down from his horse and went to where Xeris was.
"What is lady like her doing here passed out in the open."the man asked himself.
"I'm sure its a trap lets leave her alone."another man said coming to the scene.
"Don't you have any more dignity to the females?If she is at the brink of death and we could have save her."a man said coming from behind.
"But it could be a trap..."
"If she was your daughter would you have said that?I'm not going to let one of my people die as i watch."the man said going close to Xeris and carrying her and placing her in front of his horse.
"Lets go back to camp we will be back to the kingdom by tomorrow night and at the village by noon."the man said before riding off.
(At the camp)
The man and his group arrived when the sun was about to set.
"Your highness who is she and why are her feet bleeding so much?"a woman asked.
"Please call the doctor and after that prepare a hot bath for me."
"Alright i will do as you wish."
"Thank you Trisha."the man said before entering his tent.
After a while the doctor arrived after the man came out of his bath.
"Is she alright?"
"You don't have to worry your majesty she is perfectly fine she has a few bruises on her feet and she has twisted her left leg but it will heal in a few days.I have to leave apply this ointment to her legs in the morning and in the evenings and she should take it easy for a few days for her to heal quickly."
"Thank you for coming.I wont take much of your time.Good bye"
The prince saw the doctor to his carriage and went back to the tent and found himself staring at Xeris as she laid unconsciously on his bed wrapped around the sheets.
'Who is this stranger that is asleep on my bed.Her site is memorizing and that of sadness.Even when she is asleep she still sheds tears of sadness.What is it or who could have caused you so much pain to you for to shed tears of sadness when asleep.'
"Roshan!"
"You called my prince?"
"Yes i want you to find more about this girl and who caused so much pain to her.Understood?"
"Yes you will have it by tomorrow morning before the departure for the journey."
"Thats good you may leave." Roshan bowed before leaving the tent.
Around 2am Xeris woke up and looked around.She saw the man sleeping on the sofa looking at the ceiling.She stepped down and felt a sharp pain when she stood up and fell back down on the bed.She took in a few deep breathes before standing up and walking a few feet from the bed and falling to the ground with a loud thud.She rubbed her feet gently and felt something warm from her feet and saw it was blood.She stared at her hand for a while before the prince spoke to her.
"Are you alright?You hurt your feet and we found at the lake near a path we were using."the prince explained as he carried her back to the bed.The prince picked up a piece of cloth and started cleaning the blood.Xeris just stared as she listened to him speak.The prince noticed her silence and told her that she could ask him any question or request anything.
"Why did you help me?I wanted to be killed so that i could free everyone from my burdens. I wanted to join my father and siblings and my friend there is no point of me living in this world as long as there is no one who understands me and my situation."Xeris said crying.The prince wiped the tears from her cheeks with his thumb and looked into her eyes.
"Then you can share your pain with me.Let me take you to a spot and we can talk there alone."the prince said still looking at Xeris in the eye.Xeris could not say anything but just nodded her head.The prince helped Xeris walk to where there was a pond and there were fireflies all around and in the pond the moons reflection was seen.
