Chapter 14 - CHAPTER 14 KYLE'S POINT OF VIEW

I asked Anna to go out with me and we spent our whole day in an amusement park that Liam recommended to me. I'm amazed at how Anna bravely rode the roller coaster even if she feels nervous and scared.

After our long day in the amusement park, I decided to show her my favorite place here in the city. After a few hours of driving, we finally made it to our destination. "We're here," I said before I got out of the car and ran to the passenger door to open it for her. I brought her to a cliff that's been with me and listens patiently to all my rants in my life when I don't have someone to talk to.

She looked and arched her eyebrow at me when she saw nothing at all, only darkness. "Relax," I said, and pointed at the cliff again, "Look." The whole city started to turn on its lights like a chain reaction, from buildings, street lights, and from the cars that were stuck in the traffic.

I can see how Anna's eyes sparkle like stars when she sees the scenery. This scenery reminds me of a movie scene, so eye-catching. The wind here is also refreshing and cold just like in our town, unlike in the city which is so hot even at night.

"Do you like it?" I asked her, I also offered my hand to help her walk to the bench just a few steps away from us. Though she's not wearing high heels, I still want to offer some help that she didn't turn down. Besides, this is unexpected so I want to help her out.

"How did you find this place?" I sat beside her and gave her my sweater so she wouldn't catch a cold. "I need a place where I can be alone and at the same time, at least, feel like I'm home," we both admire the busy city, even up here you can hear the noise from down there.

"Have you visited the town? How are your parents? Are they living with you?" My parents? I've made so much trouble for them when I'm not myself, how can I still go home after what I did? I even caused my Mom an illness.

"No, I'm afraid to go back," good thing it's not that bright here, she can't see what my reaction is. I hope darkness can also conceal the sadness in my voice. I felt her put her hand on mine, her hands were so warm, and the cold air in the ravine did not affect them.

"It's ok, you don't have to be afraid," we're both looking into each other's eyes, I know it because I can feel her gaze on me, I can feel the sincerity in her voice.

"Whatever happens in the past remains in the past now. Your parents love you more than anything else in this world. They understand your situation and the most important part is, they love you no matter what," she knows how to warm up a cold heart.

She said the words I want to hear from someone I love. Love? If I think about it, she's always there by my side through my ups and downs, she always offers her arms open wide and shoulders to cry on every time I need it.

She always thinks of advice like a pro when I asked her and let me make my final decisions based on them, she's willing to adjust for me and accepts me for who I am, no matter how stupid I am. When I am lost, she always finds a way to find me. We're sharing happiness, heartbreaks, and problems.

I'm looking for a partner in the wrong place. I already found her a long time ago, she's just in front of me, waiting for me to realize my true feelings. Instead of seeking her true feelings for me, I looked so far away and ended up not just brokenhearted but also putting a long distance between us. Far enough that I can't reach her however I try. I'm so stupid to let go of such a good person, and I'm an idiot for not noticing her efforts.

That's right. It makes sense. I'm always thinking of her when she's not around me, worried for her when she's down, I'm happy when she's happy and sad when she's sad. Even though I'm with Stephanie I'm still looking for her, longing for her, I want to be with her, always.

I'm so dumb not to realize that the person I truly love is just right beside me, eating, laughing, studying, and crying with me. The person my life always depends on, Anna Black. I love Anna Black.

I sent her home after a few moments of staying there. It's getting late and we have our work the next day. "Thanks for the ride, Kyle," she looked at me through the driver's window. "Get inside, it's kind of cold here," I said, "I'm not leaving until you get inside," she was surprised by what I said, maybe because I sound bossy now.

"Yes, Manager Smith," she put her right hand on her forehead and saluted at me for sounding like an army officer, we both giggled at what she did. She waved her hands to me and started to walk to the entrance and didn't look back.

Since then, I have always visited her at her workplace. If I have free time, I visit and help them in the clinic to take care of Brandon, the dog who was hit by my car. They also let me help in the café if they needed it.

It's Saturday today, I'm off so I'm going to visit Brandon again in the clinic to see her. I parked my car near the clinic, and I bought some snacks for everybody there. I also bought her favorite cake from the café, an ice cream cake. I saw her standing there in the reception area, talking with the nurse stationed there, she looked around and saw me. I looked like a crazy bastard walking towards the door with boxes of cakes in my hands.

"Hey!" She greeted me. "Hey!" I greeted her. "Hello, Mr. Smith," the nurse greets me too, "Those boxes of cakes are too many for Ms. Black to enjoy," she said playfully.

"Don't worry, these cakes are for all the staff here. I don't want her to complain that I'm making her fat," I looked at her skittishly. She glared at me and then smacked my right arm, "Don't ruin me in front of my co-worker," she said while peeking inside the box.
