Chereads / Rebirth of a Killer / Chapter 21 - Journey.

Chapter 21 - Journey.

Once Smith left te city a few weeks later a new escort arrived. But this one wasn't like the previous one's.

It was a five man troop send by the royal Court, to invite the Duke to a meeting with the kings adviser about yearly harvest, income, ect..

These men also arrived a bit differently, they arrived with flying beasts, the beasts looked like big eagles.

...

The eagle made a sort of crying yelp as the Duke's city appeared in its eyesight. The rider on its back soflty patted its neck. "what's wrong Kiki?" he asked the beast.

The beast didn't answer and started to fly a bit faster. Now the rider could also see the city, his eyes wident 3/4 of the whole city was in runes.

He could also see thousands of corpses, a mix between ants and humans. 'what the fuck happened here?'.

He and the others landed on the ground not much later. They inspected everything trying to find survivers but to no avail, everyone was dead.

The scariest thing was the ball room in the Dukes mansion. Only clothes were left, with some dust.

It unknowingly send a shudder trough all 5 of the royal messagers.

After that they quickly departed back to the kingdom, they needed to report this.

...

Smith was running at a moderate pace, he ran towards the south were he would supposedly find gaints.

He was really interested in this new race, as Rudeus hadn't explained what they looked like and in the books that he had read they were portruded as vile and tall monsters.

Smith then felt his neck for a moment, his new space storage was really useful.

He had to experiment a bit with it as he didn't now how to exactly use it.

But after a few days he got the hang of it. He had to pump a lot of many in it before he heard something break.

He didn't know what it was but now he could look "inside" of it. Inside was some useful stuff, like all the Dukes gold, juwelry and a collection of swords.

None of the swords really fitted in smith's hands, but he could still sell them for something more useful as they all looked expensive.

He also found that he could store things in it. So for example if he had a rock in his hand and he wanted the rock to enter the storage it would enter it.

But he had to hold the object or else it wouldn't work. He also didn't have an exact measurement of how big the storage was but he guessed that it was around 30 cubic meters, which was big enough, for now.

As Smith traveled trough the country he found some city's and and some village's.

He left them alone for now, as he didn't really need anything and the exp they would give him would be almost nothing.

He also didn't attack them as he just destroyed a whole city of a Duke, and if random village's started to get decimated, they would quickly link them to each other.

The more he traveled the more he saw less and less village's, until a week later, almost reaching the border between the kingdoms.

He saw a huge fort. A was located on top of a hill and had walls that were enormous. On top of the walls there were also some weird spike things.

He couldn't exactly make out what they were. But he didn't really care as he didn't have to attack the fortress.

He quickly moved around it, and traveled farther towards the border. After another day of running he finally saw it.

The border was surrounded by wooden spikes and a crudely made wooden wall.

As he got closer to the wall he could see a small hole.

He looked trough the hole and saw an eye on the other side. The one on the other side immediately started yelling.

Smith also didn't understand this language as it sounded a lot different from the one he had just learned, it sounded rushed an unfished.

Smith started to climb over the wall, and on the other side he saw a lot of tall humans, around 3-4 meters tall.

They all held crudely made weapons. Smith really didn't think much of it, he then jumped down from the wall.

As soon as he touched the ground the tall humans rushed towards him, all showing killing intent.

'why the fuck are the so aggressive?'

Smith sighed, he launched himself forward and put his claws deep inside of one of the tall humans.

His claws easily penetrated in its chest and even when trough the whole body, coming back out at the end with a squashed heart.

[low giant (lvl 10) killed)

[8000 exp]

The other low giants saw their comrade getting killed and went into a frenzy, they started to swing their weapons around.

They didn't even touch Smith with their weapons, Smith dodged everything slowly and killed all the low giants that were attacking him.

[low giants (lvl 10) killed] x134

[1'072'000 exp]

[level up 60 - > 61]

After killing all the low giants that rushed at him he walked deeper in to their territory.

After a kilometer or so he saw another wall this one was of better quality. And also had low giants patrolling on top of the wall.

Once on of the low giants saw Smith he started to lick his lips and pointed at him, he said a few words that sounded more like the language he had previously learned to his comrades.

Smith got the message behind what the low giant was trying to convey. He wanted to eat him.

Smith ran towards the wall and jumped on top of it, starteling the low giant.

This one was a bit taller than the other low giants that he had just killed. But that didn't matter to Smith, he jumped up a little bit and grabbed the giants throat, and then ripped it off the giant.

Blood started to spurt over Smith. He looked at the other low giants.

He saw that they were hesitant to fight 'are these a bit smarter than the other ones?'

For some reason Smith wanted to yell something. So he did exactly that, an eardeafing roar came out of his mouth.

All the giants in the vicinity looked at him fear was visible in their eyes for a second, but then they got angry, it was a small lizard who came in their territory why should they be scared of it.

The low giants on the border wall also heard this roar and immediately started to rush towards it, it made them angry for some reason.

Thousands of giants started to rush towards smith.
