Jason breathed heavily as he struggled to open the huge body bag. Tears streamed down his face. So many thoughts ran through his head in that second. 'My mom's in a body bag...does that mean she's? No! That can't be, she can't be! I shouldn't have left her! I shouldn't have left her alone! I should never have!!!'
He finally tore the bag open to find the grandfather clock in it. Confusion hit him like a storm. 'Why were they taking the clock? Who are these people anyway? Are they robbers?'
He looked around him to find the cloaked people still standing very still, all facing his direction and looking right at him.
Jason got to his feet. He was angry and needed answers.
"Who the xxxx are you people and where is my mom?!!!" He screamed.
One of the cloaked people walked towards him and slowly revealed his face under the cloak.
Jason's eyes widened when he saw the face of the person under the cloak. He looked like he had seen a ghost.
"Y-you...it's y-you from the street that day. B-but you were dead, I saw you, you were covered in blood!!" Jason stuttered moving back in agonizing fear.
This man standing in front of him was the man he woke up next to that day on the street.
He was alive! And he was standing right in front of him.
The strange man knelt to the ground and bowed his head to Jason. "Our King! It is our utmost pleasure to serve you."
At the sound of his voice, the rest of the cloaked people fell to their knees and bowed to Jason.
Jason was terrified. What was going on in his house?!
"Where's my mom! What have you done with her?" He asked with a lot of fear in his heart.
"Your mother is fine, but you appear not to be." The man looked up and met Jason's eyes with his glowing red eyes.
"I swear on my honor as your soldier to restore you just as you have restored me my king! And we will fulfill the purpose for which you have resurrected us!!!" The man yelled as he promised.
"We swear!!!" The other cloaked people roared at Jason.
'Oh no!! No no no!!! They want to resurrect King Rami inside of me that's why they're taking the clock. I've gotta stop them now!' Jason thought.
"I'm sorry! I can't let you do that. My name is Jason Rami and I'm not your king! I'm not just some child you can use to do your evil bidding! My prom is next month and I'm taking the girl I love as the regular high school student I am! I will NOT let you ruin our lives!!" Jason declared as he prepared for battle.
He gathered all his might and started attacking the cloaked men. Hitting them in the head with his heavy muscles. But as each one fell, they seemed to get back up with the same speed and just continue staring at Jason motionless.
Jason fought and fought but it was all an effort in futility. Soon, he ran out of energy.
-Pant, pant-
"You all are not human are you?" He asked out of breath.
"We are what you have made us and we are grateful." Their leader spoke.
"You however are NOT our King...yet! But soon you will turn!"
Jason laughed in scorn. "Look, I don't think you know this, but I think your king is scared of me. He hasn't come back to my body for a while now, okay? Maybe you should worry about his mental health because I think I've made him a little shy with the sheer force of my will power." Jason boasted.
"Hahahahahaha!" The cloaked evil man's laugh echoed through the house. "You really think you're strong enough to resist the mighty King Rami! Hahaha! Let me tell you something child, our King is smarter than you could ever be! How do you think he resurrected us if you didn't let him in?"
"He suggested that we deceive you into thinking he didn't manifest at night anymore. He performed the resurrection ritual and left your body early but commanded us before he left to clean you up and get you home safely so you wouldn't suspect a thing until he's done with resurrecting us all! Hahahahaha!! Silly child." The man roared with laughter at Jason.
The life drained out of Jason's face as he heard this.
'No wonder...it makes sense. The strange underwear I always woke up in. It wasn't mine at all was it? The tiredness! The weakness! The stressed eyes in the morning! All of it! I never escaped him, did I? I've been doing his bidding this whole time without knowing it.' Jason thought. His mind was filled with so many things at once. He felt devastated.
He fell to his knees and held his head. Every victory he thought he had had was a lie, a product of a shameful deceit.
'Th-that means...CLEO!!!'
"What have you done with Cleo?! Did you do this to her too?" Jason grabbed the cloak of the evil leader and demanded answers.
"Haha...I don't have to answer to you child!!!" The man kicked Jason to the floor. "I answer to my King and only my King! And soon, he will be back again to lead us to the destruction of this world!" The man turned around to his people.
"Come my men! Let us break the seal and release our King!!!" He roared. His roar was backed up with a loud response from the rest of the cloaked men. Their roars filled the air and transformed into unholy shrieks and whispers of dark voices.
They suddenly began to move again. They took the clock and left the house.
Jason was petrified with fear. He couldn't move. He felt himself lose all the hope he had before.
"M-mom! MOM!!!" He suddenly remembered and rushed to his feet to look for his mother.
He rushed through the house screaming his mother's name and praying that the worst hadn't happened.
"Mom! Mom!!! Where is she?" He yelled.
Jason burst into her room to find her on her bed sleeping so peacefully and soundly.
"Mom!" He rushed to her side to examine her body for wounds. She appeared unharmed by the cloaked men. They were telling the truth, she was safe.
Jason sighed and melted like jelly into his mom's bedroom floor.
'What am I gonna do now? I've gotta save Cleo! I've gotta save the world.' He thought as he held his head trying to fathom any means to stop this evil.
