Looking at the balcony, Aliyah fell in love with it as she sat down, unfortunately her love was cut short by the gentle nuzzle on her feet, ah yes, she had another love, the kitten.
She looked around and found Luke at the door, watching her intently, was this her happily ever after?
"Luke, can you come please?" She asked.
"Sure" he responded. His low gravely voice banging against her ears, she didn't mind.
"What should I name her?" She asked him, Luke sat down beside her, barely centimetres away from her body. The minutes he kept quiet, pondering to himself, felt like eternity to Aliyah "Kayleigh" he finally said.
"Huh? Why Kay?" She asked, "because I love the name." He responded and Aliyah nodded in agreement.
"It is a beautiful name..." Aliyah finally said, grabbing the beast that was lying at her feet into her lap.
"I shall now name you Kayleigh the first" she proclaimed.
Luke sat down, immune to those words as he shook his head. "No. Kayleigh the second" he said quietly stroking her beautiful white fur.
Kay didn't know what was going on but she liked her owners already, as Luke delicately combed her fur with his fingers she felt at peace.
Luke combed her fur with a bigger thought in his mind, he didn't bother looking at her as he stroked, he just kept stroking.
Aliyah put her hand on his hand that was stroking Kay's fur to stop him from hurting the creature.
"Luke stop!" She said to grab his attention. He looked at her and sighed, he took his finger and patted the spot in between her eyebrows.
"What's wrong?" She asked him. "Nothing." He said and she stood up. "Have I told you about the kingdoms before?"
"Uh...no" she responded. "Well.. Sit down!" He said.
"Out of the blue, random creatures made this world. Wizards, werewolves, vampires where the most known because their civilisation were the best, your kingdom, Dynopia is the work of werewolves, the moon, it's quite obvious, especially when they are gifted with the best plants and medicine. Learane, my kingdom is the work of wizards, we are gifted with metals, like silver and gold. But there are more I don't know about, take the cat man for instance, his ancestors are almost unknown."
Luke sighed at his failure to divert Aliyah's attention, he didn't want to make her worry or to know.
"Since you won't tell me, fine. I'm going to the party, hope to see _you_ there" she said sarcastically.
Luke sighed as Aliyah left him alone, staring at the moon. Kay hadn't left with her owner, perhaps she understood Luke needed her more, or should I say Hermes. (A/n: muahahahahahshajs, suspense is this book's middle name)
Luke got up and started his journey to the hall where the party would start in mere minutes, it will be disrespectful if he didn't come.
Kay hopped obediently behind him, her blue eyes seemed to glow in excitement, he liked her already.
He got downstairs and a messenger quickly introduced him, causing the other people part of the party to give a bow to his Highness.
He appreciated the attention, but he then looked around the party, on the throne beside his, sat a pissed off princess that was his queen.
He smoothly walked over to his throne, a glass cup in his hand and a fork in the other, Kay sat down on a beautiful bed that everyone was sure Aliyah had a hand in this, perhaps the locals were surprised a rodent is sitting next to their queen.
He took out his hand for Aliyah to grab, and she held it, unfailingly. With Aliyah standing up he took the fork and gently hit it on the cup, announcing a toast.
"I'd like to give a toast to my beautiful, sweet, wife, without her I'd be nothing, without her words, my life will fall apart" he paused and looked down at Kay, "I'd like to appreciate Kay too, who not only showed up today as dinner but she showed up as a friend to my queen. Aliyah. I guess this is the end of my toast." He said and in one gulp, he consumed his wine.
Not wasting a second later he kissed Aliyah, transferring the wine in his mouth into hers, and sweeping her tongue away. They kissed for what seemed like a minute before Aliyah had to breathe.
She drank the wine and smiled, _finally something that doesn't taste like water._
Luke came up to her ear and whispered, "did I take your breath away?" He asked in a low seductive voice.
She blushed all shades of red before seating on her seat.
The party went on for hours, drinking dancing but the main event was here, slow dancing.
Luke brought out his hand as the sound played slowly. She took it without hesitation and he led her to the dance floor, she had learnt how to dance as a step to the high class society, but she had never slow danced for fun, Luke wrapped his hand around her waist as gently as possible.
And there they were, the centre of attention, everyone's eyes were on them, swiftly moving, turning, swirling like the wind. They took it easy and savoured every moment with each other.
Every second passing was an opportunity to look at each other and admire themselves.
But alas, the music stopped and they had to change partners, Aliyah inwardly cursed this useless tradition of the elite, but she couldn't do anything about it.
Her new partner yanked her roughly into his arms, his red eyes screamed danger to her, his blond hair made Aliyah more certain he wasn't to be messed with. His muscular body was screaming with warning signs all over.
She looked over her shoulder for Luke, she only got a glance of him dancing with a blonde of similar nature, only that she had blue eyes.
The man pulled her face from staring at Luke and made her go face to face with his red eyes, his eyes held fury and power and most especially hate. While Luke's had, pain, regret and a hidden something she couldn't tell what it was.
She started missing her previous enemy. She diverted her eyes to his nose hoping it will have the effect the man that so desperately wanted her gaze. He leaned over to her ear and whispered: "Hello Princess." And slowly his fingers started going south.
