The drive home was a quiet one. Neither Lucia nor Stefan spoke, although Stefan had a lot to say, and he was just itching to let it out.
He turned to Lucia, she was staring out the window, obviously not interested in anything he had to say.
They arrived at the house and he parked the car, just as she was about to get out, he said, "so we're just not gonna talk about this?"
"About what?"
Stefan sighed. They were just going in circles, it was becoming a chore "whatever is bothering you Lucia."
She scoffed in sarcasm, "why do you care so much Ste-"
"Because I ca-," he started yelling in frustration, but then cut himself off and took a deep breath, "because, Lucia, I care. And it's not about my plan, not anymore."
Lucia studied him, shocked at his outburst. He seemed genuine, like he really meant it. His jade eyes that she had come to love were filled with concern.
