Peral
I rushed towards Kate's room and stood by the door looking at her, and noticed her looking around and scanning the room.
"You'll have to wear this," the nurse instructed, walking towards me. I nodded my head, held the plastic blue gown and cap, quickly wore them, and took a deep breath before stepping inside the room.
Kate gazed at me, and my eyes filled with tears. Just a few hours ago, we were running and roaming, and right now she's lying on the bed because of me. I stood frozen at the end of the bed until she stretched her hand reaching out for me.
"It is not your fault," Kate said, holding onto my hands tightly, assuring me it is fine and everything is going to be all right.
I nodded my head, sniffling, and wiped my tears away. I moved closer to her and sat beside her on the small stool.
"I am sorry; I should have taken you with me." I regret it and will carry this all my life, it is my burden.
