Chapter 2 - Welcome to The New CEO

On her second day at the new office, Jane was five minutes late. Fortunately, the office was busy preparing to welcome the new boss. So no one paid much attention to her.

"Because of Nakula," Jane swore under her breath.

Jane had been promoted to finance manager at the company. Her status had risen from just a financial analyst.

Having such an important position, of course, Jane had to give a speech. Although she was also new here.

"Jane, the new boss will be here soon. So prepare all the necessary reports."

Julio, who was in charge of marketing, reminded Jane of this. She understood and just gave a small nod.

"They say the new boss is younger. Jane is ready to show off your skills," Julio said again.

"Huh? What does that mean?" Jane was loading for a moment. What did Julio mean by what he just said?

Jane had come to Jakarta just to find a job and escape the authoritarian attitude of her father who still disliked her. Not merely to find a mate. What's more, the past of both parents is so bad.

"Yes, Jane is beautiful. I think, you can enter the criteria for a new boss," said Julio without feeling guilty.

Hearing this, Jane just rolled her eyes. She was lazy to deal with people like Julio. It was so boring to be friends with.

"Why don't you shut up? Correct what I said."

Jane chose to move a few steps away. Until her gaze met Nakula who had entered the main office.

"She's not Bara's assistant? Have you moved?" Jane said softly. She didn't expect to see Nakula in her office.

"This is Mrs. Jane from Singapore. Recommended by Mr. Samuel. She is currently the finance manager. Her performance is good, every time there is a mist, she always responds quickly to be done."

Suddenly Mr. Anta who is the Operations director was standing in front of her. Complete with Nakula and introduced himself.

"Mrs. Jane, this is Mr. Nakula Kagendra, our new CEO," said Mr. Anta introducing the new CEO to Jane.

Jane was naturally surprised. Unlike Nakula, who looked normal.

"Mrs. Jane?" said Mr. Anta again.

"Ah yes, sorry. Good morning Mr. Nakula, I'm Jane."

Jane politely extended her hand. But it was different with Nakula who only looked at the smooth white hand.

"Okay. After this, gather all the managers. I'll discuss what we should concentrate on in the future," Nakula said without bothering to take Jane's hand.

Embarrassed and resentful, Jane withdrew her hand. The evil laughter from Julio's lips sounded sickening.

"Watch out!" snapped Jane sarcastically.

The meeting room had been transformed into a party. Jane thought it looked like the kindergarten she often saw on television cartoons, belonging to a neighboring country. So crowded and has so many colors.

"What the hell is this?" asked Nakula who was so shocked when he saw this meeting room.

"Uh, how sir?" Anta, who was now Nakula's official assistant, was naturally surprised by what Nakula was asking.

"You think I'm a kid in kindergarten."

Nakula's thoughts were the same as Jane's. The beautiful girl couldn't help but laugh.

"I'm sorry sir, but this is our welcome. The creative team prepared it."

Anta timidly explained. He also couldn't get over the idea of the creative team. But he didn't expect Nakula to dislike it either.

"Gosh, it's only my first day in, I've already gotten such a disgusting reception. I'll give you thirty minutes to clear this up."

Anta nodded in understanding, he quickly left the room and stopped one of the office boys who happened to be passing by the room.

"You...!" Nakula pointed at Jane.

"Yes sir," Jane said without any fear at all.

"Come with me to the room, I need to discuss the most important financial matters. Meetings with other divisions will be rescheduled."

Nakula's words, of course, no one dared to argue. They immediately dispersed, leaving Jane and Nakula alone.

"What are you waiting for? Follow me!"

Jane followed in Nakula's footsteps. She had been so cold throughout their journey. Nakula was also like a stranger who didn't recognize her at all.

At the room labeled CEO, Nakula entered first. Followed by Jane from behind.

"Close the door!" Nakula ordered.

Jane obeyed and slowly closed the door to Nakula's room. When she turned around, she saw Nakula taking off his black suit.

"Sit down first Jane!" Nakula ordered again.

Jane was a little annoyed by this, but she obeyed anyway. She also felt bad for Mister Samuel who had recommended her.

"So stiff," Nakula said in a teasing manner.

Instead of sitting in his oversized chair, Nakula just rested his butt on the edge of the table. Of course, they were getting closer. What's more, Nakula had taken off his jacket and revealed a white shirt that was so clingy.

His muscular body was exposed in a sexy way.

"What do you mean, sir?" Jane asked softly.

"I don't mean anything. I was just surprised to find you here. We'll-"

"Please tell me your purpose sir. I think on your day at work, you shouldn't make small talk. You have a lot of things to take care of, don't you?"

Nakula was surprised that Jane was able to interrupt him. Even though they knew each other, Jane's words were so professional. There was nothing wrong with her words. It was just that Nakula seemed to be getting sarcastic.

"Wow, you're so brave with the boss, aren't you?" said Nakula.

He pulled Jane's chin and brought it closer to his face.

"Aren't you afraid of being fired, Miss?" asked Nakula.

"Ah, I'm very scared, sir. I'm so scared that two gallons of urine came out."

Nakula chuckled. The girl in front of him needed to be taught a lesson. Otherwise, she would continue to slide like this.

"You're so cute. Good thing you're pretty."

Mercilessly, Nakula placed his lips on Jane's. The girl jumped up in surprise. She pushed Nakula's body hard. Unfortunately, instead of Nakula being pushed away, it was her body that tipped over.

The wheels of the chair she was sitting on spun, until it finally slipped. Jane, who was unprepared, tumbled backward. Fortunately, Nakula was able to hold her body.

"Are you okay?" asked Nakula, who was also panicking.

Jane did not answer. She just held her chest which was rising and falling.

They looked at each other for a while, until Nakula's cell phone rang quite loudly.

"Hold on, I'll answer the phone first."

Jane didn't answer she just looked at Nakula who walked over to look at her cell phone.

"Hello Nadine, what's up?" Nakula asked.

"Hi, I'm going to Jakarta this weekend. Can I meet you?"

The voice on the other side of the line was quite loud. Even though she didn't press the loudspeaker button, Jane could still hear.

"Of course. We'll meet."

Jane's eyes rounded. Who was that girl?
