Chapter 3 - So Aggressive the EX

Jane heard the name of the other woman who was called Nakula. Instantly, her heart burned. What's more, their conversation was so warm. It was as if the world belonged to the two of them. The others were just a support system.

"Um, sorry sir, if there's nothing more to talk about, I'll excuse myself."

Jane had already turned around. Strangely, Nakula did not intervene at all. As if the girl's presence wasn't important at all. More important was the girl who called him just now.

"What are you thinking Jane? Of course, over the past five years, there have been a lot of changes. Look at him not only as a talented detective. But now he has a big company."

Back, Jane kept reciting swear words to Nakula. How could she not, that man was deliberately making fun of her. What a disrespectful man.

"Good thing it's only the past. If the future was like that, I'd back out."

Before she knew it, Jane had arrived at her room. She looked around, and the people from her division had already started working.

"Ms. Jane!" called out a person named Rani.

"She has a very frowny face. Did she get angry with the new boss?" she asked again.

"Yes, Ms. Jane. Your lipstick is all messed up," said Gita. The person is next to Rani.

"Yes, it hit the table," Jane said casually. Though in her heart she strongly condemned Nakula's actions.

Look at what Nakula did on the first day. The other employees were already gossiping about her.

"I'm going to the restroom first," said Jane, who had already turned into the bathroom.

"Ms. Jane has such a frown on her face. It's like something happened to her."

"Is Mr. Nakula fierce? But he's so cool."

The distance from the room to the bathroom was quite short. Only ten steps and Jane could still hear what her men were gossiping about. It was incredible.

"How insolent Nakula is! You're going to have a riot. When did he return from Poland?"

Jane realized there was something strange about his words. So all she did was keep quiet while waiting for her nude lipstick to fully absorb into her lips.

"He's going to Poland, Greece, or Russia anyway?" she said again.

Jane hurriedly shook her head hard. He did not want to remember this matter anymore. She had enough of her traumatizing past. It was better for her to look forward.

"Look, Jane, you are beautiful. Smart and kind too. You can have a man like Nakula," Jane monologued.

"He already has a girlfriend. Let's put it that way, shall we?"

Jane smiled in front of the vanity mirror. Her heart ached, but she couldn't give up.

Living the past five years had not been easy. Once you've moved on, the ex comes back. What's more, their jobs must be connected.

Jane wiped away the tears she had unconsciously shed. She didn't expect her life to be this complicated.

"I'm done being sad. Let's continue working on the new car," said Jane, who had started to turn optimistic.

Jane's mood was changeable. Sometimes sad, suddenly turning cheerful, or not infrequently also angry. It depends on how she handles it.

Jane came out of the restroom. Several pairs of eyes watched her. But she didn't care and continued walking to her desk.

"Ms. Jane, I was asked by Mr. Nakula to submit last month's report. Here's the data Miss. He said to explain it to you. I have to see him before eleven o'clock."

Jane accepted the folder from Gita's hand. She just nodded and reassured her that nothing had happened.

"Let me study it first. You can go back, and if there's anything I don't understand, I'll ask you again."

Gita, who was still standing in front of Jane, hesitated. This financial report was the one she had compiled. Jane had only been here once. It must have taken a lot of time to read through everything.

"What's wrong?" asked Jane who was surprised by Gita who was still standing.

"I'm sorry ma'am, is it okay if you're alone? Would you like some company?" she asked cautiously.

She wanted to help Jane but was afraid of offending her boss.

"No problem. I've studied this. I can answer his questions. Just relax."

Being reassured like that certainly made Gita relieved. She could return to her cubicle comfortably.

Meanwhile, Jane was busy opening the report Nakula had asked about. She might have a hard time remembering being so new here. But she was also not a person who never gave up. So while she can learn, Jane will study hard.

Once she was sure, Jane left the room to meet the former jerk who had messed up her day. Jane promised to repay Nakula when the time was right. Just wait and see.

"Excuse me, Mr. Anta. I was called by Mr. Nakula to submit last month's financial report," Jane said politely. She had to pass Anta's desk first before going to Nakula. Which is where the secretary should be.

"Oh yes Miss, Mr. Nakula is waiting for you. Just come in."

Jane nodded. She knocked on the door briefly and opened it.

"Excuse me, sir. This is the report you requested. Please."

Jane handed over the document to Nakula's desk. Instead of welcoming her, Nakula stared at Jane's face.

"Excuse me, sir. Can I help you again?" asked Jane, uncomfortable with Nakula's stare.

"If just we are, just call me Nakula, Jane," Nakula finally said.

Jane smiled faintly. It was a forced smile.

"I'm sorry sir, for the sake of professionalism, I refuse to behave like that. Unless we meet outside office hours. Maybe I'll use that."

Hearing Jane's witty reply, Nakula instantly smiled. He gazed intently into those irises. They were so deep they seemed to hold feelings.

"Then where do you live?" Nakula asked.

"Huh?" Jane was naturally surprised to hear this. "Why are you asking for my home address?" she asked again.

"Well, you said we'd meet outside office hours. Which means at night, right? Girls aren't allowed to go out much at night. So the best place to meet would be at the girl's home."

Jane snorted in annoyance. How could this ex be so aggressive toward her?

"Oh my, sir. Seriously. I mean if you meet by accident. Like in a cafe or restaurant. It's not a deliberate visit to the house. That's called visiting," Jane said irritably.

Nakula of course laughed at this. He couldn't get over Jane's bold response to him.

"Then have dinner with me tonight. At our favorite seafood restaurant. Do you want to?"

Jane gaped on the spot. Did she come here to submit a financial report or to be asked out on a date?

"I'm sorry, sir. I have an appointment later tonight."

"Cancel it."

"You can't do that."

"Why can't you? Give me your number, I'll write it down. You can call me if you cancel your appointment."

Jane sighed softly. This ex had so much sense.
