After that talk, she laid down a training regiment for me to follow. It consisted of a 2-mile (3.21 km) run, 50 push-ups, 50 squats, and 50 Jumping jacks. Then I would do some stretches called standing quad stretch, crossover, and seat stretch. She told me to do this every 2 hours. Mom gave me a device that tells me tells me when it has been 2 hours so I would know when to start the training. My body starts to feel heavy after every 2 hours, my muscles burn every time I walk, jump or use hold some semi-heavy things.
After doing the training I was told to either find some firewood or hunt animals. She knew it would be hard to hunt animals with a sword so she gave me a bow and some stone-headed arrows and said "have fun". Well, you have got to have some versatility, either I use the bow or find something that I could throw at the animal and kill it.
I move through the forest with a makeshift quiver and the bow my mother gave me, I find a horned rabbit-like creature but instead, it has 2 horns and is a little bit bigger, with gray fur. I notch an arrow and let it fly. The arrow flies and barely misses the rabbit and it jumps away.
Going through more of the forest and I find a boar, I start to calm my breathing and concentrate. I then notch an arrow, after drawing the bow and waiting 30 seconds I release the arrow, it hits the boar but it isn't enough to kill it.
I start tracking the boar by looking for signs of blood or boar tracks after 5 more minutes I finally found the boar laying on the ground injured, I then shoot an arrow into it above the leg and it dies.
I find my way back to camp because of the smoke in the air and some landmarks I memorized while going through the forest. I arrive with a boar in my hand and I see my mother and Father sitting by the fire.
(Elevena POV)
I see my son walk back with a boar in his hand, I am delighted to see my son bring a boar back. I then ask my son how it went and he explained to me what happened. I then showed him how to properly gut and cook a boar or medium-sized animal. I ask him about his training and he said he is doing fine. The boar starts to roast over the fire. I tell to him "The reason why I want you to use a bow is so you know how to fight and use one." We get done eating and we talk about some mundane stuff.
(Serules POV)
We all start to fall asleep. The next day was more of the same but all the training got increased by 10 more and a mile. After that day I start going to the woods but this time I'm going to use a sword to hunt instead of the bow, but it is there for emergencies. I hear some slithering and I look around to see a big snakehead poke out of the leaves. In lifts, its head towers over me and looks to be 6 feet, with Black scales, and Orange eyes. My body shivers under its presence.
As soon as I see it I have to take action, I first climb a tree and get my bow ready. I realized My hands were shaking, so I have to take deep breaths and think. My blood starts to boil and my body immediately goes into flight or fight mode. I take my bow out and aim at its eyes I let one fly and it hits its scale, it then bounces off. I unleash my second arrow still aiming at the eyes. I remember that I only brought 10 arrows, so I'm down to 8 arrows.
The next moment my snake extends its head and struck at me, the adrenaline pumping into my veins allowed me to jump off the tree fast enough and somersaulted as soon as I hit the ground. The moment it starts retracting its head I shoot 5 arrows and they all bounce off its scale. Its head fully retracts and it starts swiping at me with its tail.
I jump back and the tail scrapes pasts my chest, then right after the tail strike, it then lunges straight at me, while it is coming toward me, I shoot the last three arrows one of them finally hits its eye.
It starts to go wild the snake thrashes its tail all around and I narrowly dodge the tail thrashing when it gets done panicking it looks at me with its thermal vision and barrels toward me. I jump to the side of the snake but it swings its tail and it lands dead in the center of my chest. It feels like ants are eating my chest, the pain is immense, and my vision is fading.
I use my arms to feel what is around me I feel my sword by my side and I see the snake approach, it slowly slithers toward me, just like it is taunting me, payback for what it has done.
It finally approached close enough, I use the last of my strength and the adrenaline pumping in my veins to stab the second eye.
I somehow muster enough strength to walk behind a tree and the next thing I see is darkness.
(Elevena POV)
I hear the sound of birds taking off and I see some animals running away, that must mean something is disturbing them. I can't help but get worried so I go and check what caused the disturbance.
After a couple of minutes of retracing where the animals fled from I found where the disturbance lies. I see a Gigantic Black scaled sniffing for something, I see my son laying behind a tree all bloody and knocked out.
I am seething with rage, I took out my sword and obliterated the black snake, and took him back to camp. As soon as I get to camp I tell my husband this trip is canceled and I am going to take him to the capital to get medical help from someone with a healing segquin.
(Serules POV)
I start to wake up and I see a roof over my head I look over to see my mom and dad beside me looking at me agonizingly. They look up at me and mom starts crying and hugs me, while my father head pats me and looks visibly less distraught. I am relieved to see them, happiness whirls within me, and I react with a tighter hug back.
After a couple of days of rest, I finally begin doing the training regiment again in our backyard. My mother watches me and during down time mom and I would play or dad and I would talk about important knowledge or play card games and other games to help with memory or basic math and economy.
(3-month Time Skip)
A couple of months passed and I started sparing with my mother training is more intense than before, 300 pushups, 300 squats, 300 jumping jacks, and 10 miles run every 2 hours. But these days when you push yourself to the limit but also take time to have fun with your family, makes me feel alive and elated.
My father and mother alternate making meals for me and they are also teaching me how to cook and bake. After I woke up my mother told me to take a break today so I talked with my father and he told me about Profit and losses, supply and demand. After that, we went out for a stroll around the city which is called Kairo(Capital of Gavillna).
We pass some stands and buy some food and then my dad starts talking about the food business, even though it is a lot to take in I learn a lot about things from him. In the city, there are many things I can't experience at home, like the bustling streets, the people constantly talking, and the different places that catch my eye and draw me toward them.
There are many places that I haven't been to or seen, it makes me want to learn more, and makes me feel refreshed and invigorated.
