Chapter 21 - Fire Materials Expert

Cray brought him out and drove him to the other side of town. They walked into a business building. The building was mostly made of materials that can't be found on Earth. He noticed them using a potion catalyst for window frames. It was probably melted into the glass as well. He wondered if they would ram their heads into the walls if they knew. An ore he saw in bricks at the bottom of the building would melt if he just dabbed on a powder from a common water realm. It would even spread through the ore in the bricks. It would take no more than a touch to bring down this building. He frowned. He should obtain a higher position quickly. There were many things that needed correcting. Let alone all the chances for advancement they passed over.

Cui Xuefeng carried the cage to follow Clay to a side entrance. They took the elevator to the sixth floor and entered a large room with many tables. Clay took the monster and left. He waited for a while until a woman arrived.

"Hello, I'm an Outland Fire Materials Expert from the Novus Association, Huang Lei. I've heard you have some interesting things for me?" She handed him a contract.

It said he wasn't allowed to talk about the items he obtained, and that he was handing them over willingly. It also mentioned a 5% return after the total was calculated. The rest would be bought at its base price. It said that items that took longer than 3 weeks to calculate would be put on hold until a consensus was reached. Meaning he could be put on hold indefinitely if he gave them something super crazy. There were also a few other things he took note of. Overall, he was the one losing out, but it didn't matter because that wasn't his purpose. He signed it. Another page was for him to fill out other information. His name, card number, address, and so on. The last section was a box to enter what he was giving them. It was a small box. He paused.

"I'll fill out the last section later. Please," She motioned to the tables.

Cui Xuefang nodded and went over. He started with the largest items this time. He would be able to unload her properly, after all.

He went to the center of the room and began removing large granite-like slabs. There was a small hill by the time he'd finished. There were 6 different types, but the reddish ones took up the majority of the space. Some of the other types were larger versions of ores he had more of. He went to the first table to pile the smaller pieces of the same ores. However, one of the gray ores couldn't be pulled out for now. He would have to get a particular environment for them.

He then put two spined blue rocks on the table. One was in perfect condition and the other was the one he'd used already. He used this one specifically so they would come to him when they wanted to know how to use it. The two didn't take up much space. He piled white pumice on the rest of the table, careful not to let them touch.

He continued this trend with plants, then with things that didn't fit into any category. A few plants also needed special care, so he didn't take those out yet.

On the next table, he started pulling out red gems. "Do you have a big non-metal bowl I can use?"

Huang Lei opened a door to a closet and pulled out a glass mixing bowl. She set it on the table.

The fist-sized to thumb-sized gems were laid on the table directly. When he got down to the bean-sized ones he put them into the bowl. It took him ten minutes to 'scrape out' all the powder from his 'bag'. Although it was actually separated out in his inventory already. If he wanted to, he could pour it directly out like sand from a bottle. Instead, he continued scooping handful by handful. He had a lot, but it didn't fill the entire bowl she gave him. It was a large, 30 cm tall, bowl.

"You purposefully separated some of them. Can you tell me what made you do so?"

"For Earth ores, this may not be the case, but for items with mana they are more… delicate."

Huang Lei nodded. She accepted that he had at least this bit of understanding. She thought he was just being careful when he separated things. Her eyes widened as he continued.

"For example, I put this white pumice and blue spheres together but they will have a chemical reaction if mixed." He walked over to show her the spines he'd used. "When the pumice is made into a powder it will react with the gel within the spines. I'm not entirely certain why, but they reject one another. So the gel moves to a safe area. Such as a Bogart Heart. Would you like me to show you?" Huang Lei was about to disagree when he said, "You can circulate the Enamored Heart for heat resistance."

"Bogart Heart? Circulate a heart? What does that mean? Did you make it up?"

Cui Xuefeng looked at her, "This knowledge came with my awakening. I have already made one through this process. You can see the spine I used here. However, this is not the ideal usage. I would rather tell your scientists about it and let them find a better way."

"Does it take much time or resources?"

"No, it'll just take a moment."

"Do you mind if it's recorded?"

He knew she was recording the moment he walked in. He glanced at the poor attempt at invisibility that had been cast on a video evidence monster. "Not at all."

She talked about the process a bit more before allowing him to work. He showed her the process. He didn't close the bottom this time, just telling her what he'd done to travel with it. It needed some time before the pumice could be used so they spent 45 minutes talking about the other materials. He also told her about the area he needs for the other materials. Then he crushed the Hallowing White Lapis or pumice like he did in the other realm and rubbed it onto the spine.

Huang Lei was intelligent and instantly found a problem with this, "What if the gel in the spine is too much or too little for the Bogart Heart?"

Cui Xuefeng nodded at her. The date-like gem, the Bogart Heart, taken from within the Spined Fire Bogart, was already being filled in the spine. He used the same Spined Fire Bogart he'd previously used so they could have an untouched one for experiments. The last one he wanted for himself and his family. They were consumables that could be used repeatedly. And because mana types can be passed through bloodline, it would be hard for the country to prove it even if they suspected something.

"On average, there is one heart for each spine and the sizes line up as well. I counted all the ones bigger than the thumb-sized heart I chose, then counted the same number of spines from largest to smallest. The size of the Hallowing White Lapis you need will be about twice the size of the heart. But this doesn't apply to the larger ones. It's better to mash the whole Bogart into a paste and the hearts into pieces first. Not only will this reduce waste, but it will also allow for more control over the size of the enamored heart. The bigger it is, the larger an effect it will have. A thumb-sized one is already very large for a first-timer. For you, this black bean-sized one would be as much as you could take."

"Why is yours so large?"

"My mana is purer and my control finer. There is unlikely a second on the planet who can do so. So be careful, do not repeat my actions. It would be better for those who want to travel into hotter realms to adapt their mana with the cooling stones." He nodded at the table of Orange Rose Obsidian.

"Cooling stones? What?" Huang Lei was startled, "No, those are Orange Rose Obsidian! Our fire mages use them!"

Cui Xuefeng nodded, "I know. The difference between them is that this is heat resistance. This doesn't change the type or quality of mana." He patted the bogart. "The cooling stones will change the type of mana to fire-type. So they are better for fire-specific magicians."

"What? Mana type? Wait, wait, wait, don't tell me. You were only supposed to drop the stuff off. I got distracted! Come on, let's go. They need to check you and stuff. Make sure you aren't dangerous or something." She shooed him through the door.

Cui Xuefeng raised an eyebrow. They wanted to make sure he wasn't dangerous.
