Chapter Thirteen
Charles parked outside the motel his suspects were lodging in. he made his way to the reception and brandished his police badge as standard procedure. He described his suspects to the receptionist and she showed him the way to their suite, half afraid.
He walked steadily to the room, step by step, and then knocked on the door. A sleepy voice asked who it was. He responded to the voice saying it was the police. The voice opened the door on instruction. When they met eye to eye Jude gave a smirk and Charles smiled back.
They knew each other all along.
