Chapter 7 - Ch 7: Carvings

Aiden slowly walked up the stairs, and after reaching the last step, he stood in front of the waterfall. His steps were also at the same level as the water surface of the lake. Looking from a distance, Aiden appeared to be standing on top of the water, looking extremely mystical.

The descension of the waterfall was simply too strong and there was not a single gap between them. Let alone a Third-tier Star Warrior like him, even if it is the First-tier Star Warrior, they will find it extremely difficult to go in through the waterfall.

Aiden knew trying to cross this waterfall with his strength was nothing less than trying to commit suicide, however, this unknown place was too dangerous. Dangers were lurking everywhere. Even if he decides not to cross the waterfall, he will encounter other dangers such as those fish monsters and the Three-headed Jaguar.

Since he would face danger everywhere, why not try to cross the waterfall?

After all, he was brought here by that cute little guy. Although it is very small, it is definitely intelligent and there must be a reason why Aiden was led here by it.

That's why, after observing for a while, Aiden gritted his teeth and no longer hesitated as he walked toward the waterfall.

As he had guessed before, the moment Aiden stepped into the waterfall, he felt as if something incredibly heavy had fallen on his head and body, causing him to scream out loud in pain. He quickly retreated.

The waterfall felt like a massive rock smashing into his body. It was excruciatingly painful and even colder than the water in the pool, causing his injured body, which had just recovered, to instantly revert to its original weakened state.

"Damn!"

Aiden's face distorted, but he soon composed himself while enduring the pain. Many wounds already appeared on his body and his skin was torn.

"I'm too weak. My body can't withstand the impact of the waterfall at all. How would I go in through this waterfall?"

There was no doubt about Aiden's weak strength. Simply put, it is impossible for someone like him to cross the waterfall.

Aiden rubbed his aching body and muttered: "Don't tell me I've to go back?"

After muttering, Aiden shook his head and looked at the pool of water behind him. The pool was so cold. He endured the cold that almost froze him to death and came here with so much difficulty, how could he return?

And... where could he return?

This place was foreign to him.

"Since I can't get in through normally, I'll just rush in with force."

Deciding, Aiden retreated two steps, clenched his teeth, and rushed towards the waterfall.

Just as he entered the waterfall, a mountain-like pressure came pressing down once again, almost forcing Aiden to kneel.

From his childhood, there was something special about Aiden.

Once he decides something, he will never give up. He becomes kind of stubborn. The more resistance he faces, the stronger his mind and will become.

When his mother was still alive, she was there to stop him from doing something stupid. However, she was no longer alive. There was no longer anyone to stop him now.

That's why, when the mountain-like pressure descended heavily on Aiden's body, forcing him to almost kneel, a stubborn light flashed in his eyes as he held on relying solely on his strong will. Then he gritted his teeth and slowly started moving step by step.

His entire body was tensed as he moved forward bit by bit.

His current movement was extremely slow, even slower than a turtle.

After gritting his teeth and persevering for a long time, he was still only able to take a single step forward.

The width of the waterfall was roughly one meter. But just this one meter made Aiden feel as if he had stopped moving, and the pressure on his body became increasingly huge, to the point that he felt like vomiting blood.

Ka-cha~

Suddenly, a sound echoed inside Aiden's body. This was the sound of his bone breaking.

A horrible pain assaulted Aiden, but he could not even scream due to the falling waterfall. He could not hold on any longer and was smashed flat on the ground by the heavy waterfall.

"Would I die here?"

"No! I can't die here. I've yet to fulfill the promise I made to my mom. I've to live no matter what!"

Aiden howled madly in his heart as his eyes revealed a determined look. Gritting his teeth, he again started crawling forward.

What Aiden forgot was that he was currently in a different world. Even if he were to die in this world, he would not die in reality and would only return back to his original world.

After a long, very long, time, Aiden finally finished this painful journey and arrived at the last layer of waterfall from where he could see the little fellow through the water curtain.

Aiden gritted his teeth and used the last of his strength to crawl forward.

Vaguely seeing the little fellow jumping up and down excitedly in front of his eyes, the corner of Aiden's mouth finally revealed a trace of a smile, and then he fainted the next moment.

When he woke up again, he felt itchy on his face. Slowly opening his eyes, he saw the little fellow rubbing its furry body against his face.

Aiden sat up but suddenly felt that his body was no longer in any pain, and his originally injured body had also recovered.

Shockingly, even the broken bone in his body completely recovered.

Aiden was very confused and examined his body from head to toe. He discovered that not only had his body fully recovered, but he also felt that there was even more power in his body than before.

"Wh-what?"

"How did this happen?"

Feeling his own body, Aiden revealed a confused expression on his face.

However, the next moment he thought that as long as his body was fine, it was better than being injured.

Thinking of this, Aiden slowly stood up and looked at the waterfall behind him that had caused him so much suffering.

After a while, he turned around and started observing the surrounding area.

This was a passage that was around three meters wide and ten meters long. The entire tunnel was made of pure black stones, and although Aiden did not know what it was, he could tell that the stones laid out on the floor were valuable.

On both sides of the wall, night pearls were embedded every meter or so, illuminating the tunnel very brightly. Aiden can see some carvings on both sides of the wall.

On one side of the wall, there were carvings of creatures.

Aiden saw the carving of a divine dragon soaring to the sky with a domineering and majestic aura. He also saw the carving of a phoenix being reborn from its own ashes, then spreading its wings wide while looking down on everyone. There were also some bizarre creatures, tigers with wings, and three-headed snakes. They were vivid and lifelike as if they wanted to charge out of the wall.

On the other side of the wall, there was a carving of a beautiful angel and a man standing on the summit. The most eye-catching was not the beautiful angel but the man standing on the summit. He had long hair which was fluttering as he looked up at the sky with his hands behind his back.

Aiden stared deeply at the man on the mountain peak and suddenly felt that the man had lowered his head to look at him.

Aiden subconsciously retreated a few steps, and when he looked at the man once again, he saw that the man was still looking up at the sky. Aiden shook his head and felt that it must be an illusion. Maybe, he hallucinated for a moment.

Whatever it may have been, Aiden didn't dare to stay any longer. He quickly walked forward and exited the passage.

What he didn't notice was the man looking in his direction again after he walked far. A light shone in the man's eyes before he again turned his head to look at the sky.

Walking out of the passage, a spacious hall in front of Aiden.

The interior of the hall was extremely large, but there was not a single thing inside. If there was anything, then it was just a platform.

Nonetheless, it was no ordinary platform.

With a single glance, one could see that this stone platform in the middle of the hall was conspicuous.

A golden pearl glowing with a dazzling golden light could be seen floating quietly above the stone platform.

The walls of the hall were also inlaid with night pearls, brightening up the entire space. The golden light emitted by the stone platform was even more dazzling.

Looking at the golden pearl on the stone platform, Aiden was surprised. He seems to hear a call. It was as if the golden pearl was calling him, wanting him to walk forward towards it.
