Aaron leaned back in his chair at the Weekend base, savoring a piece of steak. The succulent meat was a welcome distraction from the chaos that surrounded him. He took another bite, enjoying the rich flavor as it melted in his mouth.
As he devoured the food, Tamaki and Hikaru approached, their expressions a mix of relief and exhaustion. They handed over their buckles, and Aaron took them, his attention more focused on the delicious steak than the gravity of the situation.
Just as he was about to take another bite, Sakura's voice cut through the air, laced with accusation. "I had a feeling you would be the one to send them on such a suicidal mission."
Aaron glanced up, his eyes meeting Sakura's piercing gaze. He could hear Yami's voice in his head, laughing hysterically. "This is getting good," the demonic voice echoed in his mind.
Aaron sighed internally, trying to maintain his composure. He set the steak down and wiped his mouth with a napkin, standing up to face Sakura. "They knew the risks," he replied calmly, his tone even. "And they chose to go."
Sakura's eyes narrowed, anger flashing in them. "You put their lives on the line without a second thought. Do you even care about what happens to them?"
"Ah yes, I sure do love spending my free time sending people to their deaths" The sarcasm in Aaron was quite evident as he looked at the annoyed teenage girl.
"This is not a joke, they could have died!" Sakura recorded to which Aaron just smiled before saying.
"They could have but they are here healthy and Alive...." Aaron said yawning a bit, the food that he had just eaten was being fully digested by his body.
Usually, this process should have taken a couple of hours, but as things stood Aaron needed to stock up on calories very quickly, his gut was telling him that he would need all the calories that he could get.
His healing factor will be getting spammed like no other in the future and thus all the nutrition that he had just eaten was going to be stored as energy, not fat.
His body just had this quirk of always keeping in fighting shape even if he had not exercised in a while, probably a quirk of genetic modification.
That however was none of his business, all he knew was that the nutrient that he had just eaten would be getting stored in his cells.
They should also be stored in an organ to be able to be used later but he forgot the organ's name.
Either way, he had enough fat to heal any major injury that did not kill him at least twice before running out.
This meant he had a lot of bulking up to do, he was currently following a sumo wrestler diet, and he wondered if he should increase it.
"They got lucky.....They could have died" Sakura's voice brought him back to reality, and his gaze landed on the angry teenage girl.
"So did you prefer to have your mom's head delivered to your house instead," His facial expression seemed to turn cold as he gazed into the depths of the girl's soul.
He saw something interesting in there, this would be fun to use later.
"I..." She seemed stuck there, guess he got her.
"It's not humanly morale to use people as nothing more than pawns!" The words that came out of her mouth seemed to make him stop for a bit.
For a split second George watched as his expression seemed to darken a bit on the humanly moral part.
"Under normal circumstances yes it's not moral, but Gifu is basically a reality-warping coochie that also happens to have the special skill of seeing someone's soul"
"What those that have to do with anything?" Sakura had a questioning look on her face as she said those words.
"What he is trying to say is, that Gifu could most likely sense if someone was dead and the chances that Vail could also do the same were high, that the reason he let Tamaki and Hikaru 'die' for a few minutes before restarting their heart" George explained.
"Well dam," Aaron said looking at the scientist.
"It's easy to put 2 and 2 together when you have already spelled out everything" George added.
'that was good to know' Aaron thought to himself, it seemed like George was getting him, that was fun.
Sakura's eyes flashed with anger as Aaron's indifference grated on her nerves. She clenched her fists, her frustration boiling over. "You always have an excuse, don't you?" she snapped, her voice rising. "You treat people's lives like they're expendable, just pieces on a chessboard for you to move around."
Aaron leaned back, unfazed by her outburst, and took another bite of his steak, savoring it before he replied. "If you want to get rid of me, just destroy Gifu," he said, his tone casual and dismissive. "I'll vanish the second he does."
Sakura's face contorted with rage. Her voice dropped to a cold, venomous whisper. "I'll be very glad when that happens," she spat, her eyes burning with intense hatred. The words hung in the air, heavy and biting.
Aaron met her gaze, a slow smile spreading across his face. He leaned back further in his chair, looking almost relaxed. "Your wish is my command," he said softly, the smile not quite reaching his eyes.
'Just Akaishi left.....and then' Aaron mentally prepared himself, this was going to be a pain.
