As she hurries back to her den, her heart races with a mix of fear and determination. Su Su can't help but wonder what state She'll find it in.
She burst through the doors of her den only to find complete chaos. Her den, once a cozy and serene home, now lies in shambles. Broken furniture and overturned pots and pans litter the floor. The scent of smoke and blood fills the air, making it difficult to breathe. She quickly scan the room for any sign of your of the intruder.
From off into the distance she heard a laughter.
The Wolf demon King laughed as he licked the cheek of the fox demon.
"Hahaha! The scouts were right, that damn Fox Queen is gone!"
There was a trace of regret in his voice.
'To bad~ I wanted to make her personally submit to me, but these will do fine!'
He threw the prisoners of war to his men.
Without trying to hide it, Su Su grits her teeth in anger and frustration-Her killing intent flared for the first time in months. The Wolf Demon King has invaded her home and taken her people captive. And what's worse, he seems to be gloating about it.
Without wasting another moment, Su Su focuses her energy and channels it through her body. Her eyes glow red as she transforms into her true form: a nine-tailed fox demoness, towering over the wolf demon king.
As Su Su transform into her true form, the wolf demon king's eyes widen in shock and fear. He quickly regains his composure, however, and snarls at her.
"So, the little fox has some bite after all!"
The wolf demon king lunges at Su Su with his large sword, aiming for a lethal strike. She dodges nimbly to the side, narrowly avoiding his attack. Her heart races as she prepare for a fierce battle.
As the fight ensues, Su Su notices that the wolf demon king is not only skilled with his sword but also possesses impressive speed and agility especially for his size. However, Su Su was no slouch herself. Her razor-sharp claws and agile movements allow her to keep up with him.
The battle continues for what feels like hours, with both combatants giving it their all. The air is thick with the sounds of clashing swords, snarls, and heavy breathing. She manage to land a few good hits on the wolf demon king, causing him to stumble back and let out an angry roar.
"Hmph, with this little skill you really think that you can take on our Fox Demon tribe?"
Su Su slashed upward.
She feels a surge of adrenaline rush through her veins as she launch into a counter-attack. Her claws move like lightning, leaving a trail of crimson behind as they tear through the air towards the wolf demon king.
CLANG!!!
The clash of steel echoes through the den as her claws meet the wolf demon king's sword. Despite his superior strength, Su Su manages to hold her own against him. With a fierce roar, Su Su leaps into the air, turning mid-air to deliver a powerful kick to his chest.
However this was what he was waiting for!
"HAHAHA You fell into my trap!!"
The wolf demon king catches her leg mid-air and uses her momentum to throw Su Su against a nearby wall. The impact sends shockwaves through her body, and she feels a sharp pain in her ribs. Gritting her teeth, she forces her body to stand upright. Her disheveled silver hair droops over her face as blood flowed from her mouth.
The wolf demon king smirks at her.
"You're tougher than I thought, little fox. But even the strongest fall when they least expect it."
With that, he launches into a fierce attack, unleashing a flurry of sword strikes designed to overwhelm and disorient her.
Suddenly their movements stopped. They felt a killing intent so strong that it immobilized them. Looking up they saw a man with dead eyes scurrying the battlefield. This man was Jian Yu.
"T-This feeling! The motionless blade!?" The arrogant Wolf Demon King muttered internally, afraid that even just breathing would lead to his death. "Those useless demonic cultivators!"
The Wolf Demon was smart. Although he didn't know the relationship between Su Su and Jian Yu, he was still one to make sure that there would be no mistake in his plans.
He had sent the demonic cultivators to fight with Tianzhen so that the motionless blade wouldn't have time to kill them both as they fought. Otherwise all his plans would have benefitted the humans rather than himself.
As the wolf demon king realizes the danger he's in, he tries to retreat but finds himself trapped by an invisible force. Looking around, he sees that Jian Yu has encased him in a mysterious energy barrier. The man with the dead eyes steps forward, his sword glowing with an ominous light.
Jian Yu looks at Su Su. Then his gaze looked at her hair and onto that Jade hairpin he had given her and his eyes widened.
As Jian Yu approaches, he speaks in a low, threatening voice. "You've caused enough trouble for me. It's time for you to pay the price." He raises his sword, ready to deliver the final blow. Su Su's heart races as she watches this unfold. The sword came closer and closer-inch by inch towards Su Su.
Before she knew it, her eyes started welling up. In her heart she kept on ignoring the possibilities she was in love with Jian Yu. But now that she saw his sword coming towards her, her heart ached.
"Are we meant to be enemies after all?"
Jian Yu's sword flew past Su Su and towards the neck of the Wolf demon!
As the sword flew towards the Wolf Demon King, time seemed to slow down for Su Su. She watched in shock as Jian Yu's blade pierced through the demon's neck, killing him instantly. The sudden silence that fell over the battlefield was deafening.
The air was thick with tension as everyone held their breath, waiting to see what would happen next. Slowly, Jian Yu lowered his sword, a cold glint in his eyes. He turned to face Su Su, his expression unreadable. She stared back at him, her heart racing.
"Well then." Jian Yu asks. "Yang Su...did you kill her?!"
As Jian Yu asked that question, Su Su felt her heart drop to her stomach. She took a deep breath and forced herself to meet his gaze. "I...killed her!" she replied, her voice shaking slightly with a hint of determination.
'If you knew that you're wife, Yang Su was a demon who ate human hearts....Would you still love her, Jian Yu? Rather than that, I would want that Yang Su to remain in your heart as your beloved wife. Even if that means I will die here.'
Her eyes turned sorrowful, but she beared it in and smile like a demon. "I thought that this hairpin was pretty so I took it after eating her whole! I told you Jian Yu! You should have killed me before I had killed your loved ones!"
Jian Yu narrowed his eyes at Su Su's response. He could sense that she was holding back information from him. "Why are you lying?" he demanded.
Su Su's heart skipped a beat at Jian Yu's accusation. She knew that he could see through her lies. "I'm not lying!" she insisted. "I really did find this hairpin after killing her."
"Then....Why are you crying?" Jian Yu already had a suspicion. It wasn't unnatural for demons to hide as humans. Also, he had followed the Jade hairpin here. Jian Yu had left a wisp of his qi in that hairpin: It would allow him to detect if her life was ever in danger and he could instantly locate her.
Jian Yu wasn't an idiot.
What he really wanted to know was...If her love was all a lie.
Could it be everything...was just a fabricated dream? That everything they experienced was just his wishful thinking? His heart ached even more than whenever he had used the demonic arts. Jian Yu regretted it. He regretted ever opening his heart for someone else.
Jian Yu turned away from Su Su, his shoulders slumping in defeat. He had trusted her, had believed in her, and now he felt like a fool. The weight of his emotions was overwhelming, and he couldn't bear to look at her anymore. "I see."
As Jian Yu walked away, leaving Su Su standing alone in the midst of the battlefield, she felt a sharp pain in her chest. She knew that she had lost him, lost the love of her life. Tears streamed down her face as she watched him go, her heart breaking into a million pieces.
Su Su stood there, motionless, feeling the world collapse around her. She couldn't believe it had come to this. Her love had been lost, her heart broken. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself, but the pain was too much. She sank to her knees, sobbing uncontrollably.
As Su Su kneeled on the ground, her heart heavy with despair, she heard footsteps approaching her. Looking up, she saw Jian Yu standing before her, his expression unreadable. He knelt down beside her and reached out a hand, offering her some comfort. Taking a deep breath, she slowly placed her trembling hand in his.
"I also said this back then...Man and demons....Does it really matter?"
Su Su looked up at Jian Yu, her eyes filled with despair and confusion. "What does that mean?" she whispered. There were still doubts in her heart.
Jian Yu sighed heavily, running a hand through her hair. "It means that even if you are a demon...even if you are my enemy...I will still love you."
Su Su's eyes widened in disbelief. He still loved her? Despite everything? "But...I am a demon," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "And I have lied to you, betrayed you. How can you still love me?"
Jian Yu looked into Su Su's eyes, his gaze filled with sorrow and determination. "Because I do," he replied simply. "And that will never change, no matter what you are or what you've done. Even if you are the villain of this world. I'll stand with you." He took her hand in his and pulled her close, wrapping his arms around her. "I love you, Su Su."
Su Su's heart skipped a beat as she felt Jian Yu's arms around her. She had never expected him to say those words, especially not after everything that had happened. She pulled away slightly to look at him, her eyes searching his face for any signs of deceit. But all she saw was love and determination. "Jian Yu..."
Jian Yu nodded, understanding her confusion. "I know it's hard to believe," he said softly. "But I want you to know that I mean it. I will always love you, no matter what." He brushed a stray tear from her cheek before leaning in to place a gentle kiss on her forehead.
Su Su closed her eyes, feeling the warmth of Jian Yu's kiss on her forehead. She had never felt so loved, so cherished. Despite everything, he still loved her. "Jian Yu," she whispered, her voice barely above a whisper. "I love you too."
