Chapter 7 - Chapter 07

Jeff's Pov:-

After having a serious conversation with Carlos, I came to know that my Uncle was alive and the reason why I don't remember my past is because I had an accident due to which I lost my memory. I believed everything that my Uncle said and turned out he lied to me. The person who was dying and coughing blood was my dad. It's hard to believe. I'm doubting if I should trust him. His brother tried kidnapping me, what if he does the same? Damn, this is exhausting. Thinking about such things drain me out. I laid down on my bed, spreading my hands and staring at the ceiling. I'm bored.

Knock knock

I sat up straight on my bed. The door opened revealing a maid.

"Master has called you. It's time for dinner." She rolled her eyes to what, god knows and slammed the door shut.

"How rude..." I mumbled.

It's so rude to give an attitude to a guest and slam his room's door. I jumped down the bed, patted on my wrinkled pants and shirt and left the room. This mansion can fit my whole apartment building. I can spend days here without getting bored. Fish, I don't where's the dinning room. Wait a min, did she say dinner? There were many windows on the passage as I walked through. I opened one of the window and looked at the sky. It was getting dark but it wasn't night yet. Who the fish eats dinner at this time? I'm going to be hungry later so let's stuff a lot of food at once.

Carlos was sitting on the big chair that was at the end of the table. All the men were seated and were chatting among themselves. I found one seat empty which was between two unknown men. Well it will be kind of uncomfortable to sit between two unknown men and listen to them bantering. Carlos seemed to understand that I was uncomfortable. "Chad, sit on the other empty seat." Without a word, the guy Chad changed his seat. I immediately made my way to the seat beside Carlos. "Thank you.." I mumbled, enough for him to hear. In return, he hummed. Within seconds, maids started serving us. First the maid served Rice to everyone and the chicken on the top with a side of Salad. That's some healthy food. No wonder everyone here is fit, excluding me.

I didn't realise I was hungry but as soon as the food touched my taste buds, I had to stop myself from shoving everything down my throat. My Uncle always taught that we should eat the food slow and have as much as I can. I should eat it with manners but don't be so slow that a kid finishes before you. I liked the chicken, it was perfectly cooked with no raw spices. And trust me, when I say I've had bad meals, I'm serious.

After dinner, Carlos called me in his office. I was seated on the couch and he was infront of me, typing something in his laptop. "You called for me?" He just hummed instead of a proper response. I sighed as I saw he was busy but I was getting sleepy. I get he's busy but he should tell me what he wants and let me go. Suddenly he faced his laptop screen in front of me. I looked at him, confused. It seemed like a temple. Old building, kinda greenish.

"What is this place?" I asked.

"That's a temple in Heardwood town. We've got a information that your Uncle is there. We're going there tomorrow to meet him so get ready by 10 in the morning."

I didn't know what to say. I wasn't ready to face my uncle. What will I ask him? But I want to know why he faked his death.

"Alright." I said.

I was sent to bed but I couldn't sleep. My mind kept giving me these flashbacks. Blood, gunshots, screams, fights. Fish, I guess now I know why people take drugs.
