"You all should stop looking at me like that, I'm definitely going to find a way to get in or have I ever failed to deliver on my word??" I said to them and they all couldn't reply because they know I speak the truth based on my track record.
I continued speaking: "When I get in and switch off the power supply you all shouldn't hesitate to come in through the fence because a building like this would be quick to check things out. Is that understood?" I asked and they all nodded.
"Understood." They chorused in unison...
"I trust you Tristan, I know you can do it." Edwardo said with a proud smile which I didn't reciprocate but just nodded slightly.
"The next thing is locating the room where the painting is being kept and I think Tristan, Tanya and you should be able to do that," he said pointing at the three of us standing with the third member being one of his men.
Edwardo continued addressing us: "You are to check the rooms slowly and very gently so as not to alert the people sleeping inside the mansion. It would be a disaster if you are caught in the act so be careful and whoever finds the painting first should communicate with the others so you can all retreat at the same time without any delay."
"But what would the rest of us do, then?" Mia, who had been quiet all the while curiously asked.
"The remaining seven of you will keep guard outside and make sure no one comes in or goes out until you have what you are there for," Edwardo replied and Mia nodded.
"And another thing to take note of. There are surveillance cameras in the house so you all will be on masks. I don't want your identities being known, okay?" Edwardo further added.
"Yes boss!" They chorused in unison.
"Good. You all can head back to your rooms now. You will head out by 7pm this evening," he ended.
"Isn't that too early cause no one would be asleep by that time and it would be a big disaster on our side," I said, bringing him back.
"You are not going into the mansion by 7pm. You guys are to go in by 10pm but I want you to go earlier so as to get used to the environment and mostly because of you Tristan so you can at least find an easier way to go in and do what you want fast," he explained and everyone nodded.
"Now you all should retire to your various rooms. Rest because you will be needing it cause once it's 7pm the work will begin. Hope you all understood my explanations?" He asked and we all chorused a "Yes."
"Off you go then," he said and we all made to walk out including I but he called me back.
"Let me have a word with you Tristan."He said and I waited behind while others left for their various rooms...
"Is there any other thing you want me to do for you boss?"I asked calmly, staring at him.
"Have you thought about my proposal? I mean what do you want me to do for you?" he asked, staring back at me.
"Not really. I haven't given it a thought. I want to take my time if that's permitted by you?" I said calmly.
"Of course it is as long as it is you. I'm just curious to know what the request will be when you finally decide to ask," he said.
"Don't worry. I'm no longer interested in knowing who my parents are so I won't tell you to help me search for them. I have realized I can't waste this precious opportunity on them. People who abandoned me," I said with a slight frown but Edwardo smiled broadly.
"Very good son. Come to me anytime you are done thinking. I'm ready to do anything you want to make you happy and stay with me," he said, still smiling.
"I will but are you also sure that you will do whatever I ask of you?" I asked and he nodded confidently before replying.
"I am 100% sure Tristan. Be rest assured I will do anything just for you aside letting you go far away from me though," he said assuringly.
"Alright. Give me a little more time to think about it. I will give you a response soon," I said.
"I will be expecting your response."
"Sure," I replied walking out of his room….
"Tell me how you plan on entering a mansion that is tightly secured with guards and barbed wires everywhere???"Tanya asked as soon as I came out of Edwardo's room.
"I thought we were asked to go to our rooms. So what are you doing here?"I asked in surprise.
"I had to stay behind because I'm curious and worried at the same time about how you want to go into the mansion," she said.
"You stayed behind just to ask me this?"I asked in surprise and she nodded.
"Is it not worth it to stay behind? Tell me how you plan to do it," she demanded.
"Beg me very well so I can tell you or better still bribe me. Persuade me.." I said playfully.
"Okay so how do you want me to persuade you?" She asked, looking serious.
"Is it a must you know how I plan to do it, Miss Tanya?" I asked tickling her.
"Yes,it is a must," she said amidst laughter and I stopped tickling her so she could catch her breath.
"Well the truth is that I don't know what to do yet but I'm sure that something will drop inside of me before that time. I'm sure about that," I replied confidently..
"Really? How can you say that you have no idea and yet you sounded so confident.
Isn't that too risky?? You are putting our lives and yours especially in danger because others won't take it lightly with you when you are clueless," she said, obviously bothered about my safety.
"Don't worry Tan that won't happen and like I said something will surely drop in my mind before that time. So calm down," I said but she was still not calm.
"Don't you trust me anymore?" I asked, holding her hands.
She stared at our hands which were linked together before staring back at me.
"Of course I trust you, Tris. I'm just worried but I hope something drops in your head before that time," she said in a whisper.
"Now you are talking. You should always think positively. That is what angels do and you are one of them," I said, pulling her cheeks like a little kid.
"Stop that. I'm not a baby," she said frowning playfully.
"You are a baby, Tanya. My own baby. I need to rest now and probably think of what to do before we head out, so take care of yourself little girlfriend," I said walking away not before giving her a peck on the cheek.
TANYA
"Tristan just pecked me and called me his girlfriend?" I asked myself in surprise.
I couldn't help but blush.
I'm madly in love with this guy. I said to myself before walking to my room.
