TRISTAN
We all walked to the bus which was to convey us to the mansion.
"Tris."Tanya called, walking to me with Mia trailing behind her.
If I didn't know that they came differently I would have mistaken them as twins because they are always moving together.
"How are you doing, old woman?" I teased, putting my hand around Tanya's shoulders.
"Can you tell me the reason why you like referring to me as an old woman?" Tanya frowned.
"That's because you act like one, talk like one and also forget things quickly, like one." I said and she laughed hysterically.
"And I will call everything a big lie cause I Tanya doesn't fall in any of the categories and talking about memory failure or forgetting things,it is your attribute and not mine." She said with a smirk.
"That is a lie but I won't just argue. I also hope you are with your mask cause no one would lend you," I said.
"I knew you were heading somewhere with your claims. Anyways, I am with my mask and I even came with an extra in case some old shaky memory grandfather's forget to bring their own along," She said, throwing a dig at me.
"Wow! I'm impressed. That shows you are recovering fast for you to even bring an extra," I said, smiling wickedly.
"Of course I am and you are getting worse daily because your memory keeps shaking like sea water," she insulted, playfully.
"Ouch. That is too much insults for me," I said dramatically as I held my chest like someone in pain.
"Good for you. Don't think I'm going to share my extra mask with you because I plan on wearing the two and I also know you forgot to bring yours. Don't try to beg or explain things."
"Okay, fine. You got me, I actually forgot to bring my mask cause I woke up late and I had to dress up quickly," I explained with a pout.
"Good for you and like I said I'm not sharing with anyone," she said putting on a serious face.
"Even me?"I asked with puppy eyes but she nodded her head vigorously.
"Stop that. Your head might fall off from your neck," I said, holding her head still like it was really going to fall off her neck.
"Just consider your offense triple and you will also have to smell my ass before I give you this mask," she said angrily.
"Your ass??? You are getting spoiled everyday. Who is teaching you all this?"I asked.
"Stop questioning me. I expect you to look for ways to beg me and not ask unnecessary questions?"
"You are hurting me Tanya," I said, holding my chest dramatically with a frown on my face.
"How? Where?" She asked worriedly checking my body if there was a wound on it.
"Ouch!" I increased my voice and kept dramatizing.
Mia was busy laughing uncontrollably at my drama.
"What is it now? Are you okay?" She asked worriedly.
"No. I'm not okay," I said, groaning the more for her to feel more guilty.
"What happened to you? Do you have an injury in your chest?" she asked, looking so worried.
"No. You broke my heart. You insulted me and even told me my memory is shaky. That is the injury I'm nursing all because of a mask," I said and she frowned as she finally figured I was messing around with her.
"You are crazy, Tris. Come to think I was worried about you..you know what. I won't give you so you can keep dramatizing."
"Fine. I won't beg you, I will just collect Mia's own if you won't give me yours," I said winking at Mia.
"What a pity. Mia doesn't have an extra mask," Tanya said mockingly.
"Actually I have and I won't mind giving him," Mia said, raising up her own mask and Tanya frowned.
"Fine. You win this time but I will make sure you pay for blackmailing me," she said, putting the mask into my palm reluctantly.
"Stop frowning Tanya. I have told you that before. Only witches frown but angels smile," I said, pulling her cheeks.
"Now you look beautiful," I further stated as she smiled shyly like someone who just had her first kiss.
"Tristan," she called, sounding serious after some minutes of silence.
"That's my name," I replied without looking at her.
She looked around the boss to see if anyone was looking in our direction but everyone was minding his or her business.
"Have you thought of what to do to get into the mansion?" she asked, looking serious and worried.
"Yes. I now have an idea," I lied with an assuring smile.
"Oh. That is a huge relief," she said, breathing out.
I can't possibly tell her that I'm clueless and don't know what to do. It would make her worried and I don't want that.
However I'm sure something will drop in my mind before we get there or when we get there. I thought with a sigh.
I hope so.
Author's POV
The Williams are seen on the dining table discussing random things.
A maid walked to them with a tray containing juice per their daughter's instruction but the maid who was feeling dizzy and tired from the day work mistakenly spilled a little amount of juice on Chloe's body.
"Oh my gracious God!" Chloe exclaimed angrily as she slowly stood on her feet.
"What did you just do?" she asked the maid who was obviously shaking.
"I'm sorry lady Chloe. It was a mistake, I promise you that it won't repeat itself again," the maid pleaded, kneeling before her.
"Calm down, darling." Lord Williams said calmly.
"There is no way I'm calming down dad. This is becoming too frequent, annoying and irritating. I can't take it anymore dad," Chloe yelled in disgust.
"I'm sorry, please forgive me please it won't repeat itself," the maid who already knew the repercussions of what she did pleaded.
"I won't make it repeat itself again you clumsy fool. You are hereby fired," Chloe spat out without remorse.
"Please, let it slide honey. She is obviously sorry for what she has done so give her a lesser punishment. You know her family might depend on her so don't let them die miserably of hunger," Mrs Williams said.
"Fine. You should be grateful to my mom who pleaded on your behalf else,I would have fired you," Chloe grumbled.
"Thank you Miss Chloe. I really appreciate and thank you ma'am for pleading on my behalf," the maid said, wiping her tears.
"Don't be over happy as you know there is nothing free even in freetown and my mom only begged me to lessen your punishment so that is what I will do because you can't go unpunished for what you did," Chloe said with a smirk making the maid pause in shock.
"So,because of my mom I will..I have no idea now so I will get back to you later," Chloe said when she could not think of a befitting punishment at the moment.
"Thank you," the maid bowed.
"Don't get too excited cause I won't forget," Chloe said sitting back on her chair with a triumphant smile...
"So how was school today?" Lord Williams asked, making the atmosphere change a little.
"Royal High is fine dad but as usual those pests wouldn't let me rest," she said, sighing tiredly.
"By pest, do you mean boys?" Mrs Williams asked in surprise.
"Yes mom but I told them bluntly that I can't date, nevermind getting married to riff raff like them," she said, making the maids around them widen their eyes in surprise.
