Samuel's Pov:
"What?" The creature in front of me smiles and grabs my arm. "I'd recommend closing your eyes." I squeeze my eyes shut. "Holy shit." I look around at the dark gray walls where curves to meet with the high ceiling with a crisscross grid. "You like it?" Zenian asks walking backward to a grand door that sits next to an enormous fireplace. "It's incredible." There's a dark purple couch sitting a couple of yards away from the fireplace. It sits on a black rug. The floor is made up of dark planks sprawling across the floor.
"Come on dear. I'll leave you in my room while I speak with my brother." I jog to catch up with Zenian whose in the next hallway. "Wait," I say realizing what he's done. "You kidnapped me!" Zenian turns to face me. "I did. Now let's hurry before Vaisker finds out you're here."
"It's already too late Zenian." A cold piece of metal meets my neck. I try to look at the person behind me, but I can't get a good view. I already know who it is. "Vaisker. Let him go." A low growl comes from the man behind me before he says, "Zenian, you brought a human into the home. I have every right to kill him." The metal begins to dig into my skin. I feel a warm liquid run down my neck. "NO! Vaisker! Please stop it!" Zenian stands in front of me knowing he is unable to do anything to his brother.
The metal digs deeper into my skin, "Zenian, help." A laugh comes from the man behind me. He throws me down to the ground. Zenian is quick to cover the wound on my neck. "I feel like being kind today. You're a lucky human. Zenian we'll discuss this privately." Vaisker vanishes leaving us alone in the hall.
"Sam, are you alright?" He pulls my head into his lap. I chuckle at his question, "If you call bleeding profusely out of your neck alright then yes." Zenian laughs at my sarcasm. He lifts my head and lays it on the ground. He then picks me up bridal style. "Hey!" Zenian laughed at my surprise. "Keep your hand on the cut, I'll deal with it once we're in my room."
He carries me for a while before new voices speak up, "Thought I'd never see him care for anybody but himself." One voice says but then another speaks, "Haha, yeah. Wait, is he carrying a human?" I feel Zenian's chest vibrate as he growls, "Shut up you idiots." They won't shut up and they begin to follow us. "What's your name?" I look at Zenian for guidance but I can't tell what he wants me to do. "Sam and you guys are?" The one is only slightly darker than Zenian with cat ears and tail and says, "I'm Kakson." The one on the right is much darker than Zenian but only a little bit darker than Axeler. He has wolf ears and tail like a werewolf but I don't think he is one. "I'm Quwin."
Zenian pulls me a little tighter into his chest, "Don't you two have better things to do?" The two guys laugh. "Vasiker hasn't given either of us tasks so nope. We can hang out with you guys." Another vibration leaves Zenian's chest. I did know deer could growl. "What's up with the blindfolds?" I ask. None of them respond. They don't even acknowledge the question. Zenian adjusts me again, "Ow." My hand got pressed hard against the cut. "Sorry, we're almost there. You two leave now." "Wow what a party pooper. See ya later Sam." Quwin says before disappearing. Kakson smiles and waves at me before leaving as well.
We arrive before a big white door. Zenian pushes it open and we enter a large room with sage-colored walls. It has a high ceiling like the other rooms. There's a giant window on the opposite side of the room. In the center is a bed with dark green sheets and a plush of a squirrel. Zenian sets me on the bed and says, "Let me see your neck." I move my hand away from the wound. I look at my bloody hand. It's gross. He begins to wipe my neck with something. I have no idea what it is but it makes the pain stop. He sticks a bandage on the sit and asks, "Better?" I nod my head and say, "Thank you." I see a small smile form on his lips.
"You will stay in here, right?" I shake my head yes. He seems satisfied with that answer. He pats my head before disappearing. I gaze around the room. It's incredible. It's as big as my entire house. I stand and walk over to the window. I move aside the giant curtain. "Wow." Outside there are green trees and in the distance, there are mountains with snowy peaks. What a wonderful view.
