Creeek.
The door to a private suite of a restaurant opened into a dimly lit room. At the centre of it was a round table full of food and soft drinks. A group of young men and women were seated around it and were engaged in a heated discussion but one seat was still empty.
As soon as the door opened, everyone turned to look at the girl who sauntered inside with her hands tucked in the pockets.
She was pretty tall. Her long, black, braided hair fell over her back. The sleeves of her shirt were rolled back up to her elbow and her forearms were covered in white hand wraps. She quietly pulled out the empty chair and sat down with a sigh, crossing her legs.
"Welcome back, Cap." One of the boys said, raising his glass to her.
The girl lifted her head to look at him.
Under the faint light of the room, her green and blue irises twinkled like tiny gemstones. And the gaze in them were, in fact, cold and hard like gems. Surjo was a bit taken aback by the look in her eyes. However, the coldness in them dimmed considerably as she looked at the pretty boy with beautiful brown hair.
"Thanks." She hummed softly at Surjo and opened the food box in front of her.
Seeing the content inside, the remaining frost in her eyes vanished and her aura became warmer. She carefully plated the food such that not a single grain of rice was wasted. Then, she pulled out something that looked like a pair of transparent gloves from her pocket, wore them over her hand wraps and went to wash her hands. After that, she took a long sniff of the Biryani and started eating it devotedly, savoring each grain and bone.
When the rest looked at Surjo with questioning eyes, he silently shook his head and motioned towards their plates. They sighed and looked at Olivia.
Seeing her so immersed in her food, they also resumed eating, enjoying their food to the fullest, taking their time in savouring each bite. After a long while, the plates were finally empty. Olivia licked her fingers and giving a little burp, she patted her tummy which felt to be round from all the Biryani she just stuffed in.
Now that her belly was full, Surjo felt that it would be a good time to ask the question that they had all been meaning to ask since Olivia stepped inside the room.
"Olly, how di.."
"Where to now?" She cut him off and asked no one in particular.
Everyone sighed but they respected her wish to not talk about it now. They just cast a few worried looks at her and did not push it further.
"Go home and sleep? I'm pretty tired even without doing anything." One of the girls answered to Olivia's question.
She was sitting beside Olivia. Her long white hair was tied in a low ponytail. Her white eyelashes sparkled under the light, casting a shadow over her grey eyes. Her pale skin was in stark contrast with the surrounding, making it seem like she was enveloped by some supernatural glow.
Ritutandra looked at her sister and yawned showing proof to her claim.
Olivia just shrugged.
"Do you even think about anything else apart from eating and sleeping, Miss Ghostie?" A boy sitting opposite Ritu said, rolling his eyes.
He had shoulder-length hair, half of which was tied in a ponytail and his forehead was covered with bangs.
Ghostie was the name of a cartoon character, a chunky white cat ghost which looked like a floating white cotton candy. Ritu's friends teased her by calling her by that name because, like that cat, she was also white from the top of her hair to the tip of her toenail. And on top of everything, her favourite colour was white and she loved cats.
Parijat always pulled his sister's leg saying that she should audition for horror movies. No makeup, no editing required. She would become a millionaire and rule the horror film industry. In response, he would get a full body massage from her but he never learns his lesson and keeps asking for a full body massage by her fists.
"Of course, I think about other things." Ritu grinned at her brother, Parijat.
It looked sweet on the surface but creeped the hell out of Parijat, giving him goosebumps all over his body.
Ritu got up and cracked her knuckles.
Then, she slowly strolled towards Parijat still maintaining her smile and said, "Like now, I am thinking about what new style of massage shall I give you and how much pressure should I apply and where. Do you want me to be your personal masseur my so bad, baby brother?"
Parijat laughed stiffly and said, "Ha..ha...haha. Sis, I was kidding. It was just a joke. How could I be so impudent to my elder? I'm not so bra- Aaah."
Before he could finish his sentence, his ear was harshly twisted by his elder.
"Aaaaaa! Chhotdi, I'm sorry. I was wrong. Oww! I won't tease you promise. Aaa!"
"You brat. I lost count of how many such promises you made till date," Ritu smiled menacingly and smacked his head.
"Oowwww! This is the last. I swear! I swear! Didiii. Save me!" Parijat called Olivia for help.
"If you're so eager to die what can I do? You dug your own grave, laid on it and even covered it with mud yourself. You're just asking someone to offer the flowers," Olivia looked indifferenty at her brother.
Parijat looked like he was about to cry.
"You're so biased." He sniffled.
Olivia ignored him and blissfully sipped her soda.
Ritutandra smirked upon gaining support from her elder sister and happily beat up her brother. The others laughed, seeing the almighty Parijat Mallick getting beaten by his sister while the poor boy glared at his friends who were enjoying his misery.
'You fatherf*ckers!' He cursed in his mind.
'These are the people I call friends?! What friends? I have no doubt they'll be the first to serve me to the enemy with sauce and salad if the chance arrives! Maybe even give a bottle of high-quality wine too! Wait, why would I even need enemies if I have these b*stards?' He cried in his heart.
Being glared at, they pursed their lips, trying hard to control their laughter because they knew that Parijat was only afraid of his sisters. If they laughed now then they would be the ones done for later. No one escaped his pranks except Olivia and Ritu.
Seeing them stop laughing, Parijat's aggrieved heart soothed a little but that soothing feeling vanished soon enough, when Ritu pinched his cheeks hard. After a lot of wrestling and screaming, he finally managed to escape by promising to buy her the biggest art gallery ticket.
